The location was great, just opposite from the public ferry which takes you into the heart of Luxor. The room was great, the staff were very friendly.

The breakfast was OK, but nothing special - having a few more items would have been nice as it lacked substance.

My son and I traveled in Egypt for 8 days at the end of October 2024. Part of our trip included 2 ½ days and 2 nights in Luxor. El Mesala Hotel was great for its location and experiencing the west bank. Amed was a great help in arranging a guide for touring the East bank of Luxor and a sunset Felucca ride on the Nile. The view from balcony of our room of the Nile and across to the East bank was great. The view from the restaurant on the top of the hotel was even better, nothing like eating, drinking, and relaxing while taking in Nile and Luxor. The food was good and plenty of it at the restaurant. I highly recommend El Mesala Hotel for your stay in Luxor and will say if you don’t stay El Mesala Hotel you made a mistake. JTH

There was nothing that we did not like.

I loved the location. Especially front view with sunrise behind the Luxor skyline (temple and all) and with call to prayer on a Friday. Beautiful location to eat your in restaurant. Breakfast was good with friendly staff who always tried to please.Management very helpful and concerned that you are safe and enjoying your stay. A true Egyptian experience with a good atmosphere. Not 5 star but authentic with a little hub bub and yet little noisy traffic. Just what I wanted. Front view definitely made it for me.

Needs more attention to maintaining appliances in room. (eg. Heater). More attention to finite cleaning requirements (eh. Light switches) Lovely restaurant area on roof level could cause issues for those with mobility issues. While you can do stairs, well worth the effort though.

View over the Nile, free breakfast, cheese I all ways forward to, good omelette, staff fantastic, very young but were very intelligent and savvy with hassles outside the hotel, felt well informed. Had an issue with TV, towels and the room to be cleaned, sorted immediately, without being ignored or forgotten about.

Not the hotels problem, but minibuses would gather outside the hotel at 4am, so find a rear room. But the future looks even busier due a new coach area just being finished and opening soon, just more traffic and noise ,day and night.

Location is very convenient. Mini vans are right next to the hotel. Also the harbour for boats to cross the river. It has restaurant in the roof top.

Power electricity was cutted many times, but i assume it is some kind of problem hotel can't solve. WiFi is not so fast....

Location is excellent! It was amazing having a private balcony with a view of the Nile, nice to sit out and enjoy in the evenings. Pool was great for cooling off during hotter hours. Osama is very thoughtful and they didn't push the excursions on us which is great as we prefer to do our own thing. I much prefer these smaller places to the big soulless "fancy" hotels

Maaybe more variety at breakfast. The omelettes were nice though

We had a lovely welcome at the Mesala, and after being shown our room we were taken up to the roof terrace where we were given a welcome drink and an explanation of where we were and what was available, with no pressure. The room is a little cramped, but adequate and the view from our balcony was fantastic, as was the view from the roof terrace. The breakfast was freshly cooked, the best we've had in Egypt, and the fresh orange juice is a treat. If you don't stay here, then definitely eat here! It is very well placed for trips to the Valley of the Kings, and right by the boat ferry and speedboat station to take you across to the Luxor Temple on the East Bank. You can wake up in the morning and watch the sun rise over Luxor Temple from the roof terrace. If you want to be in the mix and see things if you only have a short time as we did, this is the place!

The shower curtain is a bit of a challenge!

We had an excellent stay at the El Mesala. It's the perfect place to stay for exploring Luxor. It's situated on the west bank of the Nile and small boats are available to hire in front of the hotel to take you over to the east bank. You get to see more of the real life of Egyptians on this bank. The view from my room was timeless. The hotel owner, Rakeem was a charming host who looked after us and we felt privileged to be invited back to his home to meet his family and eat supper with them. Rakeem introduced us to Ra who we employed to guide us around The Valley of the Kings and Queens. I was travelling with my Grandson who is studying Egyptology at university and the extremely knowledgable Ra was able to discuss the subject at a high level with him. The best view of the Nile, great people that work there, and restaurant was a big bonus! Free breakfast was included and it was great. Will definitely be back to the area and use this hotel!! Did a tour through the hotel it was excellent we used Mohamed to tour the Valley of the Kings he was so friendly and knowledgeable. The staff hotel was amazing, Ahmed was perfect with organizing a cab and boat transportation. Use the boat ferry, its a cheap way to cross the Nile.

The arranged collection fom Airport <--> Arranged boat across the River Nile <--> The Locals as i arrived off the boat <-> Check-in even when I had a bloody nose <--> to Room Service with Beautiful Egyptian Quisine <--> Arranged Hot Air Balloon and co-ordination there <--> Arranged Bicycle Rental which arrived the night before <--> Roof-Top Breakfast where the Owner gave me Special Egyptian Honey to try *yum* <--> Just Absolutely Beautiful People ...
