Excellent location between both towns. Very close to a restaurant street. The room had an unexpected bonus... a small kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine (should have been in the list of facilities). Excellent parking onsite. The blackout shutters were excellent for a good night's sleep. The bathroom was quite functional (for a French 200 year old house). The bed was comfortable and the room is a good size. WiFi could be a bit faster but was stable and adequate for our use. The hosts were very friendly and very helpful (Spoke excellent English as well as French and maybe other languages). Period features in the 200 year old mansion. Freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast.

Check in is a bit late in the day and a little inflexible (or maybe it came over that way in translation). The breakfast was a bit light and needed more options (such as eggs other than a single boiled egg or yogurt or cereal, etc).

This is an incredible property, a beautiful old house, very tastefully renovated with all the important mod cons (double glazing, instant hot water with great water pressure (ring system), aircon/heating). The owners are a lovely couple, very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is easily located from the main highway and there's a convenient spot in front of the hotel to offload all the bags (and in our case - our dog). Then the car park is just a few metres away, behind a very secure high gate, so once you're inside the property you're in the sanctuary of the house, the garden, the pool and the car park. The house being old (1850's) of course doesnt have a lift, so there's a few stairs to carry the cases, which was fine. The hotel is dog friendly (which we love) and there was plenty of room for her in our room (we put her dog blanket on the ground). Our room had the most awesome view of the walled city, which was breathtaking at sunset. The rooms are lovely and "French" with authentic glassware and crockery. There was even a mini bar and wine (at very reasonable prices). The breakfast was also brilliant, set in the beautifully set up dining room you're served with fresh tea/coffee/bakeries/eggs/cheese & ham, If you come out of the house and turn left (and keep turning left) you're just a few mins walk to the beautiful old streets of Carcassonne. A short walk uphill leads you to the walled village, which is simply gorgeous. Lots of shops, restaurants and things to do (haunted house, rampart walls etc), also very dog friendly area to walk the dog.

As with all our stays in France the tea/coffee facilities were a little lacking but apart from that - totally excellent!

Thsi is a beautiful period home that was once the home of two German brothers that opened a beer factory directly behind the home in what is now an apartment block. If you are looking for authentic French Charm, with a grand home that feels very private, all located in the center of town yet removed from the bustle of the city then this is the spot you should consider. The Location is excellent just off the main highway equal distance from the medieval and old towns, our hosts were amazing with excellent communication and a ton of pre arrival phots on locations of the home, its facilities and even the car park. Can’t tell you how helpful this information is for travelers. I’m sure you have visited a remote spot or two and just wondered when you get there where am I to park, where is the entrance, or even where is the place. And while GPS has made travel immensely easier it still has its limits. Everyone should send pre arrival photos and this home has done it right. The parking behind the gates was easy to enter and very secure. Our room was period French with many fine details and very large. The bed was comfortable and the bathtub had plenty of hot water and room for 2. ‘Overall an excellent stay with only one regret and that’s we had to leave too soon.

The location was perfectly set between the medieval town and the old town-only a few minutes walk to either. The house, gardens and pool created an oasis of greenery and serenity within the busy town, and with a secure gate and doors, we felt safe. The breakfast served by Mariane each morning on lovely china was delicious and made the perfect start to each day. Our room, #4, had a nice slice of a view of the castle out one window and the other two looked over the pool/garden/carport. The bed and shower were fantastic. The mini kitchen and washing machine in our room were helpful too. I can’t say it enough- it was the perfect spot!!!

This is a lovely historic property with all the modern conveniences It is within walking distance of the medieval city, Canal du Midi, and other tourist sites. Secure on-site parking is available. There is a garden and swimming pool in the back of the property. The entire hotel is elegantly decorated starting with the foyers, the dining room, and bar. Our room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the linens and towels were very high quality. The owner, Mary Ann, was friendly and helpful with suggestions on restaurants. Breakfast was served on fine china and consisted of local ham, sausage, cheeses, eggs, bread and croissants, juice and coffee. We highly recommend this property.

The car navigation system had trouble finding the hotel. Instructions on how to get to the street and how to access secure parking would be helpful to have beforehand.

A stunning property in close proximity to the medieval Old Town, with attention to detail both internally and externally. Clean and spacious rooms that allow you to appreciate the period features of the house while enjoying the recently upgraded comforts throughout. Marianne was very welcoming, providing recommendations for nearby restaurants and the breakfast served was excellent. The secure parking area is ideal for those that wish to park up and enjoy the local amenities.

A little noisy at night but the property is centrally located so this is to be expected.

Very convenient to all of Carcassonne (cité and town). Secure parking was great. Beautiful style throughout. Lovely breakfast each morning. Fantastic shower in our en-suite room. Nice ambience. Our host spoke very good English, which really helped. Lovely view of the citadel both daytime and at night when it was lit up. Great proximity to local abbeys, beautiful villages, and the Mediterranean coast. Collioure 1.5 hours drive away but a beautiful seaside resort and well worth it.

Found the mattress a little too hard for us but appreciate this is only our personal preferences. The shower temperature was a little too warm but was unable to make it cooler; again, a personal preference.

This was probably the most authentic place we stayed during our trip. Marianne and Stéphane were gracious owner/hosts. We felt like we were staying with friends, not at a B&B. Property/home is beautiful (as described) and can accommodate extended stays if needed. Our large room had a view of Carcassonne that was spectacular-see picture. We walked to the city. But, the most amazing thing was the food. We pre-ordered their dinner. The amuse-bouche of a warm Chorizo/Creme/Parmesan shooter, the fresh pumpkin soup with butter sautéed mushrooms and chestnuts, the sliced duck with foie gras sauce, ratatouille, roasted tomatoes and fennel, battered Jerusalem Artichokes, the cheese (which we skipped because we were stuffed), and the flourless chocolate bar covered in a crème brûlée sauce with nuts, were fabulous! Not to mention the local Syrah/Cab blend. Breakfast the following morning was equally delicious. Plenty of on-site parking. Just an FYI - they will text you instructions for checking in - follow them and pull in front of the home and back into the small parking space to unload luggage. PS - Marianne - thank you for the recommendation of Georges in Lyon we really enjoyed it!

The Lush garden with pool and jacuzzi was a welcome oasis after a long car drive from Lyon to Carcassone on our roadtrip to Barcelona. The convenient and EV-friendly parking with two chargers (for a flat fee of EUR 20 per day) was a big plus. The castle and old town of Carcassonne are within easy walking distance. The antique furnishing of the hotel rooms with Louis Vuitton wallpapers and bathrooms, as well as the ever-present classical jazz tunes, create a time capsule atmosphere. A delicious breakfast topped off the experience. This place has the ambiance of Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California.

A minor inconvenience: Arriving by car with luggage can be a bit tricky. You have to stop in the middle of a small road branching off a main road to ring a bell and then quickly unload your luggage before proceeding to the parking area next to the garden. Fortunately, there isn't much traffic on the road, but it might be easier to let guests drive directly to the parking area first.

Beautiful property really close to the old city. The room was very comfortable and had its own mini bar as well as a little kitchenette (if you feel you need one!). Bed was comfortable, air conditioning was perfect and the shower and bathroom were clean and modern. The property also has a great pool to relax by at the end of the day - it was very hot weather! Marianne and Stephane really have done an amazing job with the property. Breakfast was included and delicious and the car park was perfect in the shade.

One small thing is that the house and car park are closed between 2-4.30pm so whilst this didn’t bother us it just means you need to consider this when planning your arrival time.
