We were accommodated here in 2021 and we were very happy here - so we came back. And it was as great as last time - sheets perfect and clean, clean and ready bathroom (new towels and toiletries every day), bathrobe and slippers, water added every day and tea and coffee accessories. Breakfast is chosen from the menu - porridge with fruit and honey, granola with yoghurt and fruit or compoted plums with yoghurt, full irish breakfast, ham, cheese, scrambled eggs with salmon, pancakes with maple syrup, etc. Tea, coffee, milk, toast, butter and jam are commonplace. Everything tasty and of great quality. The owner welcomed us with coffee, tea and homemade biscuits in the living room. If you are in Ireland/Dublin for the first time, you will get lots of information on where to go, how to buy a ticket for public transport (Leap Card) or where to go to a good restaurant in the area, etc.

This location gave us the best of both worlds - the peace and quiet of this exclusive area, but just a short and inexpensive bus or train ride into Dublin City Centre. From this lovely guest house we took short walks to the sea, and into the nearby village of Sandymount, where we enjoyed its handful of pubs and restaurants. The friendliness and the help from the owner really made this the perfect City break for us. We were given lots of information about where to explore and this really enhanced our experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the train rides up and down the coast as well as spending a full day in Dublin City Centre. The amenities at this small hotel were lovely, including luxury bath robes, tea and coffee in the room and in the quiet lounge. We twice ate breakfast, once full Irish and then continental - both were wonderful. When we return to Dublin we hope to stay here again.

No fault with the accommodation, but I would say that the general costs of food, drink and accommodation in Dublin are high.

We loved the proximity to the city with the evening escape from the hustle and bustle. We enjoyed the sitting room at the opportunity to make a quick coffee. Our room was comfortable and spacious with a great shower! The tasty daily breakfast provided options and the friendly breakfast staff catered to requests.

In regards to the room, the pillows were very firm. We also had a drain issue in the bathroom. We also felt the breakfast was too large and overpriced— for US. We’d prefer to put that money on a lunch or dinner instead. After experiencing it the first day, we asked if we could retract our breakfast for the remaining days and told that was not possible.

In a very nice neighborhood a bit out of the city with very easy access to bus and train. Our hosts were lovely, so informative about local restaurants, sights to see and their daughter Simone likewise was welcoming. The lodge itself is in great shape with comfortable beds, great amenities. Don’t miss the breakfast! Hearty enough to stay with you until mid to late afternoon. The tea and coffee with biscuits/cookies were great upon return from day of sightseeing. Walking around Sandymount square gave us a sense of what life is like for the locals, and once there, you’re able to get anything you need and some items you didn’t know you needed. Pat and Anne, thanks so much for a lovely stay-if we return to Dublin, we wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

I cannot recommend Aberdeen Lodge enough! My best friend and I stayed there for 6 nights during our European trip to celebrate completing our Master's degrees and we both agreed that Aberdeen Lodge was one of the main highlights of our trip. If you are looking for a lovely, classic Irish B&B in Dublin, look no further! The staff at Aberdeen Lodge were beyond kind and accommodating. The breakfast was absolutely phenomenal and we felt perfectly at home! The location was perfect with the train and bus just outside the front door giving you access to the city centre in only 20 minutes and the many lovely towns along the coast of Ireland. The rooms were lovely and comfortable.

From the moment we first arrived until we checked out, everything about our visit was perfect. Everything and more all comes together here making the Aberdeen Lodge truly a special and remarkable place to stay. The host, Pat, was so incredibly helpful and accommodating. He gave us valuable suggestions and even made arrangements for us to ensure we had an early breakfast and got to our day tour on time. The location itself is incredibly calm and peaceful, and is close proximity to both the bus and train station, making getting into the city center easy and quick. Can’t wait to visit here again!

There was nothing we didn’t like here. Cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, location and pricing are all at the top of the chart.

The check in was exceptional, the owner sits down with you and explains how to get around Dublin and gives you ideas at places to visit. The staff is exceptional, very friendly and would get done whatever was asked. The location is great, close to DART (light rail) and bus transport and is within 2-3 blocks of the beach. Breakfast was wonderful, it is a true B&B, not just a B. Everyone was friendly. The room is nice, has it's own bath and is comfortable.

The only thing that could have been better was that if I could have stayed there longer.

A lovely home with lovely people. Ann and Pat are most generous, with their spirit and their time. And their staff are terrific, too. Fastidious room with comfortable bed and great shower. My stay was enhanced by two wonderful golden retrievers, Robin and Sandy, providing me with my dog fix while I was away. While I did not take the breakfast, I appreciated having access to coffee and tea in the drawing room.

Aberdeen Lodge is a 19th-century restored home so sounds echoed throughout the home rather easily.

We enjoyed our stay at Aberdeen Lodge in August of this year. The hotel was well situated, just outside the heart of Dublin, with easy access to two different DART stations for transit. Our room was spacious and clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower had excellent water pressure (much appreciated after a long day of travel!). We drove to this property from the airport - there is lots of parking space available. Our host was very helpful with suggestions for running routes, local restaurants, and how to use the DART system to get into the heart of the city. We elected not to have the breakfast due to other commitments, however, the menu looked very tempting! Coffee and tea were available all the time in the drawing room.

no suggestions for improvement

It all started when we pulled up. The outside of building set the tone for the rest of the stay. Very warm and inviting. See photo. We were greeted by one of the owners, Pat, and he gave us the full rundown on transportation and places to eat in the area. There is a bus stop within a few minute walk, which will take you right into downtown Dublin. The breakfast was delicious and was presented beautifully! The rooms were more than adequate for us and comfortable. The lodge is situated in a very nice area of town and at no moment did we feel unsafe. If we ever get back to Dublin, we will definitely stay there again. Worth the money! The pictures are from a fishing village called Howth. Take the DART train and enjoy this quaint authentic village.

Be mindful that it is an older home, so there is no elevator (lift). Which we dreaded going up the stairs as we were super tired from our drive. Other than that, a superb stay!
