Bar and restaurant are amazing, under a glass ceiling in the middle of the hotel. Live piano player until late on a Friday, and the excellent almond and pear pie is free when you order a drink! Great range of imaginative non alcoholic cocktails and whiskeys too. Didn't have the breakfast but the selection looked good. Room is massive and well furnished, as is the bathroom - big sink, all marble everywhere! Mattress was very comfortable and all the towels and linen was very crisp and clean. Decent quality shower gel provided that doesn't dry out your skin.

Minor point, but the fittings in the room were a bit tired - loose marble in the bathroom, desk was wobbly. Nothing major though.

Stayed in the executive suit with a family of 4 incl. 2 kids. We've had a pleasant stay. Location was super, few minutes from Zoo, theme park and just around the corner of the historic center. Executive room very spacious and clean. Air-conditioning worked well, it didn't make much noise. Breakfast was very well presented and the staff of breakfast were excellent. And this is the only hotel in city centre where you can park in front of the door, that was really convenient.

The room was clean, but still a few spots were missed unfortunately. Bit of mold in the corners of the shower. Wifi not reliable or consistent. We could have used more power sockets (had 8 devices but just 1 socket). Our messages to the hotel via booking.com weren't replied.

The breakfast was very nice. It is worth paying for it and adding it to your room. They have a wonderful coffee maker that makes espresso, cappuccinos, etc. The facility is pretty, but the rooms are tired. The guest rooms and bathrooms need updating. The location is walking distance from the main Lille square and historic areas. It is just a little out of the way.

As I mentioned, the guest rooms and particularly the bathrooms need some updating. There is a very deep bathtub on a platform that you need to step over and into/out of to take a shower or bath. The bath towels were frayed. The bathroom finishes were deteriorating.

It’s in a good open location by the canal and just a short walk round the corner into the old town. The original Flemish style brickwork on the exterior and around the courtyard.

The property has lost a lot of its character in the renovations being replaced by 1990s bland. There are details that could be improved - nothing major but compared to some other 4 star hotels it looked a bit worn around the edges in places: the seals of the shower screen in the bathroom; marks on carpets; in the bedroom a window handle was missing and the window couldn’t be opened; the “fresh” cut fruit at breakfast looked not so fresh

Check in staff were polite and helpful. We only used the restaurant for breakfast, which had a varied selection and the staff were very attentive.

Morning Restaurant running out of baguettes at 9.15 in the morning!! I know it is petty,but the hallway carpet from lift to room could have done with either a good clean or be replaced it was very stained as it brought down the overall feel of the hotel. Didn't like that toilet was in separate room from sink and bath, was very noisy to use during night as acted like an echo chamber. Also didn't like being left outside in car park in freezing cold when they had a fire drill, no one from the hotel came to check on us and tell us that the drill was over.

The suite was very impressive, little one had her own room to sleep in (sofa bed) and she said it was very comfortable. The bed me and husband slept in was massive, and very comfortable too.

More hooks needed on back of doors to hang up dressing gowns and room did go a bit cold in the night so I had to use a dressing gown to sleep in under quilt. Also sheet on bed wasn’t fitted properly so it kept coming off the mattress.

We liked the setting and ambiance of the hotel. The evenings were made special with a pianist In the lounge-bar area. Our room was very comfortable and we slept very well. I appreciated the fact that we could check-out at 12. The food at the restaurant was very good. Breakfast was quite varied.

The parking had extra charges, which I thought should have been included for clients staying at the hotel.

Great place, excellent use of the old cloistered courtyard for the glass covered bar and restaurant areas. The staff were very nice and helpful and we all (family of four) loved the breakfast!

The kitchen was closed on Sunday night. A lot of restaurants are closed in Lille on a Sunday so this is precisely the day you want to be able to fall back on your hotel. Skipping dinner was probably okay for the austere order of the Minimes monks who built this old convent; it's less okay in an establishment presenting itself as a luxury hotel. Going hungry is not luxurious.

The cleanliness of our room. The attention was not there. This could have been better. I mentioned this to reception and they were super decent very undertanding. It was not a complaint.

Overall the hotel was good and met with expections.

The room was a disappointment, it was very dark even with lights on and the bathroom was small, there was no shower screen so the room filled with water, making the floor lethal on climbing out of bath, this is a potential accident waiting to happen. We were in Room 118 and I suggest that this is rectified as soon as possible.
