The hotel is simply wonderful; I have never encountered such friendly staff—it felt as if we were staying with family. We were accommodated right upon arrival and stayed in a Suite, as we are a family of four. The room was very spacious, consisting of two bedrooms, with roomy and comfortable beds covered in crisp white linens. The room included slippers and robes, with water and coffee always available. The decor was very stylish, and I absolutely loved the design. Everything was quite simple yet done with impeccable taste. The location is excellent—in a quiet area yet close to the train station (a 12-minute walk).

I wouldn’t say there was anything we didn’t like; everything was perfect for us. Perhaps for a longer stay and with more belongings, it would be nice to have a dresser with shelves, as there are no wardrobes. And maybe a mini-fridge as well. You could say these are nice to have.

Good breakfast, with helpful service. Lovely room - we were the first to be in it after renovation so it was very clean and sparkling. Comfortable, clean and quiet. The weather was unseasonably cold (sleet and snow in September!) but we were able to adjust the heating and ac so we were lovely and warm.

The window could have had some sort of blind or net as it was possible for people working opposite to see in. So it meant that we had to keep curtains closed when in the morning when it would have been nice to have natural light. Another very little point: the great new safe for valuables is left open. It is built into the wooden bench/sofa. As the drawer sticks out at shin level it is easy to walk into the open drawer, and the only way to keep it closed is to put in a code. If you don't use it for your valuables, it would be easy to leave the room without entering the code to unlock it.

Beautifully redone little hotel, 5 minutes walking from the Octoberfest, yet still quiet - perfect for a visit. The breakfast was lovingly done, and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Only caveat: if you are very tall ask for a room with a big bed. We had to change rooms because my 196cm husband and I (179cm) could barely fit into the bed. The lobby toilet needed a key that was at the reception. I think that needs to be easily accessible.

Beautiful hotel with extremely friendly staff. Our room was wonderful with every amenity we could need. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very attentive, the owners daughter was working that morning making drinks and we spoke with her for a bit. She was extremely friendly and helpful! We were there for Oktoberfest and you would be hard pressed to find a better location for the festivities! Overall highly recommended and my wife and I look forward to our next stay.

Totally lived up to expectations! Our room was comfortable with plenty of room, fridge, nice bed, big window, and updated bathroom. The vintage building is charming and the location is excellent, just blocks to the subway to access all Munich has to offer...and within sight of the Oktoberfest grounds. Parking is available, but limited and cannot be reserved. The staff were friendly and very helpful!

Our room had a courtyard view, which was more a view to the alley between the back of the property and the business behind. While we weren't in Munich to see the hotel view, there was some noise particularly week nights.

they have NO lift, which is very necessary, especially when your room is at the 4th floor. they should have at least an elevator for the luggage. rooms are slightly colder during nightime

The staff is great and very friendly. The room was clean and everyday they would come to the room and clean it, change towels etc. The building is relatively old and to be honest it could use maybe a little renovation in the rooms, for example painting the walls. The location is not the best feature, it is a bit far from the old town center, about 25 minutes on foot, but there is also a metro station nearby. The breakfast was above expectations. The buffet was great and had a lot of variety. The lady that helps with the buffet service and sometimes is also on the front desk is really kind and helpful, as well as the regular front desk assistant. Overall it is very worthy given the price and I would recommend it!

We really enjoyed our stay at hotel Uhland. It's in a great location, easy to get to the centre and newly renovated. I love the look and style of the hotel. Breakfast was great and with plenty of healthy and tasty choices. Good coffee as well. The highest point of the stay were the hotel employees, everyone was super nice and helpful. Thank you!

Bed for two people could be wider. We couldn't get the aircon to work.

We had a lovely time. There seem to be lots of completely contradictory comments on this site; it probably depends on what room you had (they are all different) and where this was situated. Uhland is a charming hotel, quiet, with lots of atmosphere. Very friendly staff at the reception, always ready with all the little maps, umbrellas etc you might need. Easy walk to the centre, U-Bahn Theresienwiese very close (but do pay attention, it's disguised as a red brick public toilet, you don't see the 'U' sign until you are almost upon it).

We had a lovely large room, but were surprised that at 23:00 there were a lot of heavy lorries at the blood donor service in the street at the back of the hotel; fortunately not every night. The hotel will be renovated soon, some double glazing will no doubt help. And yes, it is true wat everybody says: the breakfast room and separate buffet room are rather cramped. Tip: if the breakfast buffet is out of Earl Grey you can probably find some bags in the small coffee lounge down the corridor.

Staff was exceptional, especially the 2 at the front desk. They were very friendly and accomodating. They remembered our names when they saw us. I'm not sure we have felt so welcome at a hotel before. There were several nice restaurants within easy walking distance. The old Town was about a 25 min walk.

A/C or fans would be nice. It wasn't that warm, but we needed the windows open to cool down the room. Let's just say there is a lot of street noise when you do that. Especially when you go the bed early to get through the first day of jet lag.
