- Room is spacious and looks fancy, with useful chairs and table, a huge TV. - Bed is wide and a set of soft pillows which gave us a nice and comfortable rest after an exhausting trip - Bathroom is clean and complete with bathrobes and towels, tissues with hair blower - Staffs are friendly and helpful, even met Filipinos who are accommodating at our requests and the one who’s in charge in the bar gladly gave us refill for our empty water bottles - Buffet breakfast is great, there is plenty of rice which I didn’t get quite a lot during our travel, had several egg options which are savory and also had tea, coffee, milk, or juice to choose from for a drink. We were full and ready for the day’s adventure!

- empty bottle for hair conditioner - hot chocolate or hot drink options for kids was not part of buffet breakfast - I did dial 0 to call for reception but seems not working as it kept ringing and no one answered

Great location for a stopover before heading out of - or into - Auckland, with a range of restaurants and shops close to the hotel. Lovely staff; beautifully clean and comfortable room, great (full) breakfast.

The system of taking a $50 deposit and refunding it seems unnecessary and inappropriate here. The return of the deposit took several days, and apparently if you use a credit card - as i did - for this, it can incur a fee for using the card. This didn’t happen to us because I complained that I hadn’t been told about this on check in, but apparently it’s in the terms and conditions. Such a shame to even have this discussion because everything else was fantastic!

Very clean, tidy, and efficient. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice. Night lights in the room were a good idea. Bathroom and shower were very good, and bed/bedding was comfortable. Very handy to a range of food and fuel options.

There isnt much to not like here but we did encounter two things; - We like a pool where we stay but the pool here says it is heated, but it is cold - in fact my unheated pool at home is warmer. - We ordered coffee with breakfast and we didn't receive them - they were delivered to another table. We weren't offered a replacement, or even an acknowledgment of the error.

The rooms were clean and new. We stayed at DoubleTree when we were in Queenstown and Auckland. Both of them were great and we love it! Auckland’s hotel had free parking which is perfect for self-driven travellers, hotel breakfast were decent and cheaper than what the Cafes nearby could offer. It has fast food and restaurants within walking distance, you could also easily get supper via Uber Eats.

The hotel wasnt built on good sound-proofing material. Every time someone opens their room door and let is automatically slam shut, we could hear it clearly and our wall would tremble. Air-con in our first room wasnt working well and they kindly move us to another room after that.

Thank you for the stay, the hotel and facilities were great. My personal feedback was at the breakfast buffet, which was fantastic, me and my partner felt like we were being circled by hawks and at the very moment a cup or a plate was empty it was snatched up and taken away. In previous buffet breakfast situations i have experienced the table being cleared once the customers had finished and left the table. It gave us a feeling of being watched rather than being relaxed. However, everything else was fantastic, and would definitely come back again :) Ps, the staff were very polite, it just created an atmosphere of l your every move being watched. Regards Gunnar

We had dinner at the restaurant below and the service was friendly and very fast . We arrived late into the night and were able to receive service for food which was awesome as we had travelled a long way with our little baby and we could all eat without looking outside the venue.thank you very much! The rooms were always serviced everyday which was nice to come back to after a busy day out at our convention.

Just a minor matter but on arrival the staff on front desk seemed occupied on computers rather than welcoming on arrival.

Absolutely loved the lighting. Whoever designed the lighting deserves recognition. Overall a lovely layout, and free parking was a bonus. Breakfast was tasty, loved the options that were available, and staff were exceptional - friendly and attentive but not overbearing.

Just a small nit pick - I may have missed it, but I couldn’t see any obvious signage or directions for the gym. I noticed it by accident the following day when I drove in. It wasn’t a major, I knew the staff would’ve helped me. It wasn’t a dislike, more of an observation.

I loved this Hotel, its quality service and facilities were excellent. There were lots of towels at the pool, and the area was tidy and clean. The rooms were spacious with quality fittings, comfortable beds and couches. The bathroom accessories were lovely and smelt great! The bathrooms in the reception area were lovely, clean and tidy. Overall, we were fortunate to stay two nights and enjoyed it very much!

The menu. I had my 10 year old son and he is a fussy eater. We ended up not eating in the restaurant on the second night, we had LFC instead. We had asked if the kitchen would do something off the in-room menu but were told no. Our friends that stayed (while we went to KFC) then said that there was a bar menu, as people were ordering food poolside. We were not told this or offered any other solution, and subsequently we m issed out on having dinner with our friends.

We were impressed by service, the amenities and the breakfast buffet. The breakfast spread was good and the food was fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and knew what they were doing. Our kids loved their time at the hotel that we extended our stay for another night. The pool is heated and the gym had all the necessary equipment for a great workout. The facility itself is new and tastefully done. We LOVED the welcome cookie and were looking forward to it after reading all of the good things about it. Overall we had a fabulous time at Doubletree by Hilton, Karaka.

Brand new, spotless. Good sized room and value for money.

The property was pretty much empty when we stayed. Asked for an on check-in upgrade as a Hilton Honors Member but was told not available. Not a big deal because the room was fine for an overnight stay but was a little odd as we practically had the place to ourselves.
