Friendly management. Excellent dinner. Beautifully decorated, very spacious room with two armchairs and a table and two chairs. Lovely to have a coffee machine. Nice grounds with lots of grass and trees.

There was no fridge in the room, although there was one on the landing outside but it was broken. So was one of the bedside lamps. The sink in the bathroom wasn't letting the water out of the basin. The manager thanked us for telling him this when we checked out as otherwise he said he wouldn't have known. The toilet, which is seperate, is set so high that my feet could not touch the floor! I found it very uncomfortable to use. Our room was on the upper floor of one of the lodges and the ceiling slopes so much that it is impossible to sit up in bed.

Again, a very pleasant and helpful welcome from the proprietor and super evening meal. Husband had the cod with pistachio crust which he said was amongst the best he’s had in France. I enjoyed the duck breast and seasonal vegetables. Although they welcome dogs to come in the restaurant ours don’t behave impeccably enough so we took it in turns to eat. Next time we stay without the dogs, we’re really looking forward to the whole dining experience!

There are a number of individual cabins set in a very quiet and peaceful location. We were biking and arrived on a Sunday when the restaurant was closed. The hotel is too remote to get to any place for food without a car, so we thought we were in for an evening of energy bars to eat, but the staff prepared not only a wonderful dinner for us, but breakfast also! And if what they prepared for us on a moment's notice is any indication, the actual restaurant must be amazing! They really took care of us and we are so grateful.

A lovely, traditional hotel in an excellent location for anyone walking the Via Francigena. The reception staff were very polite and welcoming. I was offered a choice of bath or shower. The room was clean and well appointed. The bed was comfortable. I had dinner in the restaurant. The food was very good. The waiting staff were very professional and attentive but not intrusive. The dining room was spacious with excellent views. Overall the hotel provided a calm and relaxing environment.

There was nothing to fault, however my personal preference would have been for a less formal environment.

Everything about this hotel is excellent. The staff are very pleasant, professional and helpful. The location is perfect if you are travelling via Calais. The hotel grounds are great, particularly if you have a dog. We have stayed several times at this hotel on our journeys to and from Spain and this time made an effort to arrive in time for evening dinner. It was well worth the effort, very good food and service.

Nothing to dislike!

We (family of four) stayed here twice, on the way to/from Paris travelling via the Chunnel. The property lived up to all the other positive reviews - lovely setting, nice functional kitchen, and comfortable beds. Staff was extremely helpful - both times they made up the sofa bed for us; and on our second visit, I had booked the wrong type of room and the staff switched us without any trouble. The person at the front desk spoke excellent English which was so helpful. Very clean and quite spacious rooms, easy drive to/from the Chunnel and lovely rural surrounds. Highly recommend and will stay again next time we're in France.

Close (but not too close) proximity to Calais. Beautiful views of surrounding countryside. Careful thought given to provision for disabled guests. Provision of kitchen facilities in the units.

Toilet was in a different space and a little way from the bathroom. The loo seat was loose. There was no hand wash basin in the toilet cubicle which I think is an essential. I disliked the seersucker fabric of the bed linen. I understand that use of this fabric eliminates the need for ironing, but for pillows it’s uncomfortable to lie on.

We needed a hotel that had an open restaurant on a Sunday night near to Calais, unfortunately we found out after booking that the restaurant was closed, not a problem though because the hotel provided a delicious 3 course meal left in our fridge and ready to be put into the microwave when we wanted it. The room was the ground floor of a lodge building and was very comfortable and beautifully appointed with everything we needed for a great overnight stay, parking was easy as was access from the A26. Less than 30 minutes from Calais.

The food was excellent and locally sourced. However I am an advocate for animal welfare, so seeing foie gras and veal on the menu was upsetting. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. Very handy for the motorway

Unfortunately the toilet ran all night which resulted in the cistern continually dripping loudly. I reported it in the morning, but it was annoying.

It was very peaceful with pleasant views over the countryside. The bedroom was a good size, with armchairs provided. I think the restaurant is probably very good, but there was no fish left, and we don't eat meat, so we made do with two starters, which were excellent. If we stay there again we will warn them in advance. The hotel is very convenient for the channel tunnel - about 15 minutes away!

The walls of the bathroom were rather thin so one could hear one's spouse at their ablutions!
