My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this modest yet charming hotel for one night, and we were genuinely impressed by the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome and cared for. The team went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. When we needed an umbrella to explore the city during unexpected rain, they were quick to lend us one. Additionally, I experienced a personal incident during my stay, and their genuine care and willingness to assist during that time truly stood out. Their warmth and understanding turned a potentially stressful moment into a manageable one. Though the hotel is simple, it offers everything you need for a pleasant stay, and the exceptional service provided by the staff makes it an unforgettable experience. Hotel met my expectations. I was amazed with the location which is perfect. Premises were minimal in size but speciuos enough for shoort staying. Staff is excelent, From 1 to 10 I give them 12. Very proffesional, polite and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty and hotel have every reason to be proud on its restaurant. Plenty reasons to chose this hotel, especially if you don't feel the need to pay larger sum for accomodation.

Room I was in, is ready for redecoration since all the carpentry, bathroom tiles and rugs are from late 70-ies or early 80-ies style. Nothing was broken and everything was functional but realy obsolete.

The hotel and my room were very good. The hotel is directly opposite the train station, which was ideal for me as I had an early start to travel the next day. The receptionist who checked me in was efficient and helpful. My room was quite big, very clean and comfortable, with lots of storage space for luggage. It looked out on a central inner area, and was quiet at night. The bathroom was also clean, with a powerful shower and lots of hot water and toiletries. Linen and towels were good quality. I didn't have breakfast. Very good service from start to finish.

It's super close to the main station, great location, especially if you get stuck in the middle of the night thanks to Deutsche Bahn lol... Staff was also friendly and the room was quiet and comfortable.

I feel like it could do with some modernization - but especially I felt like they were a little too proud of the services they provide which are literally the bare minimum - talking about the "gift" they leave you in the room to welcome you ... a small bottle of water - plus that the rooms have wifi... Not really something special these days:))

Good location. Good looking old building, very clean inside. Small rooms but in good condition, nice bathroom with excellent shower.

Even if hotel has a lift (built later I assume), it leaves most customers in half floor so you have to do stairs, in our case over 20 steps both ways. For our old dog it meant that dog needed to be carried 4 times a day both ways. Hotel should clearly mention this in its description.

I have to say that breakfast was really good. Location is close to s-bahn and in acceptable distance most of required shops, pubs etc. Room was clean and people on reception very helpful and supportive.

So the hotel is in a building where there is one elevator and stairs. I lived on the 4th floor so I preferred the stairs. I was cold in the room probably because of the air conditioning, which I tried to set up for a while but I didn't succeed, it happened to be very warm and nice, so it wasn't essential. The ventilation from the shower sometimes gives off an unpleasant smell, but that is to be expected.

I have stayed at Hotel Königshof many times. It has old decor but it really clean and all the staff with the exception of one were wonderful, helpful, friendly and efficient. I am used to the small lift so that did not bother me at all (but I did not have many suitcases or a pram etc to take upstairs). I was given a single room on the 4th floor with only one step to climb after gettin gout of the lift. It was facing the courtyard (no pretty picture) but very quiet and I could sleep with my window open. The breakfast was good (same every day) except for sweet buns, or confectionary. The location is excellent and the train station is very clean and no drug addicts hanging around. Amazing how Mainz does this as other cities do not manage this. Lots of places in the station for buying meals, fruit, etc. (I especially liked the Tai place). As well as shopping places and a chemist. The hotel is on a little shady square with restaurants and tables outside. I sat there twice enjoying a meal at the place across the road. All in all it was a really good stay of 5 nights.

The Wifi access needed to be changed 3 times that was a bit nervy. The one unfriendly lady at reception was in connection with that. She made me go downstairs so she could help me with that but once I was there she could not help me because I had a Mac and proceeded to blame me for not informing her I had a Mac. But she never asked me about what kind of laptop I had. She was extremely rude and continued to make me at fault the whole time I was there.

Lovely hotel right in the centre of Mainz, virtually directly opposite the train station. All the staff were really nice, actually genuinely friendly and very welcoming. I had an inner courtyard room at the weekend (Friday and Saturday nights) and there was virtually no noise, although there is some bustle in front of the station at night, but not aggressive. I requested an early check in which was available when I arrived, additionally I could leave my Rucksack during the day after check out. Good breakfast too. I would gladly stay here again.

Everything worked fine for me.

Very central, right across the main train/bus station. Restaurants, supermarkets and tram outside the door. We had a triple room that was very large, airy and had 3 proper beds. Great selection at breakfast! Plenty of choice hot or cold. Great selection of coffees and teas, fresh fruit, vegan options and beautifully buttery scrambled eggs! Lovely friendly staff at reception too!

Because it is so convenient and central it is also a bit noisy. We were there at a hot night and kept the window open for air. Otherwise the windows would have been quite sound proof.

Loved the location across from the train station. Breakfast was very good and served in a lovely room. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. My room at the back was clean and comfortable. and quiet, as per my quiet room request.

The one little thing was that my room looked out onto neighboring apartments and I felt like I was invading their privacy to some extent when they were on their little balcony. But that was a very minor issue!
