Position - great for exploring Cork on foot. Style and decor - excellent - some superb works of art/ carpets, etc. Staff generally very friendly, helpful and in tune with the high standard of the hotel (notable exception being the individual in charge of the breakfast room - see below).

Breakfast not included - even for Booking.com "geniuses" Told that if I had booked direct, breakfast would have been included!! No place for us in the restaurant on the evening of our arrival; too tired to go elsewhere so no dinner - just a bar snack. Breakfast room 'manager' not of the same class as the establishment. Toilets near restaurant in bad shape - badly maintained".

Fabulous food (full dinners or bar menu), wine list and cocktails. Worth staying at the hotel for the relaxing evenings at either the Grill or Club rooms. The prices were fantastic for the quality. Staff is terrific. Bonus: I had a very comfortable room that faced the River Lee. I would pull one of the comfortable chairs into the bay that faced the river to do my work. Very lovely.

all minor complaints: 1) no USB chargers in room (I used outlets) 2) no bathrobe 3) no grooming kits in bathroom (earbuds, cotton, etc.) 4) room frig went off - dairy products spoiled 5) gym (direct access from hotel is very heavily geared to men who want cardio and weight-lifting (not a strap or roller in sight) - good pool

The rooms were lovely and very comfortable. I loved the decor and ambience plus the staff were fantastic and very welcoming. The pool was large and clean. Location was just right within easy walking distance of the city centre.

The restaurant was beautiful and the food was good but not amazing. The continental breakfast was great but the cooked breakfast ( full Irish) was definitely lacking. The white/black puddings were small, hard and a little dried up. The poached eggs were solid and the first round of toast was not toasted ( however, the waiter rectified it quickly). The evening meal began perfectly with the delicious starter. The main course of chicken was good but unfortunately the steak was very chewy and difficult to eat, although the taste was good. Overall, the food was a split between good and below par, a mixed rating. The staff were excellent though.

We loved absolutely everything about staying at The River Lee Hotel! Our room was immaculately clean as was the entire property, the location is fantastic, the beds were comfortable and the whole place just felt great. But more than all that, the staff are wonderful here — we didn’t meet a single person who wasn’t kind and helpful. One manager in particular went above and beyond when both my partner and I fell ill the day we arrived at the hotel. He truly took care of us and made us feel safe while far from home and checked in with us throughout our stay. Absolutely above and beyond. We’ll never forget his kindness! We highly recommend the River Lee and we’re looking forward to coming back!

The main facilities of the hotel were very nice. The breakfast was amazing. The restaurant was very fancy and all the staff were very kind. This hotel in general felt like a real treat. The parking garage also worked very well and was a good deal in a city for 10 Euros a night.

The 5th floor could use a refresh. The carpet was patched in the hallways and looked a little run down. The room looked like it could use a refresh as well.

Continental breakfast exceeded expectations with three different GF pastries! Fantastic. Dinner in the bar: food was superbly cooked, some delicious and unusual options eg scrumptious Pont Neuf potatoes, but service was a bit inattentive at times. Room was very comfortable and spacious, and great to get dry cleaning done same day. Loved the glamorous common areas of the hotel and the view of the ever changing River Lee outside the glass walls. Great car park access to hotel.

Didn’t like being asked for my Christian name by wait staff.

Staff were always helpful, perfect location next to the beautiful River Lee. Leisure centre was a perfect addition to the trip, as well as the River club with a great selection of drinks. The room was a brilliant size with a large TV and the bathroom was great with both shower and bath. The bed was so comfortable, I didnt leave my room for half a day! Locals commented on that it was the best hotel in the city and I have to agree completely!

The only problem I had was with the room door on occasions. The key card was a little bit dodgy but that's a minute problem.

The staff were welcoming and friendly, especially in the Terrace Bar. The reception areas were very nicely decorated.

We were told we were ‘lucky’ to have a river facing room as we’d only booked a standard room (and that was not cheap!) but we had no view as the window was completely fogged up! Tried to clear it by opening windows and turning off air conditioning but there was an inch of water between double glazing. The bathroom door kept closing by itself also, so this room definitely needs maintenance!

Wonderful Staff. Made me feel welcome. I traveled alone, but the staff made me feel like part of the "family". I had great conversations with the staff, especially with Iuri who was very nice and very professional.

I booked a non refundable stay via Booking.com. I had to leave early after being assured that I waoulsd not be charged foir the days not spent. After Booking saying it was up to the hotel, and the hotel saying it was up to Booking, I was eventually charged the full amount. Disappointing.

The 5th floor was awesome with the executive lounge was a great bonus. The down stairs bar was well staffed, with really nice bartenders. The gym and the pool was well equipped. All the staff made it a great experience.

Dinner in the restaurant was not up to par for the prices they charge. The breakfast was way over priced. Really 30 Euros for breakfast, we stayed in hotels in the Cork area that had the same menu items for half the price.
