Right at the reception desk the staff were very friendly and helpful. Ryan in particular was great! The room was a good size which included a large bed, desk with chair, a large comfy chair and two stools located with the "bar" setup. A Nespresso machine and mini-fridge were included in this setup. Snacks and beverages could be purchased if you wanted. The room was serviced every morning with new towels provided and the bed made up. A turn-down service took place in the evening along with two cookies which was a nice touch. Staff would come around to provide ice and replenish coffee pods, sugar, cream, etc. for making coffee. I had brunch in the restaurant which was very good. The restaurant itself is high quality. Overall the staff was certainly a bonus. It was nice to be welcomed back in the evening after being out.

The hotel is lovely and our room was spacious and comfortable with the amenities needed to make it work well. The staff, however, is what really makes this hotel so wonderful. We stayed two nights and then took the Rocky Mountaineer train to Banff. I realized the night after we left that I couldn’t find something that has no monetary value but means the world to me emotionally. I thought I may have dropped it in the hotel room. I called the Wedgewood and the phone was answered by a lovely man and I could hear his empathy and concern for me in his voice. He immediately sent housekeeping up to look for the object. He called me back and was very upset when he told me they had not found it. I subsequently found it in a hidden place in my suitcase so all was well, (and I called them back to let them know) but his concern was typical of the staff. Very caring and wonderful people! Breakfast, BTW, is outstanding. The location is perfect.

The rooms and beds are perfect, a treat. Strong blackout curtains. Staff is very nice.

There’s nowhere to park comfortably. The staff tries to be so accommodating that they make you feel uncomfortable, a burden. You can’t do anything by yourself. Someone has to do it for you and then you end up spending lots of money on tips. Breakfast was not as high quality as one would expect at a hotel of this price. We ordered a cup of fruit for $9 and it literally came with two pieces of melon and two of pineapple. Bagel and lox didn’t have a good bagel. Etc. Also, you can hear some noise from the street in the rooms- sirens and such. We travel with a noise machine so it didn’t end up being such a problem.

Old world charm hotel with excellent service and an amazing restaurant. Great location in central city near high end shopping and restaurant area. Clean and comfortable beds and room with plenty of space.

Only issue was noise in our room as it was situated over the service alley behind the hotel. Poor sound proofing meant could hear a lot of street noise, garage trucks at 7am and central air con external unit. They did offer us a room swap after our second night but as we only had one more night to stay, did not take up the offer. Would definitely stay again but make sure asked for room away from that side of the building.

We were made to feel so welcome as soon as we arrived, David met us at reception and was wonderful, the staff couldn’t have been nicer and service was amazing. We had a beautiful room with a balcony looking out on Vancouver Art Gallery and Hornsby Street but there was no traffic noise at all, great soundproofing. Breakfast was delicious, loads of choice and a lovely dining room. My only regret is that we went out for supper, I wish we’d eaten at Bacchus restaurant on site instead. We will absolutely be back next time we’re in Vancouver, everything was perfect ☺️

Nothing, it was all perfect

This hotel is a classic, luxury hotel with large, comfortable rooms, friendly, service-oriented staff, and good facilities. The hotel bar/lounge was a highlight, with top-quality food and drink, but reasonably priced. Service was the standout for this classic hotel, everyone from the valet, restaurant and spa employees were all extremely helpful and pleasant and made us feel right at home. The location couldn't have been better. We were within walking distance of everything we wanted to see in the city, as well as great restaurants and bars nearby. We will definitely be back.

There was virtually nothing we didn't like. I can't think of any improvements needed.

The location in the centre and the room size ( we were in a luxe king room with city view).

There is still noise coming from the street at night, although there is a park in the front of the hotel. Spa facilities are poor: only one steam room if free, the rest of the Spa is not included in the already high room fee. We booked 5 nights trough BOOKING.com, we saw cheaper rates during our stay. I contacted booking by mail and by telephone , they refused to aline the price even tough I provid all they asked ( link to the cheaper rate, meal info and room type). It took 20 hours with no news, then I phoned the customer service and they wanted also a printscreen. too late of course for taking this. Booking is changing the rules of the game while playing! Advice: do not book via Booking.

i ORDERED ONE NIGHT IN FOR A DINNER. iT WAS WAY TOO COSTLY FOR THE SPARSE AMOUNT OF FOOD I GOT.

WHEN I RETURNED TO MY ROOM AFTER A DAY OUT, I NOTICED THE TUB HADN'T BEEN CLEANED. I TOLD HOUSEKEEPING AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT STANDARD PROCEDURE TO CLEAN THE TUB. I ASKED IF THEY COULD SEND CLEANSER, LIKE AJAX OR COMET, SO I COULD CLEAN IT MYSELF. THEY SENT SOME ONE UP TO CLEAN IT. THEY ACTED LIKE IT WAS NOT IN THEIR JOB DESCRIPTION. THAT MADE ME WONDER HOW MANY OTHER TASKS ARE NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES.

what an excellent facility. loved every minute we spent there, from the ambiance, christmas decorations (which were absolutely gorgeous), to the diffuser in the lobby and it's excellent central city location!

the restaurant seems to have some problems scheduling, and if i had not double-checked on our tea time, which i had reserved a month or so earlier, we would not have been booked. i' not sure what the problem is, but if you're going to use the hotel restaurant, you need to make your reservations carefully and follow up.

A very warm and welcoming feeling as soon as you walked through the front door.The staff were all excellent , nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant looked just perfect and our bar food was good and delivered in good time. The bar area was traditional and cosy with a real fire.

The rooms area little dated and tired in places. our bathroom was quite small with a shower over the bath tub. We were next to the lift which was a little intrusive for me, a light sleeper.
