We got lucky and had a larger than average room which made our stay more enjoyable. I think it may have been an accessible room as it had folding shower doors. The bed was comfortable and everything was new and clean. It was in the main building, one floor up. We could easily walk around the peninsula and to the local restaurants and the town pool. We did not borrow the bicycles but that was a nice touch. We thought breakfast was excellent value with many different cheeses, freshly cooked items like bacon and scrambled eggs and even different flavours of skyr. Lots of fruit and good coffee. You could ask for a small box for an extra charge and make a lunchbox too which is a lovely idea.

We actually stayed in an annex building to the hotel, as opposed to the hotel itself. (I think there were a couple of large tour groups staying in the hotel.) The annex rooms were bright and typical in size for Iceland. Everything was impeccably clean and the beds were comfortable. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant the first night and it was good (although the langoustine soup needed more langoustine) and we also chose to have breakfast there -- great breakfast buffet. The woman working the front desk when we arrived was very friendly and helpful. We loved Hofn, and took a wonderful walk all along the waterfront.

I recently stayed at Hotel Hofn during a trip to Iceland and was very impressed with the hotel. The location is absolutely stunning, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing us with lots of useful information about the area and things to do. The breakfast was also excellent, with a great selection of hot and cold items to choose from. Overall, I would highly recommend Hotel Hofn to anyone visiting the area. The location, staff, and amenities are all excellent, and the restaurant is definitely worth checking out. I hope to return to Hotel Hofn someday soon.

The bathrooms are very small and not really comfortable. Had an issue with our shower temperature adjustment

I was fortunate to have a free room upgrade through booking.com. My room was massive! I was originally supposed to be staying in my rented campervan, but the local campsite was closed and the weather forecast was for rain. I'm sorry I never got the lady's name on the front desk, but she was amazing! Really lovely and engaging. Recommended that I go to the local pool for a soak in their hot tubs. Best advice ever! Great selection for breakfast

Nothing. However, if you're mobility impaired, this may not be the hotel for you - there are no elevators. It would be worth checking with the hotel prior to booking how they could facilitate you if this is an issue.

The location of place was great The staff were nice The biggest I liked about the place is the safety I just found out I lost my credit card outside of the hotel and the staff saw it and they kept with them till reached them I mean that a place where you want to be it represent the hotel it represents the staff and represent Iceland well done !

The room bit small and there are no elevator and my room was in the third floor with heavy bags to carry can’t imagine for the elderly and handicapped

We loved this location on the southeast coast. The staff were incredibly friendly and when we asked about seeing the northern lights, they offered to make a wake-up call if there's a sighting. We got two notices of the sightings and when we went out to see the lights, they were amazing! Walk your way down to the water to get beyond the ambient light pollution and you'll hopefully get a good view during your stay as well. The buffet style breakfast was great here and included a gluten free bread option. The grocery store, Netto, was just around the corner (a 10 minute walk, 2 minute drive). There was a cute crafts store across the street from Netto too.

The dinner menu is expensive, however, that is to be expected given that restaurants/food are generally pricey in Iceland.

Great location! The Yellow buildings across the street from Godafoss waterfall. This property is just completing renovation and is the only hotel or guesthouse in the area. The decor is new and well done. The manager, Sigga Dora was a wonderful hostess and took care of everything. The chef and restaurant were fantastic, the food was delicious! the staff Diana and Sasha were exceptional!

Parts of the property are still under renovation but this will only make the property better for future guests.

The hotel was very nice, comfortable and also good located. The in-house restaurant is very recommendable. Very good food. The staff is helpful, resourceful and friendly. We felt really good here.

It seems the breakfast of all hotels in Iceland is managed by only one company. So if you travel around you have always the same choices in front of you which doesnt give you a local food feeling: bread, tuna (salad in some hotels), baked beans, tomato, cucumber, cheese, bacon, fruits, yoghurt and cereals. What we would have expected was a bit more fishy choices, local food? But this is all we could mention here as the rest was perfect.

The hotel was a good value, reasonably priced and the breakfast was included! Location is really nice, right at the beginning of the town, making it a great place to stop when doing the route 1 loop. Rooms are clean and quiet, very comfortable. Parking is free is available! Lot's of free spaces.

WiFi was not good enough to play from a streaming platform, but otherwise it was all good :)

Breakfast was great. We were also able to fill our flask with coffee prior to leaving. Evening meal was delicious and restaurant staff were lovely and very friendly & helpful. Reception were very helpful with planning our trip & reviewing the weather conditions with us for our onward journey to Seydisfjordur; also very helpful telling us when the Northern Lights could be visible and we had a great viewing - magical. Thank you so much :)
