Violet Suites are a little quirky and we loved it. Els was really lovely and extremely accommodating. We arrived a bit early and even though she wasn't quite ready she accommodated is and made us at home. The breakfast was really good - eggs, bread, yoghurt, cereals, cheese, meat juice, coffee, tea and on our last morning croissants. The location was also great, easy access to the city and stations (Dampoort) and tram. Ghent is a foodies paradise. Would definitely recommend.

The woman who runs this is very jovial and helpful. The room was quiet and private. The quiet air conditioning was very much appreciated as the city was hot at the time. The location was excellent for the part of town we needed access to. Bed was very comfortable. Overall, a nice contemporary design at a fair price. Thank you!

The breakfast was minimal. That's ok. Just slightly disappointing.

We loved our stay at the Violet Suites! The host went out of her way to make us comfortable, even tracking down decaf coffee for us. The Violet Suites are super comfy and just gorgeous. So many creative little details that make you want to spend a few extra minutes there in the morning, enjoying your coffee or tea before you leave for the day. The suites are in an excellent location, a short walk to the Ghent city center, or a much shorter walk to the tram that will take you right there. The nearby neighborhood is so charming, we loved everything we did in Ghent. I couldn't recommend Violet Suites more!

I traveled with a friend and while not a huge deal, the bathroom had a sliding door instead of a fully closing door. It wasn't the most private option, but worked out just fine.

We had been on a bit of a tour of Belgium by the time we reached Violet Suites so can truly say, this was our favourite of many hotels. The room was beautiful and comfortable and the host offered many treats to guests including complementary breakfast items and snacks. We were made to feel very welcome. The property is just a short walk from the main attractions in Gent, on a nice quiet street.

Very nice comfortable apartment, very clean, quiet (Violet Suite No. 1 is not facing the street - highly recommended!), super friendly owner. We booked the parking space behind the building which was great as Gent is not so easy with parking. Biggest surprise was the breakfast that was available although we did not book breakfast. There is a small kitchen for the 3 suites and the owner provided some things for breakfast that we could make. really nice :)

the automatic light in the toilet room is really annoying as the toilet room has glass elements and the light shines brightly into the room and wakes the other person up at night.

Loved this place! Spacious and comfortable rooms with everything you'd need, very comfy beds, and a great location to explore Ghent (~15 min walk from city center). The host Els was very friendly and responsive as well.

Lovely spacious and clean. A modern, effective refit. Generous size and comfortable beds - and very well fitted and stocked shared kitchen. Els and her daughter friendly and helpful especially on arrival arranging luggage storage. Lovely food!

We were lucky to have 2 of the 3 rooms so only shared the kitchen one day of our three night stay. Depending on the other guests it could be less than ideal for some. Our fellow breakfast guests were just fine!

Our stay at Violet Suites was excellent. The accommodation was very comfortable and beautifully designed. We were there during some extreme hot weather so we were grateful for air conditioning to lower the temperature in the room before sleeping. The shared kitchen area was well equipped, with more facilities than we needed to use. A simple, delicious breakfast was available. There was plenty of helpful local information provided, check-in and out were simple and our host was gracious and welcoming. The location is great, easy to walk everywhere but close to the buses to get quickly and easily to the train station. We'd happily recommend Violet Suites.

Very friendly host, very helpful as well. Great location within walking distance from the center. It was clean and tidy and has many amenities.

The front door and windows were difficult to open, because they got stuck in the frame. The bathroom is not properly ventilated, making it damp and smelling not too good. The door handles were not so good in some places.

I booked Violet Suites on the basis of other positive reviews. I was not disappointed & the room was perfect for a short weekend away. It was spacious, minimalist and the shower room was perfect. The plants made it feel like home from home. The location was great for a 15 min walk into the centre and it was lovely to meet Els who made me feel welcomed and made sure I had all I needed for a late arrival. . I’ll definitely recommend it to others.
