Let me clarify some of other people's comments so you get a better idea of this place; - food: great, as a vegan/vegetarian there are lots of options, the bad thing is that it's a bit repetitive every day - snacks: snacks are available but it's just pizza (not that delicious) some fries and you can make your own hamburgers, that's it, this is what I least liked. - bar: people seem to complain about the watered down drinks, but it was fine with me. Great service and delicious cocktails! - room: I stayed on the 2nd floor and had no issues with hot water (some people who stayed on the 3rd floor did have issues though). The room has a nice balcony, is very spacious and the AC did work perfectly. - location: superb! In front of the hotel there's even a supermarket if you need anything, safe area. - staff: amazing and helpful! - beach: amazing, clean, just a few vendors but they're lovely and not pushy at all. Be careful if you swim in the ocean as the waves are pretty dangerous!
Everything was perfect, just would've been nice to have more variety in food. Out of the five days I stayed here, 2 days the food was exceptional, the other days it was, alright.. There should be more variety in snacks definitely, at least different styles of pizza.

I have visited many resorts and I can say that Viva Tangerine has been my best culinary experience, in terms of variety, quality, service and hygiene. The rooms that were initially assigned to us were a disaster, they are neglected, they had no water, the beds were weak and more. The manager Kelvin was very kind and offered us two other rooms with ocean views and offered us a reservation at one of the a la carte restaurants. all the staff are very helpful and fun. My daughters had fun playing Dominoes, Uno and other board games available.
The garden view rooms. They are run down, outdated; feel like a motel room.

the staff in charge of entertainment was amazing, and the overall staff was super friendly, really felt homey. the food and drinks are fair. but the highlight is definitely the entertainment staff!
The beach was almost everyday closed, police would not allow people to go in the water, hence all the water sport features of the hotel were not useable. They offer kayaks, windsurd, stand up paddle, etc, but you can’t even get in the water unless you get a private kitesurf instructor.

The hotel seems to be close to the main street and I thought it would be noisy; I did not expect the quiet peaceful stay we had; the food was amazing, and the STAFF omg - sooo FRIENDLY...so far the nicer in all the hotels we been to in DR. I'm a native from Puerto Plata and have been to many hotels in Puerto Plata and Punta Cana but I have to say that the staff here were the best by far. oh and let me not forget the "quiet party" and the amazing performance by the entertainers, great activities by the pool as well as the Michael Jackson show!
The one thing I didnt like was the team who were selling the timeshares. It felt a little be too much to be by the pool around the clock and right outside the restaurant with the buffet constantly asking to do a meet with them; I also did not like the vendors by the beach were allowed to go right into the place where we were resting. My teenagers daughters avoided the beach because of the excessive requests from vendors trying to sell; this is NOT okay.

The staff were great. My room was clean and had a front view to the beach.
It was hard to get food with dietary restrictions. I paid extra for the ocean view room but didn’t realize that meant I’d never be able to sleep. The theatre was on my floor. I was above the restaurant and right in front of me was constant entertainment outside. There should be a disclaimer when booking those rooms.

The Staff was awesome, very upbeat, and always willing an available to help and serve. The hotel was always very clean and well-kept. Food always available.
As in most all inclusive resorts, the liquor is very cheap and awful. Only drank beer (it was good beer). As in all resorts, they put sugar on all cocktails instead of offering an option for diabetics to use artificial sweetners. The bar closed at 1am or 2am depending on the day. After that there was nothing to do. The snack bar only had hamburgers, hotdogs, nachos, and fries, all day, all night (no variety). The shows needed more work. Dancers needed more choreography, they were not in sync.

EVERYTHING WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND VERY CLEAN, MOST STAFF WAS VERY POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL. THE BEACH WAS BEAUTIFUL BUT VERY WINDY, PERFECT FOR ALL THE PARA-SAILORS! THAT WAS ALSO FUN TO WATCH. IT WAS A FUN PLACE TO BE AND I AM HAPPY WITH MY STAY THERE.
I DID NOT LIKE THAT JENNIFER FROM THE ENTERTAINMENT STAFF, WAS DANCING WITH MY FIANCE WHEN I CAME BACK FROM THE BATHROOM. I FELT VERY VIOLATED. AND THE REST OF THE ENTERTAINMENT STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY BUT I FELT IT WAS ONLY BECAUSE THEY WANTED US TO FETCH THEM ALCOHOLIC DRINKS. OTHER THAN THAT, IT WAS LOVELY.

All the staff were attentive and friendly without fail - from the front desk to the beach supplies to the waitstaff -- everyone was cheerful and helpful. They were the highlight of the stay, because we always felt welcome. My picky-eater child was always able to find something that he could eat at every meal (what a relief) and the teenagers loved that there were "snack hours" outside of meal times. The food at the "reserve" restaurants was *very* good so definitely recommend you make a reservation if you are there (at the buffet it was basic and a little bland, but that's a buffet). The location in April was very windy and the surf definitely rough but, again, the teenagers loved that -- so much more fun to boogie board than a boring, calm ocean.
We had some issues with the rooms getting regularly cleaned (we had two rooms; each got "skipped" at least one day) and when we asked for extra supplies (toilet paper, towels) they didn't always arrive. This was our first time at an all-inclusive and we were annoyed that some things were not "included" - for example, the safes in the rooms. For goodness sake, just up the room rate $2 and make it included - and there was one restaurant that was also not included -- why not just include it? It seems odd to nickle-and-dime and that was what we wanted to avoid -- not having to think about anything.

Food was very good, staff was super friendly, hotel isn't that big but has all you need to relax, there is also a lot of entertainments, like Zumba, yoga, etc. Would definitely recommend it!
There was an incident with a tourist and instead of solving it at the counter, security was discussing it in the hall way, all was good except this, as it happened at 5-6 AM! So I think for next time the security/staff needs to be more prudent and solve the issue later or at another place so the rest of the guests can have a good night sleep!
