Lovely hotel in a very quiet town, right by the river. It is so pretty and the rooms were amazing . We had a room with a balcony which faced the bridge and the river. The room was very modern and extremely clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with lots of good choice. Our dog was made very welcome and allowed to accompany us everywhere in the hotel. I can highly recommend this hotel.

We chose the hotel as it had a restaurant with a good review. After having driven a long way we looked forward to a nice meal but the restaurant was not open which was very disappointing.

We've had a loveley time at Das Waldhaus. Upon arrival we got an upgrade of our booking for a room with a balcony and a wonderful view of the forest and the river. The host was really friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was great with lots of options and nicely presented with care. The nicely decorated room has everything you could need in a hotel. Including a good bed, an area to sit, a smart TV and clean bathroom. Das waldhaus was really a 'home away from home'. The restaurant serves Japanese/asain cuisine as well as some typical German dishes. Would highly recommend to eat here. You can park the car for free in front of Das waldhaus and the area is really beautiful. The trainstation and a supermarket are around the corner.

Nothing about Das Waldhaus itself was disappointing. Forbach itself is a really quiet and small town, there are no restaurants or shops (besides the supermarket, a local bakery/coffee shop and Das waldhaus restaurant). Just something to be aware of depending on your wishes.

We arrived late for only one night. It is a shame that we didn't see much of the surroundings. The location is nice, position beside the river and a beautiful wooden bridge, which is quite in your face if you sit on their outside terras or, like us, from the large balcony on the side of the hotel. It has a pretty contemporary and fresh looking interrior. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent. It is located on the edge of a bigger village which look interesting. Parking is outside. The bathroom is good and has a decent roomy shower. Also good beds.

Nothing realy. May be a tip is to do some maintenance on the wood of the balcony.

Location was very good, it's a small town, but it's very central to a lot of other places. Public transport easily accessible. River will make some noise at night which will help you fall asleep easily. Breakfast was good and had variety. Personnel was very friendly and helpful. Asian style restaurant was very good and I can definitely recommend the vegan bowl and the crunchy sushi.

The bar closes early and there is not much to do in the town, however, this was to be expected in a small town. If you're 2m tall then the beds might be on the small side.

Great location next to a river (calming river noise throughout day) and a beautiful wooden covered bridge. Our room was very nice and large. Bed was comfy, bathroom was a good size. Staff was friendly. Free coffee/tea was available at a station in the hall, along with drinks vending for soda/water/beer/wine.nBreakfast was exceptional - so many options and lots of fresh fruits/veg. The town of Forbach itself doesn't have much going on. A few restaurants, including the one for the inn itself, but we were interested in exploring the Black Forest, so this was a great location for that.

Parking is a little tricky - there are a limited number of free spots that require some maneuvering/smaller cars. There's also some free street parking (what we got). Check in took a little while. Two of the three windows in our room (#2) didn't close super well/had old seals so some noise from the street/restaurant was present.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Comfy beds and although you don't have coffee making facilities in the room there is an area for guests where you can make tea/coffee, get water for free. Great breakfast Lovely sauna area Great view - Our room overlooked the river and covered bridge

The location, view and staff where wonderful. Rare to see a staff so involved with the guests. The food (breakfast and dinner) in the restaurant where also very good. My girlfriend had her birthday and they gave her a special breakfast with cake and champagne. She felt really special and it's something we will both remember for a long time. Many thanks to the great staff of this property!

For us personally the beds where uncomfortable hard. That's a personal thing and you can't have it to everyone's liking. All in all we've had a great stay and will recommend it to people of they search something in the area.

The extremely polite and welcoming hosts always ready to help with an enormous and friendly smile. The coffee/tea/drinks station in the hall was super! The option to choose our room from a selection of 3 available was a very sweet gesture from the hosts.

Absolutely nothing.

The room with a terrace with view to the river and and hammock and rest chair was really great to relax in the evening and also to pass by some hours of rain. The staff at the hotel itself was really friendly including staff at the breakfast buffet. The breakfast was also really good.

One evening we had dinner at the hotel's restaurant and other day coffee and cake and the staff in the restaurant was not as friendly as in the hotel. Furthermore, our waiter at dinner seemed to be angry most of the time and also brought the wrong dish. We didn't complain at all but we just chose a different restaurant for the next dinner.

This house is well situated close.to the station and village shops. Walking opportunities are abundant and the routes well signposted.The property has a sauna and guests are able to use the riverside terrace. The excellent breakfasts are generous with plenty of choice and there are free coffee and tea making facilities throughout the day . The owners were welcoming, friendly and ever helpful. We certainly hope to revisit this warm and friendly establishment.

Our room would have benefitted from more storage space and a mirror in the bedroom in addition to the one in the bathroom.
