Excellent breakfast, room service, and location. Great value all around for the price - food, service, ambience, location. Great seaside location. Would definitely come back here again! Staff were very friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to answer questions and provide great service.

a lot of the downstairs was under construction. We were not told in advance that there would be only a restaurant a cafe option for dining. It was disappointing to not be able to access the library or other spaces for relaxation & casual socialization. The gym & pool were a little underwhelming, but very clean and well maintained.

Beautiful location at Salthill Beach, easy 30 minute walk to Latin Quarter for our dinner. Comfortable beds, large clean bathrooms with toiletries provided, good breakfast buffet, daily free activities (like wine and whiskey tastings). Front desk staff friendly. Early checkout room service breakfast and help with room issues (bringing a fan, TV glitch) pleasantly quick and helpful. Plenty of free parking.

No A/C meant open windows until the room darkening shades needed to be closed for the night. The room fan we requested helped, but it was still stuffy. No wall USB ports, so we had to share our limited supply of plug converters for the 5 of us.

Location of the Hotel was very good overlooking the Galway Bay and far enough from the busy town centre but bang next door to a fun fair. The bus into and out of town stops right outside the Hotel, so you don't have to worry about parking in town. The cost is 1.90€ each way The rooms are a good size and clean, and the breakfast and dinner was of good quality. It has a decently stocked bar with a great indoor/outdoor sitting area.

During our stay the front desk staff appeared to be mainly foreign and not all that helpful. Pleasant but not that effective in what they do. But apart from that there is little to complain about. I would stay there again

Location and breakfast were really ok, also the view from the room overlooking a nice garden. Beds were very comfortable!

I did not like the presence of carpeting in the room, the lack of towel rails in the bathroom and the lack of soap and shampoo holders in the shower. It is not practical not to have places to put soaps or towels....the latter two issues easy to be solved! Finally I didnt'like the price: for a two-night stay with breakfast, three people in a triple room, we paid 518 euro, whereas the price for the same type of room in the same days, for two people was 333,00 euros. This is not comprehensible

Excellent and large breakfast offering in a very nice setting, if you are lucky you even get a nice view from the breakfast area to the seaside. The location of the hotel is great, directly at the seaside and promenade, offering the opportunity for endless strolls along the shoreline or a nice walk towards Galway City. The team room and pub are great spots to enjoy the afternoon tea, followed by a nice pint in a relaxing atmosphere at the hotel pub.

Bathrooms are in need of updating, a bit of mildew in and around the shower area, which is a bit of a surprise for a 4 star hotel. Plumbing could use an upgrade, too, toilet only flushes once and then it takes ages to refill the water reservoir.

We attended a cousins wedding, the venue being the Galway Bay Hotel. All the staff we had dealings with were absolutely splendid! Our room was comfortable, spacious and clean. The hotel bar appeared to be well stocked and the prices seemed to be quite reasonable. The location in Salthill is excellent with commanding views of Galway Bay.

On the whole, very little. I felt that some of the decor was beginning to look a little tired in our room and some fittings in the bathroom would benefit from a little bit of maintenance. We did have an issue with a seemingly non working TV and inadequate heating in our room. Suffice to say it was dealt with very quickly once I informed reception.

The hotel itself if an old style grand hotel located on Galway bay, the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Our room looked directly out to sea and the view was exceptional, we really appreciated the complementary snacks, wine and water on arrival too! Although it was a little pricey, we enjoyed the dinner and the breakfasts were great.

The swimming pool was smaller than I'd hoped and so it was difficult to have a swim, particularly as it was very busy with families. There was no hooks in the bathroom to hang our towels. Otherwise, it is hard to fault the place.

Loved the location, food and meals.

We requested a twin room on booking.com, but on arrival were checked in to a double. Apparently the hotel only received a request for ‘double or twin’ from booking.com despite my specifically requesting a twin room when booking on the booking.com site. Whilst we were able to be accommodated in a twin room, it did not have an ocean view that was on the booking information. Perhaps the twin room should be a separate option on the booking.com site to avoid disappointment.

We booked very last minute and found the staff welcoming. The room was spacious and we had everything we could want. We could just see the sea through our window, we did have a funfair set up just next door but fortunately it wasn't open. Breakfast was good and we stopped off to enjoy the hotel's balcony that overlooked the bay.

We were Charged twice for the room by accident but we were contacted later that day to arrange repayment. This is not really a complaint as they tried to rectify as quickly as possible.

Wonderful large room with superb seaview. Our room was very clean and beds super comfy. Welcome gift in our room totally unexpected but much appreciated. Staff friendly and helpful particularly in the lovely hotel bar. Breakfast was good and liked that the hot food was served to you. Outdoor seating at front of hotel with the barista coffee van was delightful and a great place to enjoy the promenade and views. Will definitely return to this hotel. Very good value for money.
