Came to EastSeven cause of the wonderful reviews about the warm friendly atmosphere and it's true! I was pretty anxious travelling alone cause my friends were busy, but honestly found it so welcoming and easy to make new friends there. Many of the staff there (it's largely friendly Aussies) are volunteers helping out, so you know they're genuinely passionate about the hostel, and they run social events like family dinners, board games, drinks, etc every night to help you meet each other before going out together! The vibe also depends on who else is there at the time of your stay, but I was pretty lucky that everyone was awesome there when I stayed. There are several large social spaces including a kitchen and common room to hang with others if that's your thing, but also a dining area with smaller tables if you'd prefer a bit of alone time. There's also an outdoor area to chill. Despite staying in a 12 person room, the room was clean, spacious and well lit, with each bed serviced by a handy outlet containing an AC outlet, USB charging ports, a bed light, etc. Locker cages are available under the bed (BYO padlock, or hire from reception). I think bookings made through booking.com may also include a towel (try ask reception but please don't quote me on it x). This is oddly specific but is much appreciated by me - but the shower water pressure is amazing and the hot water is incredible, and it made me feel semi-human again after two nights of going out. Location-wise, it's close to a metro station and just a few stops from Alexanderplatz. There's also a tram a few minutes' walk away that takes you into town. A Lidl is also two minutes' walk down the road. Food-wise, there's also a few options nearby including a good burger restaurant, Indian restaurant, falafel restaurant, kebabs, pizza joint, etc.

Context of my stay: I'm a solo traveler and I spent 5 nights at EastSeven in a 4 girls-only bedroom (2 bunk beds). I had such a great time there! The place is very clean, the staff is nice and thoughtful, and the hostel has everything you need (kitchen, dining room, great terrace to enjoy sunny days, a living room, clean bathrooms...). It's situated in a perfect location: a 20-minute walk from the main tourist attractions, but in a very peaceful yet lively neighborhood with lots of great restaurants, bars, and supermarkets around. I also felt the place was perfect for both those who want to have fun/meet people—you can join the daily events organized by the staff—and those who prefer calm environments: you can enjoy peaceful times during the day, and the hostel has a nighttime policy to respect everyone's sleep, which I really appreciated. I definitely recommend EastSeven and I would love to come back for my next trip to Berlin!
Everything was great! But maybe the bunk beds could benefit from some small storage space, like a net or a shelf on the side, because the existing shelf is right above your head, which can be kinda dangerous. If you put something on them, it might fall on your face during the night—speaking from experience here ^^'.

The hostel was fantastic. I enjoyed everything, from communication through Booking to my departure. They responded to me very quickly. Upon arrival, it felt like they were expecting me. The staff is very cool and friendly, which helped ease any formal tension. I stayed in a room with three other people. The room was clean, minimalistic, and spacious. There is a standard USB socket and an iPhone socket right above each bed. The mattress was on the firmer side, which personally suited me. The shared showers and toilets were clean, and I never encountered a queue for the shower. The hostel offers many evening activities. As an introvert, I gradually got involved in the hostel community over a short period. I met various wonderful people. The location is very convenient; even if you're not familiar with the city's transportation system, you can easily walk to the hostel in 30 minutes, where they will explain and guide you without any issues.
Perhaps the only drawback was the absence of power outlets near the bed. I had to charge my computer either in another part of the room or go downstairs with my belongings.

I booked a 4-bed bedroom, I was a bit unsure if it would be a good choice as I was a solo traveler and was on business and pleasure at the same time and would need to get a proper sleep. I am happy to say that i can guarantee that noise policy after 10 pm is very well respected in the hostel ans even the lights in the room remained off (although this depends on your roommates). The cleanliness of the hostel also impressed me, one of the cleanest I've ever been to, both the bathrooms and rooms, very clean, the mattress was also of good quality. The staff is very helpful and friendly, for those who want to meet new people they organize everynight a moment of interaction between guests and there is also free coffee and milk in the mornings. Although I didn't use the kitchen, everything seemed very clean and organized. The location is also extremely convenient, close to the metro station (max 5 min walking) and to many tourist attractions. I recommend it to all travelers.
Nothing…I liked it all.

The area, in which the hostel is located, may not seem central on the surface, but just take the underground and you are at Alexanderpatz in five minutes. It is very aesthetically pleasing, being an area where pre-war Berlin has been mostly preserved. The first thing that strikes you on entering the hostel is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, always ready to help you with anything. The cleanliness is impeccable and the beds very comfortable. The common areas are also very clean and welcoming, with lots of entertainment for guests. The breakfast is simple but good. All in all, great experience. Highly recommended!
Nothing!

EastSeven is truly one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at. Things I liked about it were: - Super friendly staff members that gave great recommendations and were always around to help - Spacious rooms with comfy beds - Easy to use kitchen and fridge space - Great, safe location (close to train station, cute neighbourhood, walking distance to city) - Activities every night run by the team (eg dinner night, board games, drinking games, etc) - Great outdoor area for chatting with other people in the hostel
I loved the hostel, I truly have nothing I didn’t like about the property.

This was my first stay in a hostel so cannot compare. The staff was great and helpful (told me about the next bike app - super easy way to move around Berlin!!). The room was clean and quiet (most of the nights). Location was perfect for me! Nice cafe just on the corner of the main street. And amazing restaurant too just next to the coffee shop. Close to Central Berlin.
Not the fault of the hostel, but after a sleepless last night (one of the women came in around 1am when I had just fallen asleep, I could not fall asleep after that), I realised that the hostels are not for me.

Great location in a lovely social, albeit calm hostel. The people behind the desk were super friendly and helpful. I felt like they saw an old friend after a long time, which was very nice. Be wary though that this hostel caters to a bit younger crowd(20-25 y.o.). I really liked this crowd as they were super friendly, calm and also wanted to explore the city. The dorms were super spacious and felt, by their design, very calming. There was enough space to store your stuff.
The only thing they could improve is adding privacy curtains to the beds. There is a sort of protection for your head next to the bed but does not beat a privacy curtain.

Really close to Senefelderplatz subway station and Alexanderplatz. The staff is incredible, nice and helpful. If you want any tips for ANY TYPE of thing that you came to Berlin for, they are your guys: restaurant recomendations, museums, last minute plans, laundry, parties/bars/discos, everything really. On site, you have a lot of spots to relax (and/or meet the other guests), watch tv or engage in their daily game nights of various types. They provide you a free and simple breakfast - very much appreciated by us - of cereal, milk and coffee (with some vegan options) and they have a machine for you to fill your water bottles for free, as well as free wifi and room heating. In the shared bathrooms, they have blowdryers, and complimentary hair and body gel for our showers (although sometimes, there was no bodygel, because of the amount of people using the shower, so don't take it from granted) All in all, it was a GREAT EXPERIENCE, as we want - and will - come again.
The bedroom doors NEED to be more well maintained as some of them squeak too much. In my opinion I think the beds need an extra pair of pillows for each person, since they are TOO thin, as well as the mattress.

Very comfy beds. Great location, tons of great places to eat near by. Really active hostel community with lots of social opportunities, and the staff was super helpful with navigating Berlin especially if it’s your first time
Quiet hours at 10 sucked. Felt like the social time was one of the best parts of the hostel and it got cut short every night with the quiet hours. I get they need to accommodate for people trying to work and are not necessarily the party/outgoing type, but I would’ve appreciated less restrictions on social time in the evenings.
