Quartier Leonard is a fantastic quirky place with rooms themed around different designers and icons. Our host was very friendly and helpful (including in the leadup to our stay), and reading the little information book that he has made is a must and is itself worth the stay. The part about tequila tickled us. This is not a competitor to a sanitised chain hotel but something much better and more interesting. The location is brilliant with most of Ghent's sites less than 10min away.

In my opinion, this place deserves a much higher score than its current average mark on this website. I particularly liked the creative approach concerning the interior design. Our group was staying in two rooms, Marilyn Monroe (spacious and light, with lots of Pop Art / Andy Warhol references) and Salvador Dali. Each one has its own character and its own charm. It is obvious that the owner put a lot of effort in making this place different, as you can feel the artistic twist everywhere. The communication with the host was smooth and easy. He offered a possibility to pre-book a parking lot in the immediate neighbourhood, too (15 euros). This place is walking distance from the heart of Ghent so the location is convenient as well. In addition, it is a pet-friendly place, which was important for us in the context of this trip. Finally, I would recommend Quartier Leonard for its quality/price ratio.
The Marilyn Monroe room overlooks the street so it may get a little noisy. The Salvador Dali room, by contrast, is very calm.

The rooms are very creatively designed, we had a Dali room and I loved it! There’s tea and coffee in the room, different recommendations individually gathered by the owner (not just standard ones from the tourist guide). We have arrived relatively late, but with the detailed instructions could find everything without any problems. Location is great, literally 5-10 minutes walk to the city centre, parking is relatively cheap (15 euro per day) and we could take our dog with us for free.
The doors to the room or the walls are a bit thin and you can hear all noises from the stairs very well. But I got used to it and stopped paying attention

It’s very unique, the owner expressed his creativity with this b&b. All rooms are have a different theme. The bed and the pillows were very soft, the bathroom was big, we had free coffee and tea in our room, and you could order a great deal of drinks. It’s very close to the bus station. The host gave us a great list of recommendations (bars, restaurants, activities, things to visit) and a map. You could rent a kayak, paint, have pictures taken of you. Staying here is an experience of its own, as you can get commission art or live music.
The walls were thin, so you could hear the others. It wasn’t as clean as a hotel, and it was being renovated, so the entrance was a bit messy (the host apologised in advance for this and explained the situation).

Super weird and crazy, but cozy and nice place. The (bigger) room is really comfortable and has much space. If you don't have high standards, it is a interesting and funnily bizarre place. It's close to the city.
It's not perfectly clean (stains on the wall from dead mosquitos, stains on certains and couches, shower a bit dirty) and some of the furnitures are also a bit old and partly bust. It's a bit loud, but well, it's close to the city.

The room was surprisingly huge and the staff was very friendly. The location was excellent as well, it's only a few minutes walking to the centre. Each room has their own unique design, and the owner does most of the work himself. It's a very nice personal experience which I can definitely recommend!
If I'm being nitpicky: the shower was a little low for me (1m90). But that's such a minor issue it really doesn't matter

Large comfy room with two couches and enormous bed. Great location to explore the town but still far enough that is quiet. Kind owner who doesn’t believe in check out hours - there’s no strict hours for this (we left around 12.30). Cool piano on the ground floor. The owner makes his own vermouth (available in the room) though we didn’t have the chance to try them.
The bathroom drainage could be improved. There’s no lift but the owner kindly helped us with our large luggage.

I liked the comfortable big bed and the proximity of the accomodation to the city centre. Leonard helped us carrying up our luggages to our floor (we stayed almost at the top floor), it was very nice from him.
The building was being renovated and there was dust that was flying around and get gathered in the room, but it was a known issue that we got information about. The only one (real) dislike is that the water heating system in our room (Chanel) turned itself down in every 2 minutes during shower, resulting the cycle of really cold and really hot water. Turning on the tap and run its water simultaneously with the shower helped a bit, but it was not a guaranteed solution.

Location is excellent, very easily accesible by car and could park it next to the building, then just a 10 minute walk to the city center. Room was excellent, spacious and clean with nice thematic decoration and the host was very friendly and helpful.
It smelled I bit weird in the stairwell and the bed was very squeaky.
