Everything was great, very friendly staff, clean, quiet room facing the inner courtyard. Nice bathroom. There is a very large fitness area and two saunas with long opening hours, separated for men and women. On the days I was there there were usually no other guests there. The breakfast was also very good. There were even gluten-free options and a wide range of healthy foods. The location is very good, you can reach shops and attractions quickly. I really enjoyed it and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

LUGGAGE SCALE: The only thing I was missing was a scale to weigh the suitcase. Unfortunately, I had excess luggage on the return journey because I had bought a lot of Finnish bread and sweets. :) So a luggage scale would be great. PRO TIP - ROOM LOCATION: The building consists of two parts. Smokers are better off booking a room in the main building rather than the Yrjönkatu building. To get to the Yrjönkatu building you have to walk a very long way in the hotel and use 2 different elevators, it takes several minutes. If you book the main Building, you just have to use a single elevator and you'll be out in seconds. You see it in the description "room type", if the room is in the "wrong" part. If nothings stated there, it's the main building. This is an insider tip ;)

- Excellent position: few minutes walking from the city centre, very close to both Kauppatori dock (where local market takes place, especially during winter holidays) and train station (with 10 min connection to the airport) - Staff was very friendly and professional, reception was available 24/7, and there's a free gym and sauna for the guests - Breakfast is strongly recommended: there is a huge selection of Nordic and continental meals as well as many sweat treats, and even an egg bar, where you can order your customized, prepared on the spot omlette - Special dinner for Christmas and New Year's eve (with traditional holidays courses), and activities for the guest during winter holidays (decorating gingerbread cookies, DJ set, and much more) - The attention to sustainability through light cleaning for longer stays and attention to food losses at breakfast

- The room might a bit too dark for someone - Cleaning service was a bit poor few times, they even forgot to replace toilet paper once, and replaced only one chocolate for two guests (but we deeply appreciated the choice of light cleaning nonetheless)

I was asked to provide my debit card details in case the hotel wants to charge me for beverage consumed from the fridge in my room and any other services rendered. I rejected cos giving my debit card details away is equivalent to giving the hotel a blank cheque and I didn't plan to consume the beverage in the fridge or foresee any need for more services. Instead of removing the beverages from the fridge so that I could use the fridge to store groceries, the lady from the front desk locked it which rendered the fridge useless to me.

Literally couldn't get a better location in my opinion. Everything is easily within walking distance, even in the snow. Breakfast was great every morning, room was comfortable, and the staff were pleasant

Our King Room was located in another building, which required going up to the third floor, walking through the halls, going over a glass tunnel bridge, and then up a flight of stairs. Not ideal, but also not horrendous. Could've done with a little bench or stool in the entrance of the room. Having to put on and take off winter boots with cold hands while standing up isn't the easiest.

Freshly refurbished look and feel. Clean, quiet. Room was smallish but covered our needs. As we had inner courtyard view it was super quiet. Breakfast was probably best I’ve ever had, great selection of hot and cold food plus waffle making facilities. Gluten free options from separate toaster to coffee machine. It was great that Saturday and Sunday breakfast is served until 12. Location is excellent, short walk from central train station (about 30-40min to airport), tram stop in front of hotel with T1 straight to West ferry terminal. Short walk from harbour market.

My wife and I celebrated our first valentines day together. We requested a room with a view to the alley where we could overlook the bridal shop (as we were going for a dress fitting the next morning). There was an upcharge of 30 euros but that was fine as we enjoyed the view last time around. This time they placed us in room 211 where it turns out the room has a full view of the main street and the alley. My wife and LOVED it! It was everything we wanted it to be and more. We will come back again and request room 211 once more.

The only issue we had was parking in level -3. Upon leaving, the red light did not change for over 10 minutes. Finally we risked it and went up to level -2 where we saw the light was green and no cars were coming. This appears to be broken and should be fixed.

We recently stayed at Marski by Scandic as a family of four (2 adults and 2 kids), and it was a very pleasant experience. The hotel’s location is ideal, right in the heart of the city, which made it convenient to explore nearby attractions on foot. The staff were welcoming and attentive, ensuring we felt comfortable throughout our stay. A special mention goes to the breakfast—it was excellent, offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious options that suited both adults and children. Marski by Scandic is a great choice for families, as the rooms are spacious and well-equipped, and the overall atmosphere is very family-friendly. We highly recommend it to families looking for a comfortable and centrally located hotel.

I did not eat breakfast at the Marski but liked the coffee and had lunch there on 2 other occasions. Staff were excellent and very helpful. I loved the location. Close to the station and easy to get to tourist sights. Public transport is easily accessible.

I struggled a bit with the shower as I did not understand how it worked. Flooded the bathroom trying to use it. Did not realise how difficult it would be to get my bag out of the luggage room before 4pm. I needed another guest to climb over all the bags to retrieve mine that had been shoved to the back.

Breakfast had a good variety of choices. The hotel is well located and the staff are very helpful and pleasant. The room was comfortable and had all needed. Luggage room access all day with a key card was also great.

Not so much a dislike, more of unexpected... There were no slippers provided, which was a surprise but not a need since the floors were warm enough. The AC was quite cool and there was no way to bring it up to a comfortable temperature, since it would stop at a certain degree. Not a massive issue though, since you could just wear some clothes or slip under the sheets. There was a lot of dust along the windows of the breakfast area. Since it was quite sunny most mornings, it became very apparent.
