Cozy, small room next to the center of Annecy. I was happy enough and would love to stay there again for longer. The hotel is right next to a busy, lively street full of restaurants. Room was small, but didn't feel cramped.

There were several gangs having a gathering next to the bridge. I also saw a chase of an armed man with a knife who was promptly arrested in front of me (that was less than a week after the stabbing of the children there). So I wouldn't call the area safe for someone traveling alone, especially women. But France in general has become pretty unsafe, so please stay as central as possible. I moved to another hotel for the rest of my stay and although it was as central as it gets, there were still a few mad people walking the street who gave me a fright.

Spacious and comfy room, very comfy bed. Nice bathroom plenty of hanging space, free wifi. Super helpful lady on reception who was so friendly. Great location right in the heart of Annecy, good parking free for our motorbikes in nearby carpark, although a little distance away when carrying luggage, should have dropped it off first. Tea and coffee making facilities. Overall a lovely stay, also aircon in our room. Annecy is such a pretty place to visit.

It was a little noisy later at night from bars and there was a manhole outside our window that cars kept driving over which was super loud throughout the night and early morning.

Friendly and helpful staff, clean comfortable room, wonderful location just beside the entrance to the old city. 8 mins walk to lake through old city with tons of restaurants, bars & shops. Great value. Room had mini fridge and air con.

No elevator, but that's common for old buildings. Was given a room on a lower floor when requested at check-in. Tip for parking - street parking is cheaper than the lots. Can pay by app with phone and add more time as needed.

When I was looking for a hotel in Annecy I just needed something not too expensive and wishing walking distance to the train station. Hotel Icon seemed to be perfect option and it didn’t disappoint. It is located approximately 10mins walk from SNCF and right in the middle of the old town. Room was small but warm and cosy; there was a bed, a desk with a chair and a kettle with some coffee sticks which was a good bonus. Bathroom had a shower, towels, etc. Small window of my room was facing the old town and there were bars downstairs but it didn’t bother at all. Around hotel there are plenty restaurants and bars to eat or drink, few bakery shops where you can find fresh croissants and in the morning there is also a market with fresh vegetables, fruits, cheese, meat, etc. Lake Annoy is located within 10mins walk.

Didn't notice any drawbacks

Great location on the outskirts of Annecy old town but within walking distance to all the sightseeing and restaurants basically on the doorstep. Only a 5 minute walk to a supermarket too where we would get picnic supplies most days. Staff were really friendly and when we asked offered the suggestion of going to Talloires one day which we did and really enjoyed.! Had heard other reviews mention noises but we stayed for 6 nights and had no issues. Perhaps we're deep sleepers?

Perfect location for visiting Annecy. We had a beautiful room with the best view. Bed was comfortable and room air conditioned which was vital as temps were high, spacious shower. The lady at check in was very welcoming & particularly informative & helpful on parking, etc. The breakfast was tasty and had everything you would expect. Couldn’t fault hotel, just wished we could have stayed longer.

Comfortable hotel. My room was basic, but had enough space, it was nice to have a table with kettle supplies and good AC. And extra blackets/pillows were available just in case! It has very good location right at the gate of the old town, close to the canals, and not too far from the railway station/bus station.

The lack of elevator could be unconvenient for some hotel visitors.

The hotel met our expectations. Its location was like the starting point of the old town area. You find yourself at the heart of all the beauties of Annecy within minutes.

The only issue was the lack of an elevator but the building was rather old and it would probably be impossible to adjust one to the building. This would be the case with the old buildings in Annecy.

Great spot at the start of the main road. Close to a nice boulangerie, cafes, shops and restaurants. The room is space enough for a couple and a helpful desk. The personal was kind and helpful.

I would had preferred the room lights were more powerful. The lightning was a bit low.

Very friendly staff, both upon check-in and the morning receptionist, their kindness and helpfulness was much appreciated. The location was great, right by the pedestrian streets with all the restaurants, and not too far a walk from the train station. My room was fine.

I'd be happier if the small breakfast were included, and if all the mattresses were comfortable. (The receptionist kindly changed my room from one with a poor mattress to one with a good one.) For some people, the many stairs to the higher floors could be a problem.
