Our room was very spacious and clean with a cozy balcony looking at the ski slopes. King bed was super comfortable. With exception of two ladies, the staff were very friendly and welcoming especially the lady attending the breakfast bar was so sweet and attentive. Their restaurant is pretty good, and breakfast selection was decent. It’s a quick drive to the center and shopping areas. The hotel is located almost at the Partnach gorge trailhead with several restaurants within a walking distance. It’s quiet unless there are ski practices which is actually fun to watch right from the balcony! Free parking for guests is provided.

Everything was very well and the size of the room definitely exceeded our expectations. It was a bit surprising that daily cleaning was not provided during our 3 night stay. We tried to keep the place as clean as possible but with a small baby we had diapers and other trash that was not taken out for the entire stay. I am not sure if this happened because they only provide housekeeping upon check-out or by request, but I don’t remember seeing signs about it in the property. In our room there was no refrigerator or air conditioner, just something to note if you are counting on it.

The History of Olympiahaus is very interesting, as the place for the opening ceremony of the 1936 Winter Olympics, the hotel is full of classic photos from the event. It is also right inside the ski-stadium, at the bottom of both the Worldcup nighttime Slalom venue (Gudiberg) and the New Year's day ski jump. Everybody at Olympiahaus has been very friendly and tried to make our stay as nice as possible. Food is a mix of traditional and vegetarian options. The house wine was perfectly drinkable, even for wine snobs. Rooms were, well, roomy and clean. The number 2 bus stops right in front of the skistadium and brings you all the way to Alpspitzbahn Station, at the bottom of the Super-G Kandahar piste.

Although the area has the Gudiberg piste, it isn't connected with the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Classic ski area. We found taxis and the number 2 bus quite useful to get around the resort. Especially since Garmisch-Partenkirchen already has an slightly antiquated ski transport system in the form of the Alpspitzbahn. More about that in another review. Lastly good to remember: Olympiahaus has guests all year round, and does not cater to skiers exclusively. For example, the hotel does not have a boot room; you take your boots to your room and your skis stay in the basement. It didn't bother us, since I am happy to keep my boots with me.

We had an excellent view from our room!! The staff was super flexible with our check-in and check-out hours which we appreciated a lot. The location was perfect - you could start your hike to the Partnachklamm and surrounding areas from there and the Sommerrodelbahn was right next to it as well. City Center was only a short drive away (could have even walked there). We booked a room with a shared bathroom, but ended up getting our own bathroom (just not in the room).

Awesome hotel with a cool terrace and a view to the ski jumping arena. Rooms are spacious and clean. We arrived after working hours, and we got our keys in an envelope attached to the entrance door, very convenient. It is very close to a cool wonder of nature - Partnachklamm - a must visit place.

A bit confusing parking place in front of hotel, all signs are just in German.

Jenny and Hannah were awesome! So helpful! Food was wonderful. Transportation was easy but not always frequent. Check schedule to be sure you're not waiting for too long. Close to lots of activities that we were interested in doing.

I liked that you could go downstairs and have a really good traditional meal and beer. It was also right next to a bus stop, and a short hike to the partnachklamm. The stay came with a "Gästekarte" that we used to get a small discount on local attractions, it was a good surprise. The staff was really nice and accommodating, and there was free parking on premises (which is hard to find in tourist towns).

The pillows were super squishy, but that's just personal preference. If you're prudish, you could say that having to leave your room to access the shower and toilet was something not to like. But I did not have a problem with it, it reminded me of hostels I'd stay at during my college days (which is a good thing)

Excellent location at the bottom of the ski jump with a balcony overlooking. Very large bedroom, nice little restaurant - very traditional Bavarian. Parking right outside the property.

Its location is accessible to bus, parks, and activities. The view of the mountain is nice.

The hotel is kinda creepy. Especially at night. The old furniture is still there, and the creeking of the wood makes an eerie feel.

Lovely style of hotel, particularly liked the paintings in the hall and old fashioned furniture. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the buffet breakfast was good value. The cakes were also very nice, and it was interesting having the 1936 Olympic stands and ski jump ramps outside the back door.
