My stay at Hotel Sveti Jakov is without a doubt the best hotel stay I have ever experienced. The hotel itself is so beautiful, and the room we got was lovely, spacious, beautiful, and had a fantastic view. Everything was always kept clean and tidy. The breakfast was outstanding, and it was so pleasant to start each day with this feast provided by the hotel staff. However, what stands out the most is how wonderful and welcoming the staff was. Throughout my stay, all the hotel staff made every effort to make our experience at the hotel the best it could be. Overall, our stay at the hotel was absolutely magnificent, and I look forward to coming back and staying at Hotel Sveti Jakov again. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to any traveler looking for good accommodation in an incredibly beautiful setting at a well-located hotel, and especially where you feel that the staff prioritizes your excellent experience.

We had absolutely wonderful time staying in Hotel Sveti Jakov. It is an secret gem of Opatija, small, private, boutiquish, with excellent facilities, comfort, beautiful historical building and interiors. Not just a stay, it was an experience. The hospitality of Mikhaela brought the stay for us to another level, she made us feel so welcomed and home. We are definitely going to come back again and make Hotel Sveti Jakov our favourite destination for romantic getaway.

The hotel is in fact a beautifully restored villa from end of 19th century. Being there you can feel how was it to be in Opatija 130 years ago. From one side the hotel is facing historical main street of Opatija and from the other side beautiful St. Jakov park across which is the sea and beaches. The hotel is conveniently located in centre of Opatija so you can have a nice walk on the seaside and get anywhere in the city on foot. Hotel personal is very friendly, kind, and helpful and for breakfast they offer range of sweet and salty food, all of them very good. They even have a machine so you can even squeeze your own fresh juice.

Parking is a bit trickier. No, you don’t need any special driver’s skills to park, but if you’d park there for a longer period when multiple guests with cars are there, they’ll ask you for your car keys because they may need to move the cars in order to unpark those which came earlier.

Everything about this hotel is exceptional. The location is incredible, the rooms are classical, in pristine condition, the breakfast is by far one of the best I've experienced. Cherry on top is the hotel staff, absolutely everyone is incredibly kind, professional and charming. Each one of them have an excelent eye for detail and memorise the little things that make the stay even more special. I would love to come back solely because of the amazing people working here. You are greatly appreciated, thank you so much!!

Everything was great, cannot find one negative thing.

This was my best hotel experience ever. The room was luxurious, including robes and slippers. Customer service was beyond impeccable, including check-in with prosecco, first-class dinner service with delicious food, an unexpected bottle of prosecco at the end of our second day, and complimentary coffee and croissants at checkout. Note that the surprise prosecco was because we weren't able to book simultaneous massages at the spa next door, which brings up another point. Although this location is a small boutique hotel, guests have full access to the amenities at the larger, adjacent sister-hotel with free use of sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and pool plus a full menu of for-pay spa services. Some of the other extras may have been possible because our stay was during off/shoulder season but guests will be guaranteed royal treatment by wonderfully attentive management and staff.

There wasn't anything I didn't like.

We actually stayed in Amadria Milenij, next door. We were told we would get a free upgrade?!?, since Sv. Jakov is closed. I specifically booked in Sv. Jakov better big rooms, because the size of the rooms matters to me. The rooms in Milenij were quite small and overlooking busy street and generators. Otherwise the hotel is great, really amazing, it is something special. The breakfast was great and the staff is mostly very nice.

As mentioned above: i was really disappointed and felt played out, since we got two small rooms, although I booked really big rooms at S. Jakov Amadria. Another downturn was the location of the room, right above the noisy machinery (heating, generators, air-con...I dont know about machines) and busy street. Nobody asked us if we were happy with the change or did anything to make us feel, that they are grateful for accepting last-minute change to our plans. So, for a 5 star hotel there are these details that really matter and they should be working on them, since it is a shame, because both hotels are really a treat.

The stuff was excellent. Very welcoming and at our service. The breakfest was really good and tasteful. We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was great, jacuzzi tub on the balcony looking over the botanical garden was over the top. We Will come back. Thank you very much.

We had an amazing stay! The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a great variety to choose from. The highlight, however, was the incredibly welcoming receptionist—she was so friendly and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Highly recommend!

From the minute we arrived we were made to feel so welcome, the staff treated us like royalty, invited us to enjoy a glass of Prosecco in the garden while they completed the Check-in formalities. We were shown to our room where our luggage had already been placed.

The only negative was that we were only staying one night - The hotel and the staff are truly exceptional - we will be back as soon as possible.
