The location is very convenient - close to Heuston station, Kilmainham, Guinness, the Museum, Jameson's distillery, Phoenix park, etc., and a short tram ride into the city centre. The breakfast room is comfortable, lovely views and light, and the breakfast service was very well-organized and efficient; there was also a good range of options. The food available in the bar was also excellent, we had a delicious soup upon our arrival. Really hit the spot on a cold December day! Good selection of drinks and a very relaxing atmosphere. The staff were great, professional yet friendly. In general, I felt appreciated while I was there, there's a nice atmosphere to the place. I travel to Dublin about once a year, and I've stayed in many other hotels, this was my first time at the Ashling, and it will be my first choice for future visits.

My only disappointment was the bread at breakfast - I was looking forward to some brown soda bread, but there was only sliced pan.

Excellent service - room was superb - Breakfast was excellent - Staff were very helpful and was extremely nice to our little girl. A lovely child friendly hotel

We were inside in the bar and a elderly gentleman had fallen between the chairs and a table. Only the lady staff went to help him up while the men staff just stood and watched . My husband and our friend actually helped her as she was finding it difficult to help him up . I just thought it was very wrong that the rest of the bar staff just stood watching.

The breakfast was absolutely amazing!! We stayed at multiple hotels in Ireland and would stay here again just for the breakfast. The breakfast staff were also so welcoming. The hotel room shower was fabulous. I loved the shower pressure. There is free validated parking, which is a bonus in the city. We walked to Guinness Storehouse, which was a plus that it was so close.

The AC wouldn't work in our room. We realized this at 2am, when we couldn't sleep. When I mentioned the "error" message for the thermostat to the receptionist in the morning, she only said we could have called to have it fixed, rather than apologizing. We didn't want to call at 2am because it would have woken up the kids. Hopefully she put in maintenance ticket. If the AC works, it will certainly be a 10/10 experience.

I liked the location and the food in the bar was very good and the smoking area. Breakfast was great a lot of choices.

I had to ask for clean towels they didn’t even remove the wet and dirty ones till I asked. Towels were not even left in the room outside the door in a bag. My television wasn’t working a lovely young man came and he fixed the wire. When I requested this at reception I was told oh we don’t show football matches here as they fight pure racist to an Irishwoman me as this was a semi final in GAA yet the match was on in the bar I told her that. It was racist to me and my country.

Loved everything from the reception desk to to leaving. The red curry was the nicest dish I have had in a very long time absolutely so tasty and freshly made. The staff in the hotel were always so helpful and polite. We had a small baby with us and the restaurant staff completely went above and beyond to make us comfortable and catered to us greatly. They even gave us a little welcome gift bag for the baby with crayons colouring pad and organic bath wash and a little treat this was a nice touch and the colours kept her busy after dinner. Bedroom was lovely and comfortable cannot fault it. Fresh water stations on every level with ice. Hotel itself is in a very handy location just 2 mins from train station and 10 mins walk from the zoo. We will definitely be returning. Well done all in ashling hotel fabulous staff.

Only thing was there was no YouTube on the TV. Otherwise cannot fault the place.

The Ashling hotel was lovely, staff were really friendly and helpful. Our only issues were the room was really hot (25c)through the first night, but there was a cleaner outside our room the next day so he showed us how to turn the air con on and get it to a much cooler temperature, and the other issue we had was that the pillows were really hard and after 3 nights, we were all complaining of stiff necks. But they are only minor little things and we were only there for 2 nights. We all said we.would stay there again, the location was ideal for us, the airport coach dropped us off across the road from the hotel at Heuston Station, which ideally is also where the tram is to whizz you into the centre (€2 each), and we had tickets for the zoo, which was just a 15.minute walk from the hotel. Overall a fab stay, highly recommend, and would definitely book here again if we were to return.

The pillows were very hard and the room was too hot for us.

The hotel was fabulous in an a brilliant location. The only thing I would say and this applies to all hotel is that I think that a disabled toilet should be provided in every room as standard. Then everyone could use it without having the need for prebooking. I needed it for my daughter who has reduced mobility but doesn't use a wheelchair. The toilet in the room would have been OK if only it had the side rails. Otherwise the hotel was super in a brilliant location and breakfast was fabulous.

The toilet lacked side rails for people with mobility issues. Otherwise everything was brilliant.

We loved the exceptional cleanliness of our room and the fantastic staff, who always seemed nearby when we couldn't figure out how to use the room key to work the lights, or how to recycle our trash, or how to open the security door - all while being unobtrusive. The restaurant menu was likewise terrific, beautifully presented, and the desk clerks were SO helpful with directions to O'Connell Street/GPO and instructions on how to load and use our Leap card so we could take the Luas tram. The Hotel is so conveniently located to everything - especially, Cobblestones. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays, too.

Not a single thing .

I liked the large comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful. I had an accident when I arrived and a staff member went out of their way to make me comfortable and made sure I had first aid supplying bandages, a cold pack and bandaids.

The breakfast rush. The hostess was not pleasant. We were seated at a table that was difficult to get up and down. There was no assistance from staff when you needed to ask a question. A window was left open when we arrived and I had not noticed it. I was cold the first night and asked for a blanket and thankfully supplied with one. I did not need it after the window was closed.

Normally stay in slightly more basic places than this, but decided to splash out. The Ashling was perfectly located (for us) by Heuston station, and was only a little more expensive than the cheaper options, anyway. Was very happy with my choice. Fantastic staff, nicely appointed rooms and a bloody great breakfast. Seriously. May well be the best buffet breakfast I've ever had in my life: I travel a lot in Asia and have had sampled the buffet breakfasts in their top end hotels. This was better. A better selection, with all the usual stuff but with Irish staples like black and white pudding (all HOT) and a damn fine cheese and cold meats selection. All looked over by some of the loveliest, friendliest staff. I dig. And it made my other half very happy indeed.

Hmm. Nothing upset me, but... Well, there were no toothbrushes or razors in the room. I know the hotel is big into sustainability and all that, but it would have been nice to have these basic amenities. (They do recyclable bamboo toothbrushes and the like now, no?)
