Very charming and idealic location. So very peaceful. Gilles the owner is a lovely Gentleman who is so helpful. He replies to messages within a couple of hours if not straight away. The house is like a step back in time. Wonderfully kept and nostalgic. I would reccomend the Chateaux to anyone seeking solitude and privacy. There is very little noise if any other than the birds and the rustling of the trees. I stayed for 5 nights of peace from my hectic life at home in the UK with my lovely wife who also was taken back by the sheere charm. Gilles is a fantastic host.

Thats not a question thats needs answering howver 100% Brilliant.

We stopped for one night after arriving in Calais (it’s about 30 minute drive). There is parking on site which we like as arriving on motorbikes. The house and grounds are beautiful, both really well maintained. Our room was comfortable, and we slept extremely well. Breakfast was croissants and bread with a variety of spreads and fruit. Also the best coffee we have had so far (a week into our travels). The only issue we had (which is nothing to do with the hotel) was finding food on Saturday evening. We spent half an hour or more following Google searches to find restaurants all closed down. Eventually a nice policeman directed us to one

Nothing really apart from the struggle to find somewhere to eat. Probably should have asked advice from the owner rather than relying on Google search

Impressive Napoleonic-era house along a quiet lane on the edge of Eperleques. Our spacious bedroom (Mirabeau) overlooked the well-kept garden. I particularly appreciated the linen sheets and pillowcases, the extremely comfortable bed, and the two upholstered chairs (more comfortable than those depicted on the website). The shower room was large and had natural light; the WC was between the bedroom and shower room. Breakfast was beautifully laid out in the dining room and provided baguettes, croissants, preserves, fruit, fruit juice and tea/coffee. We stayed on a Monday night when most of the local eateries were closed, although there would have been plenty in St Omer; instead we had a picnic using provisions from the village supermarket (open until 7:30pm). Don’t miss the V2 Blockhaus in the village - it’s a fascinating site.

The hotel is beautifully furnished in French style. Bedrooms large, clean and lovely. Situated in lovely, quiet countryside. Continental breakfast with lovely croissants and french bread, cheese, preserves and home made honey. Lovely lounge for guests to enjoy, but we arrived late evening so went straight to our rooms

Giles is a very nice person, quite quiet. It would have added to our experience is there had been some soft music playing during breakfast. It was a bit too quiet and no atmosphere. Luckily, being with our friends we just chatted together.

I reserved Le Clos Boutenelle for a 2 night stay enroute to the shuttle on the basis of thegood reviews online. Even with these good reviews, Le Clos Boutenelle far exceeded all of my expectations. The house is absolutely beautiful, set in lovely gardens in a charming rural location and our room was absolutely stunning. An excellent breakfast of bread, croissants, cheeses, fruit and jams was served in a beautful dining room overlooking the gardens. A couple of reviews made negative comments regarding the location- there were no restaurants beside the property, however a short drive to Saint Omer provided an excellent selection of very good options for dinner. We also enjoyed a wander around the town before and after dinner. Both my husband and I were extremely impressed with Le Clos Boutenelle, the accommodation, hosting, location was exceptional, particularly for the price charged, which included breakfast AND allowed my little dog to stay free of charge as well! I would recommend it to all friends and family, and would definitely stay again. Highly recommend !

To be honest, nothing.

Stunning house with beautiful garden and lots of history to it. We had a lovely room -clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and prepared with honey and jam from the property and our host kindly made provisions for my gluten free diet. Lovely base from which to explore the area. We will definitely be returning. Wonderful cannot praise it enough

We have stayed here several times and for us it is the epitome of a French chamber d’hote. A beautiful old building, quaint, quirky, and quiet. A lovely garden and a countryside setting down a narrow, quiet lane. The rooms are big and feel original with wooden floors and typical French decor, it always reminds us of the French b&bs we used to stay in when we first started to travel in France more than 50 years ago. That said the rooms have all modern conveniences and very comfortable beds, the breakfast is traditional French, simple but fresh and tasty served by Gilles the owner, a really friendly quietly spoken gentleman. St Omer is 20 minutes drive away if you want to eat in town in the evening, there are several restaurants closer to the house, but opening times vary depending on the season. The stay is excellent value for money.

Gilles was an excellent host. My room was spacious and the bed comfortable. There was also a kettle in the room, which is unusual in France. The house is a beautifully restored Napoleonic era building set in lovely gardens. The location is just 30 minutes from Calais and 5 minutes from the WW2 Blockhaus at Eperlecques.

Breakfast was plentiful but a very simple continental style - bread and croissants. It was fresh and tasty but some might prefer a wider choice.

For the price, the location and facilities are superb. There are only 3 rooms, in a secluded location in the French countryside. Gilles is a very hospitable host and very quiet and thoughtful. Breakfast was ample and the rooms were warm and cosy. Travelled with our two dogs and the grounds are lovely and clean with space for the dogs to have a walk. Highly recommended- as this is our 2nd stay and won’t be our last

Beautiful location. Kind host. Parking on site. It felt safe. It was very quiet. 30 min to the Eurotunnel.

Our room was dark as it was on the North side of the building. It had a musty atmosphere. I would suggest the other rooms facing West-South are nicer. The drain in the shower was very slow to drain. Beware of mosquitos if you leave the windows open. Ok, we are in the countryside and there is water all around, but something to consider.
