Breakfast - excellent, from western to local dishes. various choices of breakfast available for the guests to enjoy. Room - bed is comfy, quiet room, airon is auto on/off when we close/open the glass door, this is very thoughful. Pool - this is the reason we come here, kids enjoy the facility very much, this time the kids have chance to join the treasure hunt organised in the hotel area, staff is incredible friendly and polite to guest.

Everything! Staff are super friendly, location is wonderful. We saw sunset everyday.. it can’t get any better than this. Also if you would like to go to the island (Sapi is recommended), you can take the boat from Star Marina which is inside the hotel. The massage place Chi, was mind blowing! If you want to go shopping use Grab app and call a cab to Imago Shopping Centre only 10 mins from hotel.

Since we stayed for a week, breakfast became very boring as the menu didn’t change. The breakfast menu should be revamped completely. But whoever makes the croissant 🥐 should get a raise. Mind-blowing.

Extremely ❤️ the breakfast and also the buffet!

We stayed for 3D3N and had their breakfast buffet everyday. The spread was incredible. It can get very crowded though, but we didn't have to queue whenever we go for breakfast. The resort offers plenty of things to do/see that is family-friendly, so you won't get bored. You may want to reserve certain things in advance before your trip (such as the spa) as they get booked out quickly.

We went out to town on our last day (Sunday) and found ourselves in a massive traffic jam (>30mins) leading into the resort as people also frequent the nearby Tanjung Aru beach and market, so do plan your trip back to the airport properly!

Large comfortable and clean rooms. Glad we paid the extra for the sea view room - had a beautiful balcony in our room in the peaceful Kinabalu wing that was great for watching the sunset. Staff very helpful and friendly. Nice breakfast buffet. Convenient for the airport.

The synthetic air freshers in lifts and some lobby areas need to go…felt like I was inhaling chemicals. Resort areas get crowded at peak times (eg sunset bar) with lots of instagrammers, which didn’t feel the most peaceful so we largely stuck to our room when at the hotel. Spa is over-priced.

Property was lovely but you had to pay for it. So we upgraded to the Horizon lounge pack which got us an upgraded room and half board status. Which was great. All facilitates were well catered for. It was more family orientated that I expected but we went where are no kids off.

It is tired. It’s still a good quality hotel but it needs a refurbish. The restaurants were not that good for the price, although the food was great there was not much of an option. There is also not much around the hotel. If you are someone like me and wife we like to go out and explore restaurants. Everywhere needed a taxi and then you had to know where you were going.

Everything! Worth every penny. Enjoy the moments there. Lots of activity to be done within the resort itself. Our time occupied perfectly. Alhamdulillah. Thanks team Shangri-La and booking.com. The price way more cheaper than official Shangri-La website. But, just to add up, if buy at official website, there will be collecting points 🌸.

Nothing. Their team very professional. Even bought at booking.com not in their official website, they treat us equally. Moreover, they did surprise us with a more privacy room, and anniversary surprises with chocolate and fresh flowers. Thanks Shangri-La and booking.com 🥰🩷

My children love the water park.

I booked through a 3rd party website for 3 days and 2 nights stay (RM2000++), at that time there was a Christmas event where you need a token to play the gacha ball machine. My daughter really wanted 1, so I asked the receptionist on the matter. Was disappointed when I was told that I’m not eligible for the token as I’ve booked through a 3rd party website. ONLY guests who spends RM2000 above and booked through their official website/app are eligible. So means I not an ‘official’ guest who pays to stay just because I used 3rd party. My daughter cried all the way to our room (she’s only 2)

The staff were very hospitable and couldn’t be more helpful. A special mention for Jumarah in Cafe Tatu who was the warmest, thoughtful and most hospitable host for us at breakfast. We will always remember her! Shout out to Siti Aminah at breakfast for her friendliness and kind attention always.

The Mountain View rooms don’t all come with a Mountain View. Our room was supposed to be Mountain View but overlooked the car park which we weren’t expecting. The service manager, Surayah was very helpful and changed our room for us to an upgrade and sorted out very quickly. There was a very small sandy area which wasn’t the beach we expected but we had enough things to keep us busy.

This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at in Kota Kinabalu. The location is perfect, close to the beach & islands. We were lucky to have clear skies during our stay, allowing us to see Mount Kinabalu from the hotel. The food was amazing, offering a variety of cuisines, from Chinese & Malay to Western, with some Korean options as well. The best part is that it’s very kid-friendly. My son absolutely loved it! He spent his time going from the pool to the beach, enjoying ice cream cones & repeating the cycle throughout our stay. P/S : Really appreciate the surprise birthday decorations & chocolate cake for my son. He loved it! ❤️
