This is a lovely, friendly, well located hotel in the west bank. The atmosphere was great - both catering and housekeeping staff were excellent and fantastic with the children. The building itself is quirky and feels very calm. The pool and pool area is a real treat after hot days out sightseeing in and around Luxor. The whole experience felt a little more authentic than some of the all inclusive, highly polished tourist alternatives. Breakfast was really nice and staff were really flexible and happy to accommodate our fussy children. All in all a really great stay

The building is a little dated and rooms could do with a revamp

We are a family of 6 and this is our honest opinion. We were not given a card and asked to leave a review. This place… unexpectedly magic. It is bigger as the photos show, with beautiful gardens and birds singing in a peaceful atmosphere. At night the cricket‘s sounds, replace the birds chirping. The staff is friendly but not invasive so you really feel relaxed. Being on the west bank, away from Luxor‘s chaos, means more space, tranquility, less expensive, more genuine local life. The short boat trip over the Nile to reach Luxor is impressive. The rooms are spacious and clean anf the structure spots also a restaurant.

The staff were incredibly friendly. The hotel had the most amazing food of all the places we stayed in Egypt. You MUST try the shish kebab and the beef shawarma! The pool area was lovely except when the music was being played too loudly.

The rooms are TINY! The first room we were in had an air conditioner that made such a racket that kept us awake all night. Fortunately we were changed to another (slightly bigger) room with a better ac. The shower flooded the entire bathroom no matter how hard you tried to not get the floor wet.

We absolutely loved our stay in Hotel Sheherazade, it was perfect for a family. The staff were amazing - so friendly, polite and helpful. The hotel has a fantastic swimming pool which was well received after walking around the beautiful monuments in the heat. The hotel’s restaurant served delicious food at a reasonable price - we loved the baba ganoush, tahini and fish tagine in particular. The hotel is on the West Bank so it’s a bit quieter than the East which was perfect for us and it’s really easy, cheap and fun to get a boat across to see Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely premises, breakfast was good, the room was clean and well furnished. The pool area is great to relax in and we had some nice food/drinks from the restaurant. It is conveniently located next to the public ferry and great value for money. The staff were really accommodating, especially Rafael the manager. We really enjoyed our stay!

We had an issue with the car they booked but the staff were very apologetic and sorted everything out

If you are looking for a nice and clean hotel on West Bank, Luxor, Hotel Sheherazade is a very good alternative. The location is very good, short distance to anything, restaurants, ferryboat, shops and transport. The best of all is a lovely swimmingpool with sunbeds and free towels. And the staff is kind and helpful and will do anything you ask for. Breakfast is basic, and the room is very clean. Hotel Sheherazade gives you very good value for money.

I would appreciate to have a lock in the door to my bathroom, But we have to remember that we cannot expect five star standard in a three star hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located on the west bank of Luxor (the east bank is too busy). First of all, we were given a rooftop bedroom where it was very hot and the air-conditioning did not work well. We asked for a change of room and the staff kindly accepted our request. The new bedroom was more comfortable and in better condition. The hotel is not too crowded and the pool can be a relief on sweltering hot days.

The breakfast was disappointing. The tours and services offered were a bit overpriced so we opted for arranging everything on our own.

I only stayed one night in the hotel. But it was a good experience. It was just a few minutes walking away from the public ferry landing, to cross the Nile and visit Luxor. A stay in Luxor itself is much more noisy and much more expensive, while most attractions are anyway on the other side of the Nile, the site where the hotel is located. It was close to the main shopping street, but just far enough away to not having to enjoy the noise that comes from the main road. If you cross that same main road, you find the bus station where you can find a bus to bring you to any destination you need. On the same street you can also always find a taxi to bring you directly to any touristic attraction. Valley of the King's or Valley of the Queen's, and several temples are just about 15 minutes driving away. And if you like a hot air balloon ride, that's also possible. But then you'll have to wake up early. They leave early in the morning, just before dawn, and give a spectacular view over the temples and surroundings. And you can enjoy the sunrise in the east, coming up over Luxor. The room was fine. Simple but clean and air conditioned with a split unit. For a perfect night rest, you don't need more. The bathroom was en suite and was clean. The included breakfast was good. Everything was there. Fresh bread, omelette, cheese, juice, fruit. Nothing to complain about and start the day refreshed and loaded with energy. It's Egypt, so it can be very hot. The hotel has its own clean swimming pool, where you can get a refreshing dip, which is excellent to enjoy after a hot trip. There is a large terrace around the pool with places inside and outside the sun. And drinks and meals can be ordered to enjoy on the terrace. There are several restaurants in the area, but you can also enjoy your a la carte dinner in the restaurant. No need to go out for a good meal.

Honestly, for the price of the stay in the hotel, I have nothing to complain about. The price - quality relation was very good. Of course, there may be hotels that look nicer (Although this hotel wasn't looking bad at all) and have marble floors and chandeliers on the ceiling and offer shops inside them, but they offer not much more comfort while being 3-4 times more expensive. This hotel offers all a person needs for a good night's rest and to refresh and recharge. No complaints. Personally, I like my hotel to be rather basic, not like a one stop resort. Fore everything else I need, I go out and view the country I am in for holiday. For that, this is a fine hotel and I can recommend it.

We had the most lovely two days at Sunset Guesthouse Abusir. The owner and his family were incredibly welcoming and kind providing all meals requested. The rooms were kept in very good condition and stocked with plenty of water. The hotel has a rooftop lounge where you can have meals and drinks providing the perfect location to watch the sunset/rise.

Lovely building and friendly staff, good service. Nice garden areas with lots of birds. Good breakfast. Not far from main street to all the west bank sites. Bank not far away.

Nothing to dislike really except I realised I had overpaid on arrival by £100 and no-one pointed it out at the time. No receipts are given so I don't really think they understood my issue with overpayment. Decided to put it down to experience because I had enjoyed my stay a lot.
