Delicious breakfast but a bit pricy. Delicious bread, in Germany never disappoints. They have amazing original cocktails and the personnel was really kind and attentive to my needs.

When walking barefoot in my room I felt the floor was slightly dusty. I normally travel with my flip-flops but this time I forgot them. I'm sure the cleanliness of the floor could be improved. Other than that, it was spotless. During breakfast, there were not many options for warm food like scrambled eggs, sausages, or omelets. And I was not able to use the parking or the charging stations. It was full when I arrived but yeah...it was a weekend so I guess the hotel was full.

Comfy and cozy bed and comforters for a chilly week in November! Breakfast was excellent. It is a buffet with a fine selection of high quality breads, cold cuts, hardboiled eggs and delicious condiments. Bar was inviting and privately set for a quiet evening. Employees were attentive and kind. Yasmin, Lenny, Manny and Iris were the employees we had the privilege to meet and who assisted us. We were able to leave our luggage with the hotel since we had arrived too early for check-in. There is a Taxi stop directly across the street and we chose to use it a couple of times.

We thought breakfast was a little costly but it was actually a better deal than searching out an establishment down the street. It is extremely popular(We went in too late on Sunday and the food was gone). It was Karnival weekend so we understood. One other thing we found at every hotel in the 5 German cities where we stayed-there is no small washcloth(The square ones) offered or available. In Frankfurt at the airport hotel they did have them.

The complimentary drink in the bar, the rooms were pleasant. Liked the bar and its vibe. Very comfortable beds. Very clean bedrooms. Easy heating controls, nice TV.

The Galley was useless. Couldn’t get hot water. Tea was vile. Appreciated the drinks/ snack machine. Put tea/coffee in the rooms please. Breakfast was our biggest problem. No-one greeted us or took our room numbers nor helped us to find a table for 3. Staff seemed busy but did not replenish the products on time so guests were constantly having to ask for cups, glasses, bowls, cofffee, eggs, croissants. It wasn’t a good vibe at all. Didn’t look like anyone was in charge directing operations. Need to sort this out as it was a major problem every morning. Food was good though.

The Ruby Ella has such a good vibe- the staff were very friendly and helpful. our room had everything we needed for 3 nights - we opted to have a free drink rather than our room cleaned. Shower was great (2 settings) there is a big mirror with lights, really good wardrobe space. Also, there were 2 duvets on the bed which was great ( very hard to find hotels that offer twin beds in cologne) The bar area is really nice and I really liked the huge variety for breakfast. The food is really good quality. The hotel is in the Belgian quarter and it’s my favourite area in cologne for food and drinks. The hotel is less than a 20min from the cathedral and main strain station I was so impressed with this hotel overall that I will be staying at their hotel in Munich next year

I had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. The breakfast was fantastic with a variety of options, and the cleanliness throughout the hotel was top-notch. Parking was also convenient and hassle-free. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel for its excellent service, cleanliness, and great breakfast.

However, there could be a small improvement. While the hotel did offer slippers, they came at an extra charge of 2.5 euros, which I believe could be included as a complimentary item.

A very tastefully designed hotel. Extremely modern and clean. Our room was spotlessly clean. Nice facilities, such as complimentary tea and coffee in communal galleys. The bar is nice, and the service is great. Check in is seamless and quick, and check out instant. Well located, a 15/20 minute walk from the Dom, and close to other Christmas markets. Very close to U-Bahn stop.

There was nothing during our stay that we didn't like. The room layout as regards the bathroom is slightly unusual and may not be to every traveller's liking.

Great central location and very hip and funky in its decor. Nice touches like the Marshall speaker and Bluetooth speaker in the room. An excellent feature is the Galley on each floor with useful stuff like coffee and a (clean) iron and ironing board. Very handy if you need to spruce up that polo shirt before a night on the town.

I slightly downgraded the score for cleaning because, whilst the overall standard was good, some spilt crumbs of Pringles weren’t vacuumed up throughout my 3-day stay. I had tried to clean them up myself but it really needed a good vacuuming, which didn’t happen. Also, the wet room shower curtain needed replacing as it was rather manky at the bottom. To be fair, they were very busy as it was Euros 2024.

A really nice hotel. Interestingly designed and spacious room with some cool features such as an amplifier in the room. Great bar - nicely decorated with some unusual cocktails. Possible to forego housekeeping for a drinks voucher. A lot of choice at breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Not right in the centre but close enough and with plenty of local establishments within walking distance. Check in and check out very easy.

I understand the 'lean luxury' concept, although would have been good to have had a few more amenities available and not from a vending machine, where the price of some of these was quite high (e.g. €12 for an umbrella). Galley on my floor had a broken hot water tap and whilst possible to use the galleys on other floors, this is hardly ideal and should not be seen as a solution for anything longer than about a day.

Booked this stay a couple of hours before we arrived whilst travelling through Europe. Had no experience of the Ruby chain of hotels prior and thought for £80 it was superb value. Wow! What a deal we got. The hotel is immaculate, very quirky and charming design elements. We were most impressed with the parking facilities (there’s not much details on booking.com) it’s a huge underground garage with ample parking and completely secure. We were travelling with a Tesla Model Y and some European parking is a bit tight for big vehicles we had no worries here! Rooms are immaculate with nice design features. It’s in a great central location close to coffee shops, supermarkets bars and restaurants. Rooms are ample for a short stay with modern design features. Bathroom products are gorgeous and smell amazing. Far cheaper and better than most budget hotels in the U.K.

We really enjoyed our stay in Ruby Ella Hotel, fantastic modern hotel in a good location of Cologne close to lots of restaurants and bars, our room had a very comfortable bed, bathroom had a walk in style shower, good selection at breakfast, staff were all friendly and helpful, would stay again if I ever return to Cologne

Room rate was a bit pricey but we were there during the Euros football so it's to be expected Air conditioning cannot be turned off completely, not the best for my wife who is from Kazakhstan and doesn't like the cold 🙃
