The room and location were very good. A quiet neighbourhood with a car park very close.

The tiniest elevator ever. It is xramped with 2 average persons without luggage.

The location is excellent! Easy to walk all over the city, cafes and restaurants 2 minutes walk away. Beautiful location. The room was not huge but was clean and the bed very comfortable.

The elevator is extremely small and if you're on the 5th floor, there are a lot of very narrow stairs. We did not have issues walking up the stairs but if you have mobility issues, this could be a problem. The one big problem for us was the tiny shower. There was a material shower curtain that is impractical and unhygienic, and if not properly tucked into the shower base, the bathroom will flood! This is a small fix which would make my review higher. Overall, I would definitely go back but ask for a room with a better shower!

Helpful , pleasant staff. Cosy bed , very clean and good shower. Easy check in and check out . Quiet area for sleeping .Close to the lovely Marais area .

The staff was super friendly and helpful! The staff was very nice about us putting our stroller for our dog in the baggage area so we did not have to carry it up the stairs. (In the photos you see the stroller lol but thas because it was full with stuff but after it stayed downstairs!) The room was clean and comfy beds! The bathroom was a good size as well ( it doesn't matter for me but some people like a good bigger bathroom) . The sauna area was super nice! The hotel was about 10 minutes away from a metro . Also, there is a nice boucherie about 200 meters away ( Tout Autour du Pain ). It has very nice bread and sweets 😋 . I would recommend this place ! When we come back to Paris will definitely stay here again !

We chose Le Vieux Saule for a four-day stay in Paris. It is in a quiet street but within easy reach of bus and metro. Certainly there was no noise to be heard from our room. The room was tidied each day, which we found impressive. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful; a request for an extra pillow was dealt with immediately. The room was quite adequate for us but - like in all Paris hotels located in older buildings - it was quite small. The lift also is small and the staircase is a spiral but we managed with our suitcases. We would certainly stay there again. We cannot offer a comment on the breakfast, which we declined to take. All Paris hotels tend to charge much more for breakfast than you pay in an adjacent cafe !

This is a very good area with restaurants nearby, shops and boutiques. There are 3 metro stops for different lines within a few blocks from the hotel. Very clean hotel, the beds were v comfortable. The breakfast room is part of the original foundation of the bldg. Foods are good, basic, plentiful. There aren't any hot foods which didn't matter to us. The elevator is tiny, works very well. This is typical for older bldgs in Europe. We had a larger room, very comfortable. Higher cost for it, of course, well worth it. Paris was our last stop on this trip, we enjoyed it very much.

Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The location was superb, and staff assisted in us getting around Paris and provided local tips and knowledge. Reception even made me a coffee whilst waiting to leave for the airport.

The bath was awkwardly positioned under a sloped roof, shower head provided but on the side not above you, and if you used it, the floor was soaked. The fridge in the room was pointless as it didn't keep anything cool.

The staff were so friendly and attentive. The continental breakfast was nice with quite a good choice. You could boil your own eggs, which I was happy about. The room on the fifth floor was small but cute and well designed.

Although the room on the top floor was on the small side; it was cute and very French. However, the shower was too small; I could barely turn around in it. Also, the holder for the shower head was cracked, so it kept tipping forward. It was a bit annoying.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. We arrived in Paris earlier than the check-in hours, so our room wasn’t ready yet, but Ona -the lovely lady at the reception- got us another room so we wouldn’t have to come back later, which was very appreciated after a long trip. The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet, and the breakfast (14€/person) was very good with various types of food. We really enjoyed it. Bernard, the night manager who also prepared the breakfast in the morning, was very nice and friendly. The location of the hotel is ideal, there are plenty of restaurants nearby. There are 3 metro stations, each about 5mn from the hotel, allowing you to go anywhere in Paris.

We had a room on the 5th floor, just under the roof, so the bathroom was a bit odd. The bathtub wasn’t easy to use, it was hard to stand without knocking our heads against the wall. There is also no shower curtains so we would put water everywhere on the floor/ toilet.

The location was very good, being within the greater Marais area and near a small city park, as well as plenty of cafes and bars. Our room, as a junior suite was decent size, though it was really just one room with a bathroom. The walk-in shower and shower head were excellent and the bathroom was nice in general. The bed and bedding were excellent, as were the three double windows that opened fully to let in cool night air (the weather was cool and rainy when we went in early August). The staff were all very friendly.

While our room was of adequate size (a junior suite), our friends stayed in a regular room and were greatly disappointed by the small size of the room-- the hotel is charmingly old, so the size of the rooms are small, as is typical. The breakfast could have been improved by offering another type of cereal, such as granola or muesili, as well as another selection of breakfast meat, such as ham. The air conditioner was weak, but thankfully the weather was not hot, so we opened the three windows in our junior suite. The elevator, being in an old hotel, was extremely small.
