The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They provided helpful directions and assisted me in booking taxis and restaurants. The breakfast offered was delicious and abundant. The room was spacious and conveniently located. Lots of restaurants & supermarket in the surroundings.

However, there is room for improvement in Housekeeping. They occasionally forgot to refill coffee and towels in my colleague's room. While I only requested housekeeping every other day, on the final day, the housekeeper inadvertently overlooked restocking coffee and towels. However, upon notifying the staff, the items were replenished within 10 minutes.

Location is ideal, facilities ideal (bathroom is super important ) and the breakfast buffet was fantastic

When my partner checked in he got lovely service and we continued to only work with that staff member going forwards, the staff is the restaurant we're fabulous and extra helpful and friendly. When I checked in however unfortunately the lady at the front desk was snappy, rude, and clearly not having a very good day. I remained very polite and friendly but avoided asking her anything from then onwards. I left a poor impression on me and I got the feeling that my travel apparel (I had a 7 hour journey to get there) made her assume I was in the wrong place. That was really very unfortunate

The breakfast was great, with a wide selection and the bonus was the omelet bar. The location was central to what we wanted to accomplish...visiting the Cologne Christmas markets, and using the public transportation.

The wi-fi seemed spotty and we were better off not using it to retrieve the information we wanted. I realize the reception desks are always busy, but right at the end, after my wife was waiting to check out and then by-passed by another customer, she went to the desk and was told by the receptionist that her counterpart would assist her at the other desk.

Excellent location, lovely rooms, clean and tidy, no noise despite being close to so many great places!

Despite the many fancy cars (rolls Royce, Lamborghini, Ferraris etc) and the obviously rich folks that stay at the Steigenberger I wouldn’t call it 5 star. The checking and check out were poorly staffed with really long waits and lots of people waiting with only one or two staff and this meant that you couldn’t just ask a question or for recommendations/directions as it always took half an hour to speak to reception. The only other gripe was the terrible pillows, I’ve no idea what they were thinking!! No support ‘empty’ flat pillows. But otherwise a nice hotel in a great location

We had a memorable time in Cologne. The hotel completely met our expectations. The location was excellent and made commuting easy. We upgraded our room to a higher standard for a reasonable price, and it was the right decision, as we enjoyed a stunning view of the entire city from the 10th floor and a spacious room with a large bathroom. Overall, everything was clean and cozy. The breakfast was also quite good. This hotel can definitely be recommended if you are looking for a high standard of service and quality accommodation.

The accommodation is perfect, I asked for a room on the top floor and they honored my request. We had a great view over the city. The hotelroom had a small space to sit at the window and enjoy the night city skyline. The hotel was easy to reach by car and they have a parking space underneath the hotel. It costs 25 euro a day which is reasonable. The hotel is located in the city center and the main shopping street is 5 minutes away. The hotelroom was very spacious with a big comfortable bed and a great big shower. The room looked like it was just renovated and everything was very clean. Only the pillows are very soft and the waterboiler didn't work so well. However, these are minor complaints because overall this is a great hotel. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel for visitors of Cologne.

Very clean. Nice staff. Excellent location for safety, restaurants, parking and transportation (tram stop directly in front) parking in bottom hotel a plus. Rooms are large for European rooms. Handicap (mobility scooter) notes: fully accessible, large elevator, could use more hand bars in bathroom.

Can’t think of anything. Breakfast is Expensive if you pay for it at property (25e at front desk at check in or 27e at breakfast) vs in advance at time of booking (20e). But not a big deal. Great place. Breakfast was incredible.

Staff were really friendly, someone was always on reception if you needed anything. Breakfast was great, really well signposted for vegans and vegetarians which makes like so much easier. Coffees weren’t great but the marble cake and the different cheeses and breads were amazing; one of the breakfast team, a chef I think, was exceptionally friendly and always had a huge smile on his face. The room was nice, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was a good size too.

The location felt quite far from the main train station, easily walkable if you’re fine with a 30/40 minute walk and there are some really nice coffee boutiques near by and the SS museum is around 15 minutes away too, but when we were walking back from Claudius Therme, it felt never ending 😅

Great modern hotel with comprehensive breakfast choices and the staff worked hard to keep it supplied and tables clear. Our room was very large and had a view of the Rudolfplatz Gate with the Cathedral in the distance. It has easy access to both Metro and Trams, and would recommend buying a Cologne Travel Ticket to gain quick access to the historic centre. The bar was very pleasant and not overly expensive. In the bar/lounge area they provide complimentary hot and cold drinks. They have a great pillow menu that I found very helpful. I would definitely return if in Cologne again.

We arrived in a May heatwave, and as with all hotels these days air conditioning units are the norm and we struggled to get it work efficiently! The housekeeper reset it for us, but it was still a little too warm for our comfort. In keeping with German law, the bar is not open on a Sunday evening.
