First of all: Nicest host you could imagine, with excellent recommendations who really goes out of her way to make you feel at home and enjoy your stay! Great attention without being pushy. All the other staff members were lovely too! The hotel is a calm oasis in the middle of nature, but just far away from the loud and bustling town to get everywhere easily by foot, bicycle or tuktuk. The rooms are spotless and spacious, the attached kitchens are equipped with everything you could wish for, the AC works perfectly fine and the pool area is well maintained. The rooms have cosy balconies/verandas that give you privacy and everywhere there's lots of small stylish details showing the big love that is put in that place. I stayed 1 week with my wife and 3 kids in a double room with an extra bed, which was more than spacious enough, also because of the huge common area and outside kitchen just in front of the two rooms where we all could come together to cook, eat or hang out. After I brought my family to the airport I came back for another week 😂

Everything was outstanding!

Staff were lovely and always happy to help, on our last day we had a shuttle coming to us that we weren’t sure was going to turn up and the owner got up really early to make sure they turned up with alternate provisions at the ready if they didn’t. Another staff member gave us loads of recommendations on what to do. The pool was cute with fairy lights, and places to lounge around the edge. You could hear howler monkeys from the hotel and saw lots of birds near the pool. The room was clean and modern, pretty decor and had a fridge, spacious, terrace was big.

The walk to town was down a road that was not lit up very well, at night this was a little scary for us so we aimed to get back before dark. (The area is safe though, locals are friendly). Pool had some bugs in it, but it is to be expected near the jungle, also the birds would eat any they saw haha.

Visited Puerto Viejo, choosing La Tica y Gata as our base. Even before we arrived, we were contacted by Browi, welcoming us in advance and providing documentation by WhatsApp. When we arrived, Browi greeted us and showed us to our apartment, explaining things as we walked. We had a short stay here, and the setting was perfect. The room and facilities are spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The hosts. Stella and Browi live on site and are available for advice and local knowledge as necessary. Even to the point that Browi provided us with information and links to other places of interest in Costa Rica. This is a gem of a place in Puerto Viejo and thoroughly recommended if you are planning to visit here.

We had a very pleasant stay at this accomodation. The terrace, where the kitchen is located, is great for cooking and relaxing together. We had a lot of fun using the swimming pool. The receptionist Tatjana offered great advices for visiting the region and the rooms were cleaned every day. We would recommend to come by car, since there is a longer way to got to the beach and the town.

Loved everything about this accommodation. We were a group of 4 so we had a two bedroom apartment with an outdoor kitchen and living area.Loved this arrangement. Quite secluded because of all the lovely foliage.Staff more than helpful. Loved the pool area.Its about a 10/ 15 minute walk to the town but we loved this as we had plenty of wildlife around us.There was a two toed sloth in the tree right outside our accommodation. Would definitely recommend this very well run establishment

Rooms are beautiful, big and comfortable with everything you need. Pool area is great. Incredibly helpful and kind stuff (especially the guy at the reception and Christina online). They gave really good tips where to eat and what to see. Good location close to Puerto Viejo center and the beach.

The open living room + kitchen looks nice with a good vibe but not too practical: monkeys stole our food one night, they opened a half-locked plastic box, cannot leave valuables, no privacy as everyone is walking to their apartment right before your open living room, cannot sleep with open doors so our kids were afraid in the room as the rooms are not connected (they were even afraid to leave the room at night to go to the toilet as monkeys came to our living room), etc. All minor things though and overall it’s a great place!

A beautiful quiet and comforting place to call home when you’re visiting Puerto Viejo. Landscaping and design makes this a perfect private getaway. Well equipped for making the most of your stay, and interaction with personnel was always positive and welcoming.

The location is off the main road which is definitely an advantage with regards to noise but when it rains it is a bit of a challenge to navigate at night.

The owner and manager of the accommodation are very friendly and helpful. The accommodation consists of several apartments in one complex, which has a heated and very beautiful pool surrounded by palm trees. It was an interesting experience staying with an outdoor kitchen and a living room that added a nice touch to our journey through Costa Rica. The beds were comfortable. Apartment cleaning and towel changes were done daily, what we appreciated.

it was perfect- exactly what we were looking for. close to town and nice clean accommodations. The folks the the front desk were lovely. Not sure if she was the titular “Gata” but the little calico lady who had coffee on our porch every morning was a friendly little cutie as well- we were sad to say goodbye to her!

The walk was a little far to actually get to the main road (but certainly doable!). We also had some issues with mosquitoes the first night or two (maybe coming in around the door frame or in from the bathroom?) but it was nothing too crazy and as long as we cranked the AC and pointed it at our bed and got under the blankets they left us alone!
