What a Gem in Aswan! When I booked Artika did not have a lot of expectations, only read the good reviews here. We were in for a surprise! This is probably the most amazing hotel ever! We got a free upgrade to a Nile Villa and if you can afford, make sure to book it. Your room will have a terrace directly at the Nile! People were all so incredibly friendly and shout out to Mahmood who took really good care of us whenever we wanted something to drink or dinner. We would have actually loved to stay at Artika for more than 2 nights. The room was really nice, stays cool during the day and the bed was so comfortable. Everything was simply perfect! On our last night the staff organized a romantic dinner with flowers, candle light, music and some Nubian dancing! Thank you to everyone at Artika for making our stay unforgettable! We will definitely recommend you to everyone travelling to Aswan!

This is really nice location next to Nubian village. The houses, rooms and everything within the hotel area is so nicely painted. It is clean and the staff is very polite being there for you. The hotel has different locations where you can sit and enjoy your free time. We tried some delicious food and drinks in their restaurant. The breakfast was good with a beautiful view over the Nile river. Also, the night and morning walk around the hotel offers you some good options for shopping or just wandering around narrow streets full of life. Would absolutely come back.

We opted for the taxi service and were met at the airport by a lovely person (sorry, I’ve forgotten all names!) who got us there while pointing out all the local sights. On arriving, what a lovely place! Artika feels absolutely serene, you have the Nile right next to you, and it’s all so quiet. Food was absolutely delicious (with fantastic vegetarian and vegan options), and the drinks were great too. Everyone working was absolutely lovely, and so helpful and caring. Always willing to help with anything you could possibly think of or need. Blissful. They had a few really cute and friendly dogs and puppies as well, but were also always ready to move them away for someone in our group who was scared of dogs. Rooms were really spacious and the beds are huge! Overall, an absolute pleasure to stay here, and would love to come back again! Thank you so much for everything, to all the staff at Artika.

It's a very charming, quirky property outside of Aswan but right next to a souk. It's very Nubian, colourful and peaceful. There are two restaurants. Breakfast is typically Egyptian and substantial. It overlooks the Nile, so you have pleasant views depending on which room you're assigned. The bathrooms are unique and functional. The water isn't very hot for showering. The staff is kind and helpful.

Being outside of the city, you have to make arrangements to get around... mostly by boat. The price is a bit high for the standards of the property. While the facilities are all functional, they are not at a European or North American level yet that is not reflected in the pricing. Overall, though, it is a lovely, relaxing place.

price of meals was the most expensive of anywhere we’ve been in Egypt in a week. like up to triple cost. anything from this place. food. drinks. activity. transport is very expensive.

Absolutely loved our stay at artika Wadi Kiki! They upgraded our room on arrival as the place was quite quiet to the most beautiful room with doors opening directly onto the nile, and a huge circular window you could see from the bed also looking out onto the nile. Everything was clean and beautiful, Mohammed looked after us our entire stay, picking us up from the train station, setting up a coffee tasting under the stars, and arranging a solo boat trip down the nile at sunset. The food was delicious. I'm vegetarian and Mahmoud arranged a selection of vegetable tagine for me every night we ate there, and my partner said all the meat and fish was great. Everything came with bread and salad and tahini. Breakfast was included and was a huge spread of food served in the gorgeous riverside restaurant. Couldn't recommend enough.

It's good to be aware that the hotel is quite a way down the nile, very calm and very peaceful, but you need a taxi or a boat ride to go anywhere else. The staff at artika Wadi Kiki will arrange either for you.

Way ahead of my trip I called Mohamed Tarek and Bakr from italy to organize several aspects of the trip in aswan but also from aswan to cairo and they were constantly available and very friendly. Upon our arrival Mohamed took us (me and my 5 Italian friends) in a very entertaining tour about the hotel’s construction and history and I must say after that tour we felt home. The food options were various and made with lots of love. The after dinner gatherings were fun and cultural connecting. They are very patient and friendly all the time, they sought always to make the most of our trip and troubleshoot well all the problems we faced. I will definitely return.

The only thing that I see as a drawback was the unavailability of card payment at the end of our stay. Though Mohamed promised he would work on it.

No words can describe the entire team at the Artika Hotel. We were treated extremely well. The hotel’s structure is charming, the restaurant's food is wonderful (special mention to the breakfast falafel, hibiscus tea, and don’t miss having dinner at the hotel), right on the banks of the Nile River!!! The restaurant waiters do everything to make you feel very special; while you're dining, they bring flowers and candles to the table. The photos can't capture the place; it's much better in person. If you're going to Aswan, you need to stay there! Not to mention the Nubian village, which is also a unique experience, very charming.

The only downside was the WiFi, which didn’t work very well, but I think that’s a general characteristic of all of Egypt.

The hotel is huge and very lovely. It is lying next to the Nile with a really relaxing atmosphere. The hotel organized a pick-up for us at the airport and helped us move around the village. The service was very good and always punctual. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming. They don't really speak English but they try their best. The culinary experience here was a highlight of our holiday, offering top-quality food. We were pleasantly surprised by the daily delivery of fresh flowers. Moreover, the rooms perfectly matched their online representations, ensuring that our expectations were consistently met.

A proper reception with an English-speaking service would be helpful we didn't really know to whom we should turn with questions. There is no daily cleaning for the room and also daily water offering would have been great.

The location in the village is lovely and calm, pretty views and nice surroundings, can easily walk to the souk in a minute The meals I had there were very good, so much variety. Beautiful hotel, the chalet I stayed in was cute and colourful in keeping with the colourful houses of the village. I was upgraded on arrival which was very kind of them. The staff really make this place! I was a solo female traveller and they really looked after me, all knew me by name and they honestly couldn’t do enough for you.

Nothing I didn’t like. I guess maybe one day a pool might be nice but it’s pretty perfect without one.
