We had no intention of staying in St Omer, but due to a (self inflicted) problem with our Eurotunnel booking, we found ourselves looking for accommodation for ourselves and our dog at no notice in peak holiday season. No mean feat, as everything in Calais and the neighbouring towns was booked out. We always stay in Ibis Budget hotels when we're on road trips, so used this website to find the nearest one that had available rooms. Which is how we came to unexpectedly overnight in St Omer ... The hotel was just what we have come to expect - no frills, clean and convenient with surprisingly comfortable beds. There is also a large secure parking area that's free for guests. As ever, our dog was welcomed without question, which is a huge plus. Most Ibis Budgets are located on the fringe of towns/cities, which makes them convenient when you're on road trips and don't want the hassle of detouring into the town/city centre. In this case, St Omer is pretty small, so you can walk into the lovely city centre in about 10 minutes - on a hot summer's night, it's a vibey place with very few tourists (at least foreign ones) in evidence. There's also a supermarket a few minutes walk from the hotel if you have forgotten essentials or want to stock up on stuff for a picnic. Should you be catching the Eurotunnel, the Calais terminal is an easy 40 minute drive.

Everything was great, and just what we've come to expect from Ibis Budget

Good location, ample parking, great staff, rooms had what we needed, love the triple rooms, good breakfast. we stayed as it was within an hours drive to Calais for the ferry.

It felt a bit tired in its decor and facilities compared to another IBIS budget we stayed in. It had key cards for the bedroom doors. We preferred the PIN codes at another IBIS budget as it meant all our family could access the multiple rooms we had booked without the need for a card.

Convenient situation en route to the channel tunnel with easy road access. Compact modern design of the room made washing and showering a little awkward but clean and comfortable. Good breakfast available for early departure and good parking arrangements.Excellent value for money .

A budget hotel on the outskirts of town , the small town of St Omer is only a 10 mins walk away ,and restaurants are just around the corner .The room are budget and small but clean and tidy . the car park is large and fenced but not totally secure .As an overnight stay before the shuttle is was great .

Close to the motorway & calais, Clean with parking

It's expensive for a budget hotel.. Gates to the carpark were broken, so they couldn't be closed overnight for security for my motorcycle.. which was the only reason I booked here.

Convenient stop over for the tunnel. Very comfortable bed. Best nights sleep in ages. Very good breakfast with great choice and regularly replenished. Excellent and secure parking Edge if town. Easy walk into restaurants and shops.

No restaurant for evening meal.

Free parking was the initial draw to this hotel but the location was also great. Within easy walking distance to the cathedral, park, town and only a 30 minute drive to the port at Calais. It is a budget hotel so the sink is in the room, shower and toilet very small but this is to be expected and not a criticism, just a comment.

Hotel was in a great location, only a short walk into the town centre. Free parking in a secure car park on site is also a huge bonus. Quick and easy check in and the rooms were clean.

The pillows in the rooms were not great.

The room was clean and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The breakfast was a typical continental self serve buffet. Not sure that disposable breakfast bowls and drinks containers quit met my expectation. The location was excellent only being a five minute was to the bars and restaurants. There is plenty of parking on site. The staff were polite and helpful. Overall I would recommend this hotel as it does provide a good standard of accommodation for a budget Hotel.

I would prefer a more comfortable bed and proper breakfast bowls etc

Ease of booking, staff friendliness and english skills as my french is terrible (my problem I know) safe parking and the ac was top notch

Nearly ran a beer bottle bottle over as there was some litter in car park . I didn't get there until gone 6pm so could have been dropped anytime and being tired I forget to tell someone
