Great hotel and compared to other hotels I researched before booking, I thought it good value for money. Breakfast was fairly basic but more than ample and there was plenty of food available. The hotel and the room was very clean and modern. Reception staff were helpful, especially when trying to arrange our return back to the airport. Perhaps the best thing was just how close bus stop 12 is! With all the trips we had booked plus the airport transfers, it was really convenient to have the stop literally on the door step! All the trips we went on had the option of being collected or dropped off there. It also appeared to be the bus stop that was first on the pick up list for our tour buses (meaning we didn’t have to wait long at all in -15C for the bus to arrive during the half an hour time frame they ask you to wait). For our three trips, bus stop 12 was also the first drop off point so we didn’t have to sit on the bus going to all the other drop off points after the tours had finished. Photo I’ve included shows where the bus stop is and the front of the hotel. There are plenty of eateries near by, which you can get to on foot.

The only thing I would say, which didn’t spoil things I should add, was the room we had was a little on the small side and had no storage/wardrobe, just a hook that took five hangers. With all our winter gear we had, we had to live out of our suitcases. This set up certainly wouldn’t stop me from booking again though. I’d also advise you take appropriate footwear in the winter! The pavement outside the hotel (like many of the pavements in the city) was covered in 3 inches of solid ice (I’ve included a photo) so was exceptionally slippery. That’s just typical of Iceland though - nothing to do with the hotel!

Staff were friendly and efficient, especially when I arrived at the hotel with the wrong suitcase; and they helped me with online check-in for my return flight; they were excellent. My room and bathroom were very tidy and spotlessly clean. I also liked the provision of coffee and Icelandic doughnuts for travellers departing before breakfast; I didn't have coffee but I ate a doughnut. Breakfast was very good.

My only minor quibble is that the space between the end of the bed and the shelf in front of it (the shelf being the desk for the room) wasn't wide enough for me to pull out the chair and sit there. But that was OK for me as I wasn't there to do any work!

We arrived at the Storm from the airport around 2am and the check in was open with a warm welcome from the staff. We stayed 2 nights before starting our tour around Iceland. It is in quite a good location to explore Reykjavic, but with a bit of a walk to the old centre. The breakfast was good, with some hot options. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff very helpful and professional.

As I said, a little out of the centre in quiet a area. Quite expensive for what you get, but probably normal for Reykjavik! The breakfast area is a little small and crowded.

All staff we met - reception, breakfast, cleaners - all were super nice and helpful. We checked out before 4am to catch our flight which meant we couldn’t have breakfast and at the time of checking out we were pointed to the table where coffee and warm croissants were waiting for us - that was so kind. The hotel is environmentally friendly. Location - close to the city center and just next to the bus stop 12 - one of the pick up points for the tours and for the airport transfer. If we get back to Reykjavik, we will get back to this hotel.

There was nothing to complain about!

Convenient location for tour bus pickup and to walk to Main Street. Small lobby. Staff was helpful, accommodated our early arrival. Breakfast was plentiful, typical continental breakfast. Breakfast Staff was attentive to refill food. Rooms are small, has radiator to dry off shoes and clothes.

No toiletries such as lotion, hair conditioner, or toothbrush were provided and were not available for guests, only soap was provided in the bathroom

Breakfast was extraordinary. Fresh vegetables, fruits and bakeries each morning. Not any plate were empty, they were quickly refilled. The staff were always kind and helpful. The location couldn't be better, there was the bus stop #12 right in front of the hotel which is a common pick-up place for various tours. We pretty much loved the scent of the shower gel/shampoo.

The door of our room might need some repair because sinply closing in wouldn't lock it. We had to pull/push a bit harder for the lock to activate. Also some body lotion would be really nice to be placed inside the rooms.

Very clean and contemporary style hotel. Brilliant breakfast and staff. Very quiet, no street noise and very comfortable beds. In an area that has restaurants and shops but you do need to walk 15-20 minutes to city centre attractions. The area around the hotel is undergoing refurbishment (not disturbing your stay) so I imagine soon it will have a lovely pedestrian area.

The room is smallish but didn't affect our stay. I think most rooms are small in Reykjavik. The only thing that would be nice would be a fridge in the room.

My son and I had adjacent rooms on the 3rd floor and were both very comfortable. The rooms were quiet and super warm (the heating easily controlled on the radiators if we got too warm). The hotel is conveniently located about a 20 minute walk from the city centre and the no. 12 bus stop right is right outside (this is where many of the tours begin and is a main stop for airport drop off). Breakfast was really good - a lot of choice (including delicious scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit, yoghurt, cold meats, pastries etc), and well topped up no matter what time we had it. Covid precautions were good - the hotel was spotless throughout, staff and guests wore masks at all times and breakfast was booked in slots to avoid overcrowding. The staff were always friendly and allowed us to leave our bags on the last day between checking out and getting the airport transfer.

It would have been nice to have UHT milk sachets to use with the tea/coffee facilities in room. However, a small carton of fresh milk that I bought in a local supermarket did last me a couple of days when kept on window sill behind the curtain!!

The location was good for the shopping street (plenty of places to eat & drink) & the bus stop 12 for pick up / drop off for tours & airport transfers was right outside The staff were very good & helpful, the bed was comfortable & breakfast choice good - there was porridge / cereals, fruit/yoghurt, toast, selection of breads/rolls, cooked meats, cheese, pastries....

The space around the bed was quite tight at the foot of the bed & on one side, so had to take it in turns getting round the bed & accessing the bathroom. There was no drawer space (cupboard), only powder cream for hot drinks which was not so nice for tea.

Friendly staff (The staff at their sister branch Skuggi hotel was also wonderful) They always had a tchat with me, which I found really nice. The first double room I booked was too noisy due to the wind, I asked to change, while they were super busy in December, they accepted to do it. The location, in front of the stop 12 is perfect for the excursions. Nice double rooms, well equipped with tea and kettle and super clean. Would definitely recommend this hotel

I don't understand the principal of having a shower without door.. it turns the whole bathroom into a swimming pool. The first room I had didn't have a head shower. the doors of the rooms dont close normally so we have to bang them, which is extremely noisy. The choice of international channels is a bit poor, with no French channels while clearly I heard many French in the hotel.
