The hostel had a great vibe. Absolutely friendly staff. Tay was amazing, went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and helped whenever needed. She was my go-to person. I can't speak or understand any portuguese, she helped me book a cab, find my way around, even whenever my room needed a temperature adjustment as I stayed in a 6 women dorm and everyone's needs are different, she managed to make everyone feel welcomed and comfortable. There were two other men that were in the staff too who were wonderful. The location is perfect, I could just walk to the beach less than 1 minute from the hostel. My first day, I joined in on the hike organized by the hostel. It was an excellent experience. Later at night, there was music and drinks where there were so many people you could mix and mingle with. All the events organized by the hostel were free as well, so that came in handy. Overall a great experience. I never felt lonely or unseen. Such a beautiful experience.

Just the shower could've been a little bit bigger. I found it too small and tight.

The staff are fantastic! Especially Gabrielle, Ian and Gustavo. They all will go out their way to help in anyway they can. If you’re a solo traveller this hostel is perfect as there’s lots of free activities and the bar area is a great way to meet people. The rooms are very clean and beds very comfortable. The hostel is situated in a great location. Strongly recommend Ipanema beach hostel to anyone that’s going to Rio!

Honestly, the best place i've ever stayed. Ana, Ketly, Tayane, Gabriel, and the rest of the team are all incredible. Each one of them are super welcoming, friendly, sociable, knowledgable, and basically just all round good people - not to mention they're all pretty much at least fluently tri-lingual which is quite impressive. The hostel hosts free drinks every night which is great incentive for the guests to meet, mingle, get to know each other, become friends, and create additional plans together. They've even got a WhatsApp group for the guests which is a great way for everyone to stay connected. With good food and drinks at the ready. The hostel also is a part of this group and lets the people what's going on at the time. Aside from the free drink night events, they also arrange activities during the days, at no charge.. you just have to cover your own costs. This includes beach events, exploring the city, and seeing some of the best spots in Rio with incredible hikes. You feel safe being in a group, and with a local who knows their stuff. Great content for the gram, while making friends along the way.. It's what holidays are about, isn't it? The room itself was hotel quality (quality air conditioning is a must in this marvellous but very warm city), made up every day, which even included them neatening up and organising my things which was a lovely touch. The property is a easy 30 second walk to the beach, and has good restaurants and shops in close proximity. The only negative thing that comes to mind is that it's too hard to leave and made me change my plans to come back. I will be back for sure, and am already looking forward to it. i stayed one week and i had a really good experience. the ipanema beach hostel it’s an awesome place to make friends and meet people. they have free caipirinhas every evening and day and night activities. the hostel it’s really social and the staff are also super nice. Eduarda, Matheus and Alef are lovely and they will help with anything.

The bedrooms are a bit small and it’s quite hard to keep it clean, but everyone in my room became friends and we did go out together every night :))

Whenever I come to Rio I stay here, the staff and the attention they give you it’s from another world, everyone’s welcoming, it’s such a nice environment to be in, the hostel promotes activities on a weekly basis, they have free drinks & deals every night! This is the best hostel to stay in Rio by miles.

The location is pretty strategic for me to enjoy Rio. It was only a 2-minute walk to the beach, many restaurants nearby, and places to hang out. The staffs were amazingly kind and helpful! A great place to meet new friends, especially with all the offered activities there. Make sure to join the WhatsApp group because I completely missed that on the first few days of my stay.

Nice location very close to the beach, friendly staffs (thanks Mayara, Christian), lot of activities to explore Rio and good place for solo travelers.

They could have a shared kitchen. But if you need to use fridge or microwave they can do it for you, just need to ask at the reception.

Great staff who are always creating social events to allow travellers to meet. Free hiking and frequently suggesting things to do in the city / for the day. The staff, especially Juana were amazing; continually having a positive and welcoming attitude whilst being eager to help.

The beds need curtains to block light.

The place is very nice, we especially love the concept with the free caipirinhas. The staff amazing, especially Tay, she has an amazing spirit! If you like partying, this is the place to go with the help of the WhatsApp group

All in all was to stay really good, one night there was just a little trouble with the water

The location is excellent. The hostel is the perfect place for solo travellers/even groups especially if you are interested in meeting new people.

The rooms are pretty small and if everyone has a lot of luggage it becomes problematic. When I arrived the room wasn't really clean.
