This is a new hotel that is located in the heart of the old town part of Chania. My room was beautifully new and clean, with a comfortable bed and excellent pillows (two soft, two harder). It was very hot, but the air conditioning worked fine. The breakfast came with the room, and was about 30 metres down the street from the hotel. It was a fabulous breakfast: fruit, yogurt, granola, croissants, a big glass of orange juice, tea (or coffee), and a choice of omelet or sandwich. You can sit at a table outside on the street and take in the local atmosphere as you eat breakfast.

There are two things to be aware of. One is that the hotel is two stories high -- I was at the top floor, which required a walk upward of 40 stairs -- fine for me, but if you have trouble walking you should request a room at a lower level. The main possible disadvantage for some would be the start time of 8:30 AM for the breakfast -- this is not convenient for those attending meetings or events that begin not long after 9AM (as was the case for me). I would have loved to linger over breakfast for an hour, but my other commitments didn't allow it. Fortunately the service at the restaurant (Kalderimi) was excellent -- they helped me get a taxi for a 9AM pickup (or even a bit earlier) and even provided a bag so that I could take the parts of the breakfast that I couldn't eat!

Location is very good. Its walking distance to all the old town streets in Chania. If you want to stay in Chania this is the location. Remember there is No elevator on this property. Get ready to walk up and down 1st and 2nd floor. Brand New Facility with New Concept. This place is a brand new family owned hotel with a different concept. This is not your typical hotel. Property manager tries to connect with you on WhatsApp and communicates with you. Reception girl comes in from 11am to 5pm. Highly Recommended: Book room with Breakfast as this hotel owner has his own restaurant which is right opposite the hotel and breakfast is awesome. Breakfast like a King to start your day. Book this place and enjoy your stay im Chania.

Great location in Old Town. Close to restaurants and shops. The same owner owns the restaurant a couple of places down and the breakfast was delicious and included in our room.

The toilet in the shower. Great space saver but inconvenient if you have to use the toilet after someone showers. The whole area is wet and you have to wear flip flops and wipe down the toilet because it’s wet from the shower. We had room number 1 and it’s better for a single person.

It was in the PERFECT location, in the main old town close to all restaurants and coffee shops. Super easy to get to via taxi from the airport and very accessible to the main bus station which takes you all over the island. The room itself is perfectly clean, newly renovated and very big for two people. Couldn’t recommend more. The host was also so kind, stayed to greet us super late and always responded so promptly! Highly recommend.

Nothing it was perfect

Beautiful property. All newly appointed with modern facilities, but situated in the lovely old town of Chania amidst the charm and wonderful ambience of this interesting city. so best of both worlds!

Everything was perfect, would not want to change anything, and we were so well looked after by the owner and his staff, such lovely people. All wanted to make sure we were having a great stay.

Breakfast was excellent, service was very pleasant, friendly and helpful. It was served outside at a lovey pavement restaurant. There was a very good choice of freshly prepared local ingredients. A great start to the day exploring.

I can't fault Casa Modiano. It's a very charming and thoughtfully restored historic building.

We had a great stay at Casa Modiano, it's all new and clean, with a beautiful design. Our room had a balcony with a nice view and side sea view. Breakfast was served at Kalderimi Restaurant and it was delicious. Staff was friendly. We would highly recommend it.

The property was lovely! Recently renovated with all comforts that a guest needs to enjoy their stay. Located in the centre of Chania old town and very close to all landmarks and cafes, bars and restaurants. Although it is very central, it is very quiet with some great places around.

It was very clean, the lovely cleaning lady cleaned the room everyday, she was amazing! Also the lady serving breakfast was so considerate and went out of her way to help. The overall experience was excellent
