A gem of a hotel in the old city archive building. Architecturally fascinating as a rare survivor of 19th century gothic revival. Julia and Nicholas were so helpful and friendly, providing recommendations where to eat and places to explore. Recommendations were not too touristy with good food and drinks. Well priced bar at the hotel to enjoy a cold beer at the end of a busy day. Location was a ten minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof so close enough to enjoy the old town, but far enough to be quiet and peaceful in the evening. We had considered hotels on the river front, but when we investigated when in the city, we were pleased to be at the Qvest as others would possibly have been quite noisy at night. The location next to St Guerion Church was fantastic - oldest church in Europe dedicated in 350 CE and much of the Roman building remains. A real sense of continuity and history. Enjoyed the library on the first floor of the hotel. Have since bought copies of some of the books a read there. Artwork and furnishings all unique but suit the building. We will go back to Koln one day and this is where we hope to stay again.

An elegant neo-Gothic building turned into a hotel with lots of atmosphere and a contemporary, designer vibe. It’s in a quiet square (which once had a cloister) right opposite one of the city’s gems, the Romanesque church of St Gereon, and just a ten minute walk from the cathedral. Right next door is a good, and stylish, Italian restaurant. My room was very comfortable, the staff are helpful and enthusiastic. The bar/breakfast room with its large windows is a particularly pleasant and relaxing space for a coffee after a hard day’s sightseeing.

The cupboard in my room seemed to be designed for tall people who travel with few clothes. The breakfast offer would benefit from more than one type of egg (boiled). But neither of these things would prevent me from returning!

Impressive building, very friendly staff, especially the lady at the reception upon arrival. room really clean, good shower, separate toilet, minibar. good location in between mediapark and city center, with public parking space close by.

not sure how it will be in summer, as there is no airconditioning, and we had a room at the top floor. it would be nice to have coffee facilities in the room, which is something simple but improves the overall experience. Breakfast was nice, but it is probably not sustainable to have 1 person having to serve coffee for all, and providing the set of charcuterie for all separately. Probably better to have a full buffet, ensure a coffee machine, and also provide some scrambled egg and bacon for example.

I would highly recommend a stay at the Qvest when visiting Cologne. One Can find peace and calm right in the middle of the City. Very fine coffee and breakfast in the bar area, gorgeous library space and lots of contemporary Art Photography and rooms in between the hotelrooms. The bed was really comfortable and my room was cute and with a lovely view. Last but not least the staff was super service minded and friendly with a personal touch. I will definetely come back again.

We stayed just for one night and fell in love with the place right away. The neo-Gothic building is just beautiful and the hotel atmosphere is exceptional, especially at night. Location and surrounded area is also very welcoming.

Our room, although spacious, looked very basic and just didn't give us the kind of cosy feeling we would expect from this kind of hotel. Especially the bathroom could be more thoughtfully designed.

Breakfast was a little pricey, but given what good value the hotel’s overall offering is I’d definitely stay here again.

Extraordinary location! A beautifully renovated historic building, friendly staff and excellent coffee in the restaurant on the ground floor. Staying here made our stay in Cologne extra special.

Our room was quite small, but very comfortable and we had a great view. At night there was much echoing from the square below. But overall a nice, quiet spot in town.

The very positive experience started at check in, with a really helpful lady. The building is a fantastic renovation of an old building, beautifully done. The breakfast was charming, super friendly staff, very nice environment.

Nothing to complain about at all, this really is a great place to stay.
