We stayed here twice - before and then after a multi-day trip. Great location - right round the corner from bus stop #9 Snorrabraut for tour/airport bus pick ups. Surrounded by restaurants and only a short walk from supermarkets - Clean and warm - the central heating was very much appreciated due to the exceptionally cold weather (by our standards!) when visiting Reykjavik. Plenty of clean towels and comfortable beds. - Wifi was very good in our pre-trip room when we were on the 2nd floor. However, it kept on cutting out post-trip when we were on the 3rd floor. Note: The Wifi password is posted up in the hallway outside the rooms - A little street noise from outside (as rooms overlook a crossroads), but not enough to disturb our sleep - Secure entry using room key. The hotel is on 2 floors above a cafe and gift shop, and has its own separate entrance up a couple of steps - There is an small lift/elevator, but we found it easier to go up and down the stairs - Reception is not staffed continuously. There was someone waiting to check us in for our first visit when we were coming straight from the airport and handed us our room key card. The second time we had to buzz to be let in, and then within a couple of minutes someone came from another building to check us in. That time, the room key card had been left in our room (as per their check in process for arrivals after 18.00). To check out, you just leave the key card on the desk - Very reasonable room rates - especially as you probably won't spend too much time in your room, given all that Reykjavik and Iceland has to offer. Perfect for coming back after a day's exploring to sleep. Tip: If there are any restaurants you particularly want to visit, do make reservations in advance to avoid disappointment. We had to make alternative plans when a couple of places we'd earmarked were completely booked up for dinner the whole time we were there.

Although there was a kettle and cups, there were no tea bags or coffee available. So bring your own if you'd like to make yourself any hot drinks. - We knew from other reviews that the bathroom floor could get a bit wet, as it's essentially a wetroom. So you'll need to make use of the supplied squeegee to mop this after a shower. A bath mat would have been great to stand on, especially for the area in front of the toilet

Cleaning is ok, I mean after sleeping in camper 5 days u can sleep inside every hotel for one night. Location is really good it's on top of most famous street. And value for money is totally ok I'd u compare to other hotels

Entrance to the building is really weird. There is some Chinese restaurant/coffee or whatever restaurant, with really funny reception and to be honest I was even a little bit scare somehow doesn't look like hotel at all. It's possible to left your bags in some space (it's really weird space again) but real issue is that check in is from 3PM. I mean people, from 3 PM? It's best that we don't stay at hotel at all and just pay u.

Hotel is in a great place for day trip departures - bus stops 9 and 10 are at the same intersection this hotel is at. Unfortunately you’ll still have to stand at the stop because you can’t see them from the lobby. The price is on a hostel level so if you want to pay as if you’d stay in a hostel - but for your own room with your own bathroom - it’s the perfect choice. I had hot water, kettle in the room and heating all day which was brilliant after returning from aurora hunting. Towels were changed daily, which I also appreciated. It’s a handy, cheap place to stay at if you’re not picky.

The window couldn’t be closed fully - I assume that’s a safety precaution - and my room was directly above the intersection, which made the nights pretty loud. There was age-old dirt in the room - strange splashes on the lamp, lumps of dust on the window, I had to wash off a few hair strands from the shower stall (different lenght and color too, as I was in single room, it probably wasn’t done in a very long time). There was noone at the reception desk during opening hours, I think I saw someone there only once through the week I stayed there. But the personel was close by and arrived a few minutes after being called, which is not so bad.

