Nice staff, nice location, good breakfast.

Some of the bathroom equipment should be renewed.

The Fortuna Boat Hotel was exactly what we were looking for in our off-season stay in Budapest. We had previously stayed in a similar Botel (Boat Hotel) in Prague and enjoyed our stay tremendously. As such this had big shoes to fill in our eyes - but filled them it did. We reserved one of the larger rooms but it was well chosen considering our 5 day stay. The room was spacious and had large windows to see much of Buda and Pest. Especially appreciated were the heaters in the room that provided much needed shelter from the harsh winter winds blowing through the Danube. The style of the cabins and hotel was classically naval and the staff were kind and helpful. The location is close enough to the city centre despite some reviews complaining otherwise, with only a 10 min walk to the nearest bus/tram stop and maybe 25 mins to the city centre. Of particular note was the breakfast - a buffet that had a delicious range of meats, pastries, and drinks available. It should appeal to the tastes of any guests and it was consistently delicious; readying us for the day ahead. It was given in a large room with spacious views of the water.

The one negative, and I do mean the only one, was the bed. It was not a double bed but two singles joined together by a sheet. This means that a couple staying in this room has to choose between either sacrificing one to the hole between the two beds, or sleeping apart. There were also two different covers for each person which seemed more impractical than useful, and each cover was only big enough to cover one person.

Breakfast was reasonably good for what you pay. Views where superb

Nothing. However, if you are not agile, make sure you get a room on first level. Steps are difficult to climb.

The room itself was spacious, featuring a large and comfortable bed, creating a cozy and clean atmosphere. The breakfast options provided were varied and delicious, adding to the positive experience. One notable advantage was the ability to utilize the storage room for the entirety of the day, which was greatly appreciated.

In the mornings, the boiler took an extended period to heat up, resulting in a lack of hot water at times. Additionally, it was disappointing not to be allocated a room with a picturesque view of the city; instead, our view faced a neighboring boat and a daily fishing routine.

Location is really good. Might seem a bit far from everything at first but after a walk around you realised there are quite a few buses and tram that will take you everywhere. Near the boat, if you don't feel like walking, there is the number 2 tram, definitely worth to take it as it stops in all panoramic city attractions. Also, near the tram there is a local chimney cake stand shop, waay cheaper than everywhere else, where it costs 800 HUF, compared to the 2200 HUF everywhere else. Breakfast is very nice. Good selection of pastries, breads, cheese, sausages, pancakes..everything was hot and refilled as it goes low. Beds were comfy and room was warm. Shower is hot and with good pressure. They let us do a later check out as our flight was a bit later in the day

Our room was not clean for the 5 days we stayed there, even though we asked for it on the 2nd day. Not even a change of towels. There is not a fridge in the room, when I asked they told me only superior rooms had one!

Excellent value for money, especially with the generous breakfast buffet included. The location was great - a bit away from the centre of Budapest yet walking distance to almost everything. I also loved the quaintness of the old ship, it felt like stepping back in time. And it was such a treat to sleep on the Danube and to be able to wake up in the mornings, open the curtains and look out over the river. The staff were super friendly and extremely helpful - thank you Gabor, Toni and Co for making my stay so special.

The cabins are quite small, but I was on my own, so for my purposes adequate. You are on a boat after all. The upper deck outside could do with a few more comfortable chairs and a bit of a "facelift - this space does not get utilised at all. Although I loved sitting there at night looking over Margaret Bridge and towards the city centre and the castle, even on the very cold nights.

Excellent location, great variety tasty breakfast, clean, professional and friendly staff - all would make this hotel a 4 star service! (not only 3 star, as official). I absolutelly enjoyed my time, stayed longer than planned originally, and will definitely come back for a visit. If you are a guest and you see a free cabin in tourist season, that means you are indeed lucky - book now!

Waited, waited...however the boat never arrived to Vienna! So the speed of this boat is, well, zero, but apart from this minor imperfection, she is perfect!

The view was lovely. The room very big. The room was clean and smelled good. The tea and coffee making facilities were very much welcome. The breakfast was abundant and very tasty. I would stay there again.

The room was great but a few items could have been better: - The curtains could have been better. No matter how much one tries, they do not cover the windows completely, either from one side or the other.. - When one sits on the toilet, the sink is right in one's space / face. The bathroom setup could have been designed better. - The double bed was comfortable, but made up from 2 single beds.

I had a wonderful experience staying here whilst in Budapest. The views are lovely. The bed is comfortable and it's quiet at night. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The buffet breakfast was good.

Any criticisms are minor. The curtains don't block out all the light so bring an eye mask. It's a moderate walk into the town centre but worth the distance for the experience of staying on the boat hotel.

It's definitely a very nice experience and great value for money. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. The view at the river is perfect. Breakfast is also very nice and the food is tasty. I definitely recommend it.

Parking is right across the street but it's not free. And you can't pay for the whole day. The maximum you can pay is for 3 hours and then you need to renew it and pay again for more hours. Parking machine is right there, you can pay only in Hungarian currency and only with coins. One hour is 600 Ft (approx €1.5)
