Very close to the city, nice walk towards it, with all the right shops on the way. It's also very quite and you have bus stop 12 in front which is where the majority of activities, drop-off and pickups happen! Very clean and comfortable! Everyone is super nice and they work a lot!

Breakfast area too small for the amount of people that can book rooms at the hotel, if you have to get breakfast early between 7-9 there's nowhere to sit and queue. After that it's fine. One window doesn't have good enough curtains to block the light so if it's summer time, it's still very bright inside the room.

We had the best time at Storm Hotel, it was perfect for what we wanted. There's a bus stop just in front of the hotel where all the tours around Iceland stop, including the ones to the northern lights and the airport, so we couldn't be happier. The hotel is also just a 5-10 minute walk to the city center, so it's also perfect to visit the city. The room had everything we needed for a lovely stay. Iceland is amazing and we want to be back as soon as possible and whenever we come back, we will stay at Storm Hotel.

We couldn't control the temperature in the room and although it was not cold at all, on some of the days we would prefer the temperature to be a little bit higher. The fire alarm went on twice at 7:30 am while we were sleeping on one of the days, which was unpleasant, but obviously was not the hotel's fault and it's better to be safe than sorry.

Hotel was clean and quiet. Staff was friendly and attentive. Bus stop was right across the street which was convenient.

Nothing, everything was great!

The staff at Storm Hotel were very kind. We actually didn't get to stay here because our flight was canceled due to bad weather and we ended up stuck in an airport for two days. We only arrived in Reykjavik on the day of checkout. The hotel manager kindly allowed us to check into our room for a couple of hours to freshen up even though we didn't get there until after checkout time. It was much appreciated because we were commencing a drive around the ring road and had already spent an exhausting couple of days stuck in a US airport. The hotel is conveniently located, and we were able to walk around and grab lunch at an excellent little cafe around the corner before starting our road trip.

Storm has a wonderful breakfast. All sorts of yummy, healthy choices. The best out of all the hotels we stayed in. The room was clean, beds very comfortable. No tissues or toiletries, and very little hanging space for clothes etc in the bathroom. We used the toilet seat a lot, as the floor was the only alternative. This however, is typical of most of the 3 star hotels that we stayed in, in Iceland.

Great hotel and compared to other hotels I researched before booking, I thought it good value for money. Breakfast was fairly basic but more than ample and there was plenty of food available. The hotel and the room was very clean and modern. Reception staff were helpful, especially when trying to arrange our return back to the airport. Perhaps the best thing was just how close bus stop 12 is! With all the trips we had booked plus the airport transfers, it was really convenient to have the stop literally on the door step! All the trips we went on had the option of being collected or dropped off there. It also appeared to be the bus stop that was first on the pick up list for our tour buses (meaning we didn’t have to wait long at all in -15C for the bus to arrive during the half an hour time frame they ask you to wait). For our three trips, bus stop 12 was also the first drop off point so we didn’t have to sit on the bus going to all the other drop off points after the tours had finished. Photo I’ve included shows where the bus stop is and the front of the hotel. There are plenty of eateries near by, which you can get to on foot.

The only thing I would say, which didn’t spoil things I should add, was the room we had was a little on the small side and had no storage/wardrobe, just a hook that took five hangers. With all our winter gear we had, we had to live out of our suitcases. This set up certainly wouldn’t stop me from booking again though. I’d also advise you take appropriate footwear in the winter! The pavement outside the hotel (like many of the pavements in the city) was covered in 3 inches of solid ice (I’ve included a photo) so was exceptionally slippery. That’s just typical of Iceland though - nothing to do with the hotel!

Quiet location in the city within walking distance of the downtown and coastline. Fly bus stop was directly outside of hotel for easy connection to tourist attractions and the airport. Excellent Icelandic themed breakfast each morning. Staff took pride in keeping this newer hotel in grand opening day condition every day.

Had to pay 30 euros for early check in. Our flight had us arrive at 11:30 am, and would have avoided the charge if we could have waited until 1 pm. But we were so tired from traveling that we grudgingly paid it.

Nice modern building, spacious room for one person (I was given a room with two singles—might have been a bit tight for two people though). For me, walking distance from Harpa, City Hall, Parliament, also not far from Laugavegur. Others may need transportation. But the most important: helpful staff! A BIG shoutout to the two people who were at the front desk on 15 July 2024. It’s a long story, but if not for them, I would have missed the bus to the airport and would have had to wait an hour for the next one. They were FANTASTIC!! I will be forever grateful (though I was so frazzled that I didn’t catch their names). They went above and beyond and deserve recognition.

Was perfect to use as a base as we didn’t spend much time in the room apart from to sleep and get ready! Breakfast consisted of pastries, cereal, toast, a couple of cheeses/ham etc (also had milk alternatives which was great!) A cooked breakfast would have been nice as you definitely need to keep your energy up but you get what you pay for! Room was super clean and tidy, perfect again for us as a couple who didn’t spend too much time there. Enough space

As shown on the maps the hotel is a little out of main Reykjavik. It took us around 15 minutes which wasn’t bad at all! But if you went on any of the night boat trips it was a little far to walk back in the dark and cold so would recommend booking any taxi service ran by the trip companies!

The staff was amazing! I loved the fact that I could book tours and airport shuttles at the front desk. Shuttles picked up from the hotel and there is a bus stop across the street that picked me up to go to the Blue Lagoon…such a great location. Breakfast was delightful, and there was enough staff to support the volume of people who ate breakfast each morning.

Only the weather ;) This has nothing to do with The hotel, but I wish I had known this piece of information. When you book a tour, you are picked up from the hotel then taken to a bus station where you change to another bus. Not a big deal, but it was confusing the first time it happened. The airport shuttle does this as well.
