We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gladstone House. The entire staff was very friendly and welcoming. There was a wonderful laid back, cool, hip vibe about the place, without a whiff of attitude. The decor was fun and modern but also gave a nod to the hotel's historic heritage. Our room was spacious, the bed was comfy and the shower pressure was fantastic. The hotel is located in a great neighborhood with plenty of bars, bakeries and restaurants. There is a streetcar stop just outside the front door, so you can get downtown in no time flat. There is even a grocery store located directly behind the hotel if you're looking for some snacks for your room. On our next visit to Toronto we will definitely be booking a room here again!

Everything was great!

The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is located on a busy corner on Queen West and they went out of their way to help us get our luggage to our room and get us settled in. We loved the historic, manually operated elevator staffed by the hotel personell. We also liked how each room featured the artwork of a Toronto artist. The rooms are modern, clean and sophisticated. We also loved the Nespresso machine available to all guests on the fourth floor.

The street noise in the morning was a little loud, however, it did not overshadow our excellent experience. It would not prevent us from returning. I did find the hotel to be a little expensive.

Very well-designed room, everything very well-thought of. Good lighting, comfortable bed, lots of room to sit around. One of the best and practical hotel rooms design that we have encountered.

The elevator can only be operated by staff, so you have to call them every time you want to go up or down (luckily we were on the 2nd floor so took the stairs). Room was noisy: Street noise and ambulances at night, and noise from inside the hotel early in the morning (they have work areas for guests on the floors, which is a nice idea, but we woke up to a conference call outside our room early in the early morning). The aircondition in the room was also loud. We asked to extend our stay by one hour and check out at 13 instead of 12. It seemed they had vacancies, and still would ask 30 dollars for that. We found that somewhat petty.

bed super comfy; staff were super friendly. loved the decor and architecture of the hotel - very unique and excellent vibe. not in a big box hotel. room had all the amenities, simple but complete. access to buses across the street, in front of hotel, so can go anywhere with public transit.

the price was high but that was expected as was attending a conference that had over 40,000 people so all hotel prices in toronto was high. location was a distant away from core downtown, bus ride of 45 minutes.

The room was beautiful, we loved the large windows, the window seats, the large soaking tub, the decor, the pillows. The staff was great! The communication was on point. Loved the quick responses. Accommodating when we requested extras (wine delivered to the room). Their wine recommendation was superb! . It was a beautiful building. The artwork was wonderful We shared a burger before our event in the hotel restaurant and the portion was huge, flavor amazing and the got it out to us very quick!

Noise from outside was loud, the bed was t too comfortable and it was so loud when the heat turned on every 10 minutes.

It was very nice to stay in this boutique hotel that had a lot of character versus the standard hotel facilities. We loved the rooms and the coffee options. The Bistro was excellent where we had a great dinner and breakfast the following morning. We appreciated the "text" communications to help us find parking and any questions we had were answered very quickly. Thanks.

Nothing that we can think of. The elevator (oldest in Toronto) had some uncertainty being on the 4th floor although the staff did support us by getting us up to our room.

My favourite accommodation of the four T.O. hotels I stayed in over the week. This is largely in part of how beautifully decorated the hotel was. Found the Studio Queen spacious for one person. Bed was very comfortable; staff, both at reception and bistro were friendly; and loved the local art displayed in my room and on each floor. Public transit stops in front and across the hotel and there are restaurants (fast food and dine-in) aplenty along Queen W.. There is also a grocery store behind and across from GH.

A pool table was situated close to my room so there was some noise when being used. I knew when booking the accommodation that the room did not have a fridge, microwave etc.. It was not an issue for me but it might be a negative for some.

Liked pretty much everything! The toiletries smelled amazing, though for the shampoo and conditioner it felt like a lot more attention was paid to the scent than to the product formula, performance on those was mediocre. Not the hotel's fault, they don't make them, but just a bit of feedback. If you've got anything but super 'normal' mostly-straight hair, bring your own hair products. Popped into the Melody Bar for a quick drink and was delighted to find a super fun live band playing. Stuck around for a second drink and listened to their last set. (Bandname: Gen X, apparently they have a monthly gig there.) The blackout blinds being on a remote felt bougie in a fun way.

Could not get TV to work but really didn't care, was just there for one night and just to sleep. Didn't want to bother desk staff after having to have them come up to try to help me turn the thing on, then the channels would not change but I just went to sleep instead. All good. The metal rack clothes hanger is a bit form-over-function. Same with the shower drains, but neither were a major bother, just more pretty than useful.

Rooms are very clean, modern, and well designed. The amenities are really nice and the location is great. Beautiful art throughout the common areas and rooms. Very comfortable beds and sheets.

Sometimes the price goes up double on weekend which makes it hard to go consistently. Drains in the seamless showers don’t work that great and get the bathroom floor wet.

From check in to throughout our stay all was very good. Friendly staff, clean and comfy rooms and great service and food at the bar/restaurant. It is located in a fun neighbourhood with lots of funky little shops and places to eat - 4 French patisseries within a few blocks! Yum!!

The only glitch in our stay was not getting a printed receipt that we need to attach to our Tax Return this year. Our province has granted a 20% tax credit for 'staycations' for staying and supporting hotels, etc. 'at home' instead of heading out of province or country when travelling post pandemic. This was very disappointing for us.
