- It is a resort on an island about 20 km from Nadi. During the night, there were literally no other guests - only a couple of hotel staff - a barman and a boatman. Your own island :-) - Easy-going. They let me to install my radio amateur antennas without any problems - The bungalow was large and 5-10 meters from the water. I also stayed in a smaller one which was fine as well and it was about 15-20 meters from the water. Both are really waterfront
- Well, the value for money is not high ... they charge relatively high, and everything is rather basic - Breakfast is included, but only one option - There was an electric noise from LED lamps or similar. It is not a problem for 99.9% of visitors, but it is for ham radio. So, the family bungalow has the noise much smaller for whatever reason

The food was excellent, with the chef able and willing to make a wide variety of dishes not listed on the menu. The resort is quiet and with a small coral reef hosting the standard reef fish immediately in front of the resort. Day trips are possible from the resort, including guided tours to Koroyanitu National Heritage Park or anything leaving Port Denarau. The resort has boats and staff were willing to take us to explore reefs in the area. Kayaks are also available to access the reef on the other side of the island. It is a very family-friendly facility, with a pool, some indoor games, and other kids to play with. The rooms are spacious and clean, and have mosquito nets on the windows as well as AC. The staff were wonderful hosts. We brought our own hammock and happily stayed 10 nights.
While we saw the common reef species we hoped for- clownfish, false clownfish, angel fish, sea snakes, cuttlefish, eels, needlefish, and all the little stripey or bright blue/pink/yellow ones, the reef itself is degraded and under pressure from warming, nutrient and rubbish pollution, and visitors. The former are problems beyond any resort's ability to fix and widespread both in Fiji and globally, but educational signage could reduce the impact from visitors on their little reef. Due to the island's proximity to a river mouth, turbidity reduced visibility for a couple of days after a big rain event.

If you’re going with a big family with a lot of babies it’s a great place, all the staff are kind and loving and so considerate of babies! I loved that it was off the main island that way we could have peace and quiet where our kids could run an around and scream and cry when they needed to without any complaints.
It is a little out dated but this wasn’t a problem for my family and I as it made me less worried about our kids breaking things

The location, staff and room # 1 were excellent. However, the lighting in the room was not good at all for reading. I would have preferred better reading lighting. A TV and wifi in the room would have been appreciated. However, the staff were so happy to help and friendly that it more than made up for these facilities that I expect during my holidays.
The lighting in the room was not good at all, for reading. I would have preferred better reading lighting. A TV and wifi in the room would have been appreciated.

The location was beautiful, I couldn't have asked for better. The Duty manager Joie was the reason our stay was wonderful and why I would come back again while he was still employed there. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and made up for the shortcomings of the resort which are out of the staff's control. I could not have had a better experience thanks to the staff, without them, it would have been dreadful.
No tours or information at the resort, the duty manager helped us by giving out information about the surrounding attractions etc. We would have been lost without this. No general information was available about the area unless you ask staff, no brochures, information, nothing. Staff are working with limited supplies, and no water on arrival, which happened twice.

I absolutely loved my 5 nights at Belo Vula. Would happily go back and didn't want to leave. What a hidden gem, perfect for young couples, families and people not needing super high end finishes. It's simplisticily charming and would happily stay here over the fancier resorts Loved that it was only a 5 minute boat ride from Lautoka, free boat and running constantly all day. Made it easy to head for a curry at the south sea club and head to the rugby at Churchill Park. Loved being so close to the beach and the fact there was grass everywhere outside the bures so our room never got too sandy Loved the kokoda and fresh fish, very large portions which made the resort prices reasonable. Super friendly staff and loved our very large spacious room. Excellent pool and ocean swimming was great. Super handy to be able to hire kayaks and stand up paddle boards.
Honestly not much at all. There isn't any wifi in the bedrooms which is a nice change. The view back to the port isn't always the sexiest.

The people! Cannot say enough baout this. My wife and I did not go with expectations .. just looked for a place to relax and mingle with the locals as much as possible. We were able to do that and made some very good friends.
I liked all. ONly minor ciriticsim was the range of food avilable on the menu. A bit more variety with more vegetables would have been niuce. LOved the pizza, omeletes and stir fry!

Location was excellent, a 15 minute boat ride from the city to access eateries & other entertainment for children. pleasantly quiet in the evenings with a beautiful image of the mountains at sunrise.
drunkard behaviour of day tripers to the island and their litter that is left on the environment without care.

The staff were wonderful, caring, friendly, funny and accomodating. The food was great and the cocktails delicious. The resort is very pretty from the front and our room was on the sea front and lovely and spacious, the bird song in the morning was lovely and in just a few steps we could be floating in the sea.
I think the resort has recently changed hands so things are changing, but, for instance, there is nowhere to hang swimwear to dry, or hooks inside, we had to ask for a bowl to rinse the sand from our feet, just little things that make staying for a while easier. But the main issue is the rubbish that is generated by running a resort with a great restaurant and bar - it is obvious this has not been responsibly dealt with in the past and there is work to do to sort that out. But I was told this is being cleared up and sorted out during the next couple of weeks.
