We liked how the rooms were spacious. The location was near the supermarket and restaurants and other establishments. It was also quick to book a Dart to go to tourist spots. It was notable that we got to taste local dishes during the buffet breakfast. I personally like the Nasi Goreng and Soto Ayam. Ayam Kari which is a staple breakfast dish, is also good. The hotel staffs were attentive to the customer's needs. The receptionist was able to help us give direction going to ATM as we were not able to withdraw cash at the airport. The ones in the restaurant quickly get the empty plates from our table. When we checked-out, we were able to keep our luggages at the reception since our flight was late in the evening. We hope we can come back here and we recommend to stay here for future tourists. Thank you so much! We had a great experience staying here.

Refill of water is available if the hotel restaurant is open or if you request the room to be cleaned.

The staff was phenomenal and helped in every way possible. The room was huge but pretty devoid of furniture. I asked if there were table lamps, a table, and chairs that we could use as none were in the room. They made that happen cheerfully and promptly. A boat tour of the stilt homes was also arranged quickly at a convenient time, although it was only an hour and not the two hours posted. I really appreciated the staff standing at the door wishing us farewell when we left - what a nice touch!

Breakfast was included in our room rate although I never went after the first morning because ALL the choices were barely warm at best. I instead bought fresh rolls at LOF Bakery right across the street. There were lots of small bugs in the room but they didn't bother us.

Great value hotel 10mins drive from the airport. Room was more like an apartment than a room, very comfortable and clean. Staff were kind and helpful and offered airport pick-up. Staff were always happy to help with anything. Gave us a late check out later in the afternoon for 20$ which was perfect given our flight home wasnt until late in the evening. Breakfast had ample selection and staff offered to cook us eggs sunny side up which was a nice touch. The hotel offer river cruises for a small cost which was just beautiful even with the short downpour. Lots of restaurants close by with options for everyone. I really can't fault this little gem of a hotel. I'd definitely stay again and would recommend it for anyone on a short stopover.

Nothing definitely good value for what it cost.

If you are aware that is 3* hotel you'll be happy what you get for your money. Hotel provide transport from and to airport for B$20 each ride. Staff is realy helpfull, specialy Mr Sahfuan. On our arrival he hellped us to get sim card and give us some tips about shops around hotel. He organise tour around Bandar Seri Begawan after we were so happy. Around hotel there are plenty of shops and restaurants. There's no much taxis in the city but we use hotel transport service ( almost same price as taxi). Hotel is clean, room was so spacious. Restaurant clean and there is local variaty of food. We had great stay in Al Afiah Hotel.

Bed linen clean but could be better ironing. AC is working but it's directed to the bed and it was so unpleasant. They should provide separate soap, shampoo and body wash.

Everything was amazing !! Al afiah hotel is the best hotel to stay in Brunei for few days. Is the best location possible. You can do everything by walking. Next to the two famous masjid (20min walk), a lot of street foods market, museum. Everything. The workers was very nice with us, available 24/24 for everything. The breakfast was so yummy and tasty 😍😍 you can try a lot of local dishes. The room was very clean and very spacious also. 2 prayer room in the hotel also to pray mashaAllah

Everything was good al’hamdoulilah

The shower was great. No bathtub to step into. The staff were very friendly. We had an issue with the water being discoloured on our last night, and the staff helped by giving us water bottles. For what you get for the price, it is worth it. The location is right next to multiple shops and restaurants/cafes.

The bathroom was always hot. It was in stark contrast to the room which was adjusted through the AC system. A sewer smell would sometimes come from nowhere. Even when we hadn't used it for hours. The bed was slightly hard. I think I'm just used to sleeping on soft beds. So I struggled to get fully comfortable.

The best were the staff. I have rarely seen anywhere such polite people. Each and every one of them greeted me with smile every time and they helped me with any issue that I had. The hotel itself is excellent. Very clean, very comfortable, huge room and everything that you need in the room. Location is good. It is close to the city center and easy to reach from the airport. It is basically located in a shopping mall, and you have absolutely everything that you need in front of the hotel, from supermarket, to bakery, to restaurants, to clothes store, to barber. Buffet breakfast was excellent with different choice every morning. I had wi-fi in the room and it worked quite well. To top it off, the price was quite reasonable, so it is great value for money

Exceptionally friendly staff. Everyone I encountered in the hotel was kind, smiling, helpful and professional. This is a very pleasant place to stay. The room was pretty large, perfectly clean and comfortable. A strong AC unit which did not make too much noise. The hotel also has a small gym on the first floor. Everything was clean and well maintained. Breakfast featured some local dishes such as Kueh. Next door to the hotel is a large supermarket in case you need to buy something.

No fresh veggies/salad on breakfast buffet

Surprisingly good to what we expected. Had an unexpected overnight early Feb, so booked this as it was well priced – about $US65 inc taxes for a King bedded room for 2, with breakfast. Had an email from them day before asking it we wanted a driver with name card meeet us at airport to the trip inwards for $US15 and as as we arrived 10pm sounded wise as Taxis there are pretty sketchy. Guy was there with a sign so all good. Upgraded us at check-in to an Executive Suite which was very kind. Had a 4pm flight next day so asked sweetly if a 2pm checkout was OK – no problem. Booked their car for that too Modern room, 2 x good AC, and a view even. TV super crappy. 2 or 3 Musim Propoganda type channels in Malay, and Malay News, and nothing else really of interest to tourists. No CNN or BBC etc – easy to do. BIG downside to this place. Water in shower tepid at best even in morning so again needs fixing. Surrounded by all kinds of shops so an interesting hour wandering about shopping around hotel. FAST and reliable Wi-Fi – so totally lacking from the best ‘Hotel Sabah’ in Sandakan the week before, which was a disgrace. Assume NOTHING in these areas. Nice extensive buffet breakfast that ran to 10.30am. Be hard to beat for location and value I’d suggest. They are right on the river and run speedboat tours up to the dense mangroves for about $US10 a person using their own boats and jetty right by front door. We did one and spotted Probiscis monkeys up trees along the way. Nothing much else to do in the capital city so a handy time killer.

An excellent hotel. Very clean and quiet. The transportation services were excellent. Even though the hotel is a distance from downtown, they offer van service at a very reasonable price that will take you anywhere you want to go. The boat tour of Brunei that's offered was interesting and well worth the price. Breakfast was nice--just realize that it's not a Western-style buffet. l would stay there again.
