The location of the hotel was great. It was right in the middle of the city. It took 10mins to walk to the shopping centre, 24mins to walk to the street with more restaurants. We literally walked everywhere and even walked to the chocolate museum which was less than an hour’s walk. The staff at the hotel were great, always welcoming, very knowledgeable and had a smile on their faces at all times. The breakfast options were great. The eggs are cooked to your liking and I loved the freshly baked croissants.

The only slight thing I would add is for the tiny round hole in the bathroom sink to be cleaned. The sink itself was clean, just that tiny hole as your eyes immediately go to it whilst on the toilet.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Perfect location, only 7 minute walk to the main train station (which is right next to the cathedral), very close to the waterfront, a square with many restaurants and main shopping street. Breakfast was excellent, eggs to order, breads/croissant, juices, espresso machine, cheese and meats and a specialty dish each day. Staff was really welcoming and nice. Room was comfy and had everything we needed. Would defiantly stay again!

Nothing, no complaints!

Rarely have I been so impressed by a hotel’s service, cleanliness and comfort. The staff was extremely helpful, starting by providing directions and recommendations for where to go based on the time I had available. When I mistakenly thought the sink had a defect and reported it, the staff came up immediately to try and rectify it. He explained to me how the drainage worked. The breakfast spread was also superb, with a daily homemade dish. For the morning I was there, it was an excellent French toast. The home was compact, clean and comfortable. The lighting and shower systems were also intuitive to use. There was also a nice minibar, though I didn’t use it. All in all, I felt that Stern am Rathaus was the highlight of my stay in Cologne!

WE LOVED EVERYTHING! The location was superb - very central, 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral and the main railway station and just 2 minutes from two of the Christmas Markets. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with everything you could think of available and beautifully presented. Eggs and bacon are cooked to order and I had a delicious omelette. The room was very well appointed - so clean and new and included everything we could possibly need including a fridge, a safe, a hairdryer and even a tea/coffee making tray. The staff were outstanding, the best hotel staff we have ever encountered - so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. On arrival, once we had unpacked, Andy gave us a map and talked us through the places of interest including the different Christmas Markets. Obviously he tailored the discussion to our particular interests. We chose this hotel because of the excellent reviews and we weren't disappointed.

There was NOTHING we didn't like. However, be aware there is no lift which might not suit some people.

Great location just a few blocks from the markets. The staff was helpful in providing directions and ensuring we were comfortable. The room was well laid out, if not large. And plenty of storage. The bathroom had a huge tub and shower. And a warm towel rack. Everything was spotless. Great breakfast included. Nice view from the room as well.

No elevator and we were on the 7th, but we received help with the luggage, which was lovely. It was a bit warm in the room, but we were able to crack windows and that was fine. There was no coffee available in the room, but tea. No parking on site, but they do provide a discount at a local garage. Overall, very minor things. Really great stay!

An exceptional hotel in a perfect location by the cathedral ideal for exploring Cologne. The staff could not have been more helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. The quality of the room accommodation was superb and the breakfast was amazing with so much choice and attention to detail. Thanks for looking after us and for making our stay in Cologne such a memorable one. You should be congratulated on running such a superb and wonderful hotel.

Location was perfect; we stayed in the two bedroom apartment with the living room sofa bed made up as third bedroom - perfect for family with two teenagers! Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast had a good selection to choose with chef available to cook eggs as requested which was perfect for us.

The staff are excellent! Ignmar, Andy, and Francisco were so kind and friendly. Everyone is amazing! The location is excellent. Close to the train station and cathedral while being right next to the bustling squares. The breakfast is great, with lots of options and the staff will help you with anything you need. And the rooms are clean and have everything you'd need, though you probably won't spend much time there!

Absolutely nothing! It was wonderful!

The best accommodation during our entire 12days trip! Upon our late arrival, Andy sent us a detailed information on how to get our keys to the room but we had difficulties and had to call him. Eventhough it was late and he had left, he most kindly explained to us and at this point my mom and i thought this place is going to be more than what we expected. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Great location but still very quiet at night to get a decent sleep even though it's right at the center. You can literally go to any tourist sights within 5 min. Parking lot is not far and the hotel offers discount which is great. The breakfast was just excellent! Great variety of food with some homemade selections. Little greetings on our plate just made our day so enlightening. Details of the settings, display and atmosphere is just beyond! Even better than the so what called named/brand hotels. But what is most great about this place is the hospitality of the staff. Andy and other staffs always had smile on their face and made us feel like we were at close friend's house. I highly recommend this place to all and truly wish others visiting Koeln/Cologne would get to experience what my family had. Thanks again Andy and wish you all the best! Will try to revisit for the Christmas market! :)

Absolutely nothing!

Property was perfect! Gorgeous hotel, the best location and amazing staff. We just could not say enough good things about our stay here. Would absolutely stay here again next time we visit Köln The breakfast was incredible- best we have ever had at a hotel. The rooms was large, clean and had everything we needed for our family of five. Would give this my highest review for all of the hotels we have stayed in on our trip so far.
