Good location. Central to Churchgate area of Mumbai and 100inr taxi ride from Gateway of India. View over the Back Bay. Can see the sunset from balcony on 4th floor. Very authentic Mumbai experience in terms of the cacophony that is the traffic of Mumbai and the cars beeping. I used earplugs at nightBank and restaurant next door, pharmacy round the corner. About one hour taxi ride from airport which cost me 1300inr.

Only luke warm water for shower (I'm into cold therapy so made it work) and no scraper to remove water from floor after shower. Floor is slippery when wet. Be careful.

All of the staff are very courteous and supportive. Great location, The old-world charm of the place gave a distinct experience. Cleanliness is maintained. The Coffee shop in the premises of the hotel is a great plus. Overall, I had a very positive experience, and will consider staying here again.

Some of the furniture and fittings are very old. The washroom needs to be modified well as I could hear people outside in the passage from the washroom, which is very strange. . More variety needed in breakfast.

I stayed there with my husband and my son. We booked the ‘queen’s necklace’ suite. The views were amazing particularly during sunrise, sunset and night time. It was close to Gateway of India. Marine drive location is the best for staying in Mumbai and for enjoying the city.,

The hotel needs updating as systems in bathroom are old. Lots of water on bathroom floor and risk of slipping and falling was high. The floor of bathroom was very high level as compared to the room and my husband had a fall as he has limited mobility.

The hotel is located on Marine Drive with clear views of the Arabian Sea from the front facing rooms. It is Mumbai's best location. The rooms are big and the ambience is quiet. Many key tourist attractions are within 2-4 kms. Breakfast is free but with limited choices. Absence of dining room means lunch and dinner have to be either ordered from an outside restaurant or had in other restaurants. Staff are helpful and you get 2 morning papers every day

The bathrooms need a makeover with more modern facilities. The single beds in my Queen's Necklace suite were narrow

The location was superb and the view of the sea from our balcony a real treat. The long established hotel (I stayed there first 40 years ago) is professionally and friendly run. A special atmosphere. The staff looking after our room and breakfast were extremely thoughtful and friendly! Chapeau to them!

The room had just been refurbished and the shower did not work very well.

Breakfast was good, if basic. Front desk was professional. Attending porters & bellmen were available but not intrusive. Great location, if a bit noisy with big street out front, but hey that's India. Great view of the Arabian Sea.

AC was a little noisy. Other than that, no complaints.

The view is amazing - over the sea and marine drive. The bathroom was new and very clean and the room was very spacious with a high ceiling.

The water pressure in the shower is a bit weak.

- This is a great place for people staying in Marine Drive. It's near the cricket stadiums, Colaba, Churchgate which were all great fun to explore. - The view from the partial seaview faces the cricket stadium. Pay the extra money and get a full sea view. - The staff cleaning the rooms were all brilliant.

- The blokes on reception have the personality and politeness of a tea bag; which I found hilarious. Not very keen to help any guest.

Great location to explore South Bombay and people who love walking on a bayside walkway. Staff was great and rooms were big and clean. Really close to great performance venues, attractions and restaurants.

Extra bed was an old pull out couch, although comfy it could be better to have a proper mattress instead

The location of the property is the reason why I always stay at this hotel. If you don’t mind staying in a hotel where you get basic amenities with limited breakfast menu (omelette toast, cornflakes and poha), this hotel is a good idea.

The property is an old building that need a major renovation work. Need to improve with adding some breakfast menu.
