Great location. Make sure your booking includes breakfast. Not sure why our reservation didn't include breakfast.. Local Sites: We had one vehicle for 4 people. Three went zipling. If you can DO THIS, it was great fun. One went horseback riding, who dropped the rest of us at the zipline building. Those of us who ziplined took free public bus back into town, for the rider to catch up with us after.

Confirm breakfast is included in the room charge. Others had it, but I'd used booking.com, and not sure if that was why it wasn't included in my reservation. Just verify to cover yourself. Any breakfast included is just easier on the trip.

Hotel KEA exceeded my expectations from the friendly hotel and cleaning staff to the breakfast room and bar. There was opportunity to sit outside ,right in the centre of town, with the drink or food of one's choice and the view of the Akureyri Church on the rise above the hotel was exhilarating. I would definitely stay here again.

The ultra dark doors and fixtures in the bedroom produced a depressing atmosphere and the electrical lighting was inadequate.

Fantastic location, right in/on their downtown and very easy to spot if you are driving. My room had a view of the harbor. The breakfast is a little limited but it gets the job done. The staff are very helpful.

The twin beds are smaller than their American counterparts. The mattresses are adequate: you'll recover from the previous day but not necessarily fully rejuvenated. There is only 1 elevator which can be a bit of an issue when it gets busy.

Breakfast was not included, but easy enough to add on. Very pleasant breakfast room and nice selection of food. Location was perfect - right in the middle of town and easy walking to lovely shops and the waterfront.

The company we booked with did not forward our request for twin beds to the hotel. The accommodating staff immediately offered to rectify the ommission.

Great location in the heart of town. The staff was friendly and professional. Parking around the hotel is all pay but there are some areas close by tied to apartments that are free. They kindly pointed on a map to where they are.

The breakfast buffet was OK but a little sparse. Felt more like a US Inn vs a European hotel.

the hallway carpets smelled stale and looked old. the buildings were so large and it was a great distance to get anywhere with lots of twists and turns with level changes. for someone with a bad knee it was quite tiring and fairly inaccessible.

Location was in the heart of Akureyri - either walkable or drivable to all of the nearby hot spots. Breakfast was good and offered a variety of options to eat (typical English breakfast).

The rooms were not completely soundproof - you could hear doors slamming and some traffic from the outside.

Very centrally located, this made a great base during our stay in Akureyri. It was also very well priced compared to other places of a similar level troughout Iceland. Breakfast was good and the room was very clean. While the hotel has it's own restaurant, we decided to eat out on that day and were pleased with the number of restaurants close to the hotel.

It wasn't easy to find parking very close to the hotel which might be a nuisance if you are travelling with heavy luggages. However when not carrying luggages the short walk wasn't an issue at all.

The restaurants in the hotel were very good, as was the breakfast. The location was first class, very central.

The room was small and the furniture rather well worn. Only one chair and one radiator didn't work.

The staff were lovely, and the room was clean and comfortable. Just across the street there was a restaurant and a bookstore/cafe that made it easy to get dinner and relax. In the morning we walked about a block to a a bakery for breakfast.
