Good location and view from our balcony was lovely over Dublin Bay
Bathroom door was broken at the bottom and made a noise when opening and shutting. Fixed panel over the bath made getting in and out to shower quite difficult

Staff and service very good
Limited room service dinner options and very busy restaurant and bar which felt unsafe. No masks on staff disappointing as trying to stay covid safe Breakfast order was incorrect.

Location was perfect for a visit with my sister and family in Dalkey. The things to do around the hotel kept us busy when it wasn't rainy. This is my second time at the FitzPatrick. The staff was very friendly and more than accommodating on our requests for taxi's, breakfast to go, extra water, etc.
Unfortunately, during these times of finding staff, I was a little disappointed in the coverage of staff for the library bar. Several times when we wanted a drink, there was no bartender available. I understand at the time the bartender was also bring drinks to the MAPAS restaurant. The room itself was really warm at night. Most people want it cool to sleep, so heat wasn't really necessary.

I had been to the hotel many years ago with my family as a child- it has always been a fond memory. My boyfriend and I decided we should visit Killiney for a few days as he had never been to this side of the country. It was beautiful! The location is near the sea and just a 15 minute walk away from the beautiful village of Dalkey. Not only was the location the perfect getaway spot with plenty of surrounding restaurants and bars, but the atmosphere and the staff of the hotel were the most comfortable and welcoming. The food was very enjoyable and the drinks were even better! The staff were consistent in their interests of the guests, the facilities provided were of top tier in terms of accessibility and cleanliness and the rooms were the most comfortable….we were even provided with an electrical fan to help us cool down in the hot weather! Well worth the trip if anyone were to look for a long weekend away to a beautiful location where they can relax, feel valued and retain the experience in memory.
Not much to say in this department…The only problem was we couldn’t stay for longer!

The breakfast, firstly the staff were polite and mannerly, the food itself was excellent and a great variety, a perfect way to start the day. The evening meal had a fantastic comfortable feeling of home and we both enjoyed it really well. Top quality very tasty and enjoyable. We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary just weeks ago and picked this hotel for a get away. Having spoken with John Fitzpatrick at The Kitzpatrick Hotel in Manhattan, who we had the pleasure of having a drink with while staying there, he recommended we look the Killiney Castle up for a special occasion which we have and to say was very pleasant advice. I have to say overall the welcome we received and the welcoming card with the Butler sweets was a very nice touch indeed. Over all we had a very pleasant stay and would and have recommend the Hotel to anyone that wanted quality and value. Your staff are a credit to both themselves and the hotel and thank you for a very special, short maybe, but lovely experience. Pat Morrissey 086 2114981.
everything was very nice and a coffee in the outside dick was relaxing where we meet Robert, a regular we here, and enjoyed his stories about the hotel. Over all excellent as stated above

The rooms with balcony face the sea, with lovely views. Comfortably furnished. Breakfasts are plentiful, with a generous choice. The staff are most obliging, as always. The (locally resident) family has been enjoying coming here for decades. The indoor pool is a welcome addition.
The Castle is much the more welcoming for its traditional air, a refreshing change from modernised characterless hotels. The upper floors are beginning to invite some brightening up, however, especially on the inside that faces the courtyard. (On a previous visit were were disturbed at night by mouse-rustling in the wainscotting. 1st floor, sea view. Not this time.) The restaurant in the basement is very pleasant, as is the menu, yet the décor / lighting here too could be a little more cheerful. (Beware the carpeted step!)

We liked the location, the room and the staff were very friendly and helpful with directions and advice. We have special diets and brought our own breakfast. We would have liked regular coffee, not decaf provided, and cookies every day. The cookies were marvelous but we only got them on 2 days. We also met some lovely guests during our stay. Thank you for the refrigerator added to our room, we had to refrig medication.
We were quite comfortable and happy with the accommodations.

Lovely room, though we had an ocean view room, you could just see the ocean from the side of the balcony. Balcony overlooked the carpark, but we could see the ocean further out. Lovely room & amenities. The breakfast was lovely. Location was close to be able to walk to the restaurants in good weather.
TV didn't have many good options. No herbal teas in the room. The hotels decor needed a bit of maintenance (but after the last few years, can understand why they may have left it)

Great facilities - particularly for families - our family room was so spacious - and very friendly staff. Was brilliant to have access to a pool too. Food was lovely and the surroundings were scenic and pretty with great coast walls nearby. Dalkey is a lovely historic village with lots of lovely cafes and places to eat and its heritage centre had a really entertaining tour with actors in costume where children got to make their own coins at the end - it was really interactive and lots of fun for my 8 year old son. Great fit getting into Dublin on the Dart. Also only a couple of Dart stops away from Greystones (which has great restaurants too).
Dalkey is a commuter town so our plan was to park at the Dart station for about €5 (it’s 5 mins drive away but about 25 mins walk from the hotel - and there’s a big hill which might be a bit much for small feet on the way back after a long day in Dublin) However there were no parking spots in the long term car park next to the station and nowhere else in the vicinity to park for more than 2 hours. Taxis aren’t immediately available at the hotel either so our advice would be to book a taxi well in advance for both journeys with the assistance of the hotel staff.