It’s in a great location. Very close to Bus stop 9. The street the hotel is on is the main shopping street with a lot of shops, restaurants and supermarkets. Extremely easy to go to and from Airport by Airport transfer bus even with a lot of luggage because the bus stop very close (please keep in mind, there’s a transfer involved. From the airport you are driven to the common bus stop (BSI) and from there, another smaller bus takes you to the respective bus stops, in this case, it’s bus stop 9. This kind of bus transfer is common in Iceland even for day tours. It’s mainly because big buses have a tough time turning - the roads are quite narrow). This is the only hotel I could find which offered a private bathroom and the price was reasonable (by Icelandic standards anyway). True, the bathroom wasn’t very fancy and whole bathroom floor does get wet when you shower. But I was the only one using it, and it was wiped dry and cleaned everyday, so I was more than ok. The towels were changed everyday too. The room was quite small and again, you get what you pay for. For just me, it was ok. Wasn’t particularly noisy. The heater worked. There’s a small storage shelf - it’s not a lot but at least you can hang your jackets. The man at the reception was very helpful to me. He wasn’t there all the time, but this hotel is one of the few ones that were quite responsive on booking.com messenger. If you can agree on your check-in time beforehand, things should go smoothly. He gave me a lot of useful tips too. Sure, it’s not a brand new hotel, but everything worked well (the shower, taps, heater, kettle etc), so I’m not going to complain that things were old and ask them to renovate. In short, it’s not a fancy hotel, but my major criteria were private bathroom, clean room in a good neighbourhood and those were more than met by the this hotel. I thought they had quite few (unfairly in my opinion) bad reviews and I thought I’d clarify a few things based on my experience.

A couple of improvements would be nice - A simple bath mat right outside the bathroom will be very useful. And a luggage rack/stand to keep the suitcase on will be very useful too.

The hotel is located within the city centre and only a few minutes walk from the bay, and most of the main attractions within the city. The lady that met me at check in was friendly, and the room itself was fairly large. The bed was comfortable, and the bed was comfortable enough. Soundproofing is (mostly) good between rooms, and I couldn't really hear anything from anyone else. Also, as a Brit, it was great that the TV received UK TV channels, so I was able to watch stuff from back home.

Unfortunately, the windows didn't fully close (as soon as you latch it, it loosens slightly), meaning that you can hear the traffic and people outside, which means getting a good night's sleep is fully dependent on that. Also, the room, whilst clean in general, had several hairs from previous guests.

Exceptional location. Reasonable size room which appeared not only naturally warm but also very comfy. The room was cleaned each day (which wasn't expected as we've been use to only 1 room change during a break, if any at all. Thank you very much). Fresh towels, a hair dryer, English TV channels and kettle all provided and although over looking the main road we heard no traffic. Also free WiFi throughout the hotel. There is stairs and a lift provided at the premises and a key card for use on the main door and room door which made it easy to come and go as you please day or night.

There was no tea or coffee to compliment the kettle and never anyone at reception to meet and greet. However they were always on hand by phone and intercom should we had needed them. Therefore this was not a major issue for us.

We stayed at this hotel for a night before starting our trip around Iceland. Good enough for a night, not sure for more than one. The room has a kettle, but it would've been nice to have a little fridge as well. Good location, with shops and supermarkets near it, so you can stock yourself before starting the trip.

The shower didn't have a physical barrier with the rest of the bathroom (apart from a curtain) so water gets all over the floor and it might be bothersome. However, it is not the first Nordic hotel where I saw this, so it might be quite common actually.

Very central and walkable location to downtown. We also enjoyed the bubble tea restaurant located on the main floor of the hotel. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

When we arrived at 7:30am after informing the hotel of our arrival time, and having asked ahead of time if we could store our backpacks at the front desk until our room was ready, we were told via the door intercom that it was too early and that staff would not be in until 9am. So, we walked around for 2 hours with our backpacks.

Did you backpack through Europe in the late 20th century? If so, 100 Iceland Hotel will feel nostalgic, like your favorite hostel or two-star hotel. The beds are comfy with polyfill duvets; there's an electric hob, and the in-room bathroom is all you need. The price is exceptional for the convenient locale with parking down the street and many inexpensive (for Reykjavik) restaurants. Bonus: Bubble tea cafe in the lobby. I'd definitely stay again if I return to Iceland.

The bathroom could use a towel ring near the sink and a towel hook near the shower. That's it!

Both me and my brother liked the stay. Nice staff at the reception that even let us check in a bit earlier. Check out was easy as well, just had to drop the key at the reception. Reception isn’t there all day long but that’s wasn’t an issue at all. They have organized everything for their guests. There is also a nice bubble tea bar within the hotel that is open for a few hours within the day and serves some nice drinks. I definitely recommend this hotel as it’s central and convenient. Also a car park with cheap prices literally next door is available.

All great, thank you :)
