Staying in the Bungalow was great, an oasis of calm and peace in Sanur. It was so relaxing! It is possible to use a fully equipped kitchen and Mario bakes a delicious bread which can be purchased on site. The accommodation is just a short drive from Sanur beach; easily reachable by Motortaxi. The bungalow was perfect for our family of 4. Thanks Mario!

It is not easy to walk to the beach. The traffic is crazy and there is barely any sidewalk. We initially had considered taking bikes which are available at the accommodation, but quickly dismissed it when we saw the traffic situation. We feel that it was still worth staying somewhat outside of where the action is and all the resorts are. It had a nice local flavour that we appreciated a lot...

The pool in the middle of the garden is great, and the kids enjoyed playing in it and cooling off. The host decorated it really well. The host is super friendly and suggests things to do while in Sanur. The garden is very pretty. We had access to a well equipped kitchen with a fridge we could use. The property is very secure and is quite secluded but has good access to restaurants, supermarket and the beach is not too far to walk.

Away from the hustle and bustle of commercialised parts of Sanur Villa Shantitata Bungalows is a place to relax and inhale the energy of nature. A large, beautiful pool at the compound's centre is surrounded by tropical greenery with bungalows and little secluded dining and resting areas. There is a fish pond and two rabbits and birds busily making nests and chirping in the trees. From our porch, we see kids, some frolicking in the pool, others swinging on a little swing next to it while adults keep an eye on them, sitting on a sizeable swinging couch. Paradise for travellers of all ages! We, Australian seniors, are staying for two weeks.

Shantitara is beautiful, peaceful, full of greenery with 2 bunny rabbits, fishes, turtle, lovely swimming pool, great host MARIO 🏆 (he is such a helpful and great gentleman - always helpful). Spacious room with outdoor bathroom. Outdoor kitchen if you wish to cook your own basic food. Walking distance to supermarket, restaurant *Afterwork*, cafe, small fruit market, massage parlour. Mario serves breakfast and fresh homemade bread (extra charge). Shantitara is like a small piece of heaven away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded streets ❤️

This place is just love ❤️ Our seventh hotel in Bali, everything is simply divine. A place where you want to dream. Wherever you look, there’s meaning in every detail, and every detail is beautiful. A huge pool with mirrored accents, shells at the bottom. Swings, rabbits on the territory, a turtle, very beautiful pigeons, fish. The bungalow has a lot of space, the bed is very comfortable. The host made breakfast for us and it was really good. He also helped with organizing surf lessons for my son. There are free bikes that are very useful. The beach is a 8 minutes drive. The massage was also really good. There is a kitchen and barbecue. Such a beautiful place, I want to come back again. 🙏 ❤️

We like everything

Fabulous on all levels. A warm greeting from Mario was a perfect start to the stay. The property is a set of older style Balinese rooms which were large, cool and calm. It was extremely quiet and felt very peaceful. Having access to a kitchen as well as trying Mario's home baked sourdough was a joy. I cannot recommend Villa Shantitara highly enough, and although I do live in Sanur now, will be back if I ever need an escape to somewhere quiet and peaceful, and will recommend to visitors. Thanks so much.

Staying at this complex of bungalows was a great experience.We loved the lay out,privacy and intimacy in the same time.Mario put his soul in this place and nothing is too much,done straight away if you have any questions or concerns.So helpful and friendly.Best breakfast,if you like sourdough bread,made in the house by the man himself: delicious!Beds are super comfy,love the style and the pet bunnies are very cute.Thank you so much Mario,for your hospitality,100%🙏🏼🙏🏼

It was perfect🌺

Our friendly host has taken a beautiful piece of paradise and named it Shantitara. The centrepiece of Shantitara is the beautifully constructed pool which is surrounded by tastefully decorated bungalows. The entire estate is permeated by peace, well-being and tranquillity.

If I have to nitpick I’d say the smaller bungalow would be even more perfect with a mosquito net at the back of the bed. Luckily we didn’t see or hear any mozzies. The larger bungalow has a 360 surround mosquito net so in that bungalow this is a non-issue.

We crashed here for 2 nights after a 30-hour trip with our two kids, to „get our feet on the ground“. Villa Shantitara is located in a nice, authentic neighborhood of Sanur. Local life around is buzzling. Tourists are elsewhere. We enjoyed that a lot. Mario is a treasure of experience and will help you with everything, from car to trips to massages. Just ask. He personally makes your breakfast, which is really sweet (pancakes, eggs, home-made bread…). The bungalows are set in a lush garden. Nice little pool and some animals around, which our kids loved. It’s not luxurious, but very lovely and perfect for a short stay.

Not a big issue for us, but: - family bungalow is right next to the common kitchen (so you hear the first until last person walking in and prepping their stuff - no mosquito nets - clean enough, but could be cleaner

We booked one of the villas at Shantitara Bungalows for the last two days of our Bali vacation. We arrived by car and thanks to Mario's (the owner) instructions, we took the correct turns despite the extremely narrow "gangs". There are I think the total of 3 rental villas in the compound, all with a shared central pool - which is beautifully designed and perfect for children. Mario also has his private mini zoo there :), which includes doves, rabbits, fish and a tortoise. We were provided fresh water all the time, it was always available in the central kitchen in the shared fridge. Mario also gave us some tips what to visit in the area, where to eat and shop. The villa was huge, with comfortable beds, AC and a nice and romantic outdoor shower with plants all over. Adjacent there was a small private terrace with a fish pond, where we could enjoy our meals or just a cup of coffee. To sum up: Shantitara Bungalows are totally recommended!
