Only a ten minute walk from the city centre, Griffin Lodge is situated in a very quiet area, it's run by two lovely ladies who will make sure you feel like home. My room was comfortable, clean, and quiet; breakfast was delicious: they offered a continental buffet (with cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt etc.) and a proper Irish breakfast freshly cooked for you. They accommodated specific dietary requests with kindness and welcomed you to the dining room with a big smile and a chat. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was indeed something special. I thoroughly had a wonderful time at Griffin Lodge, and I'll book again in the future. Thank you!

Nothing.

A very unassuming wee B&B that will pleasantly surprise you. While the room was maybe a wee bit dated decor-wise, it was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and the shower had great water pressure. The two main things that make this place stand out are the staff and the breakfast - Anne was so lovely, welcomed me, and went out of her way to accommodate my special requests. The breakfast was top notch - yoghurt, cereal, fresh fruit and cooked breakfasts, with different options. I went for the full Irish the first morning, and scrambled eggs the next. All delicious and freshly made - Anne even bakes the lovely brown bread you get on a Saturday herself! The dining room is also very cute, with the tables perfectly set. A proper B&B, the way it should be!

I don't think it's the fault of the B&B itself at all - it was the best value I could find and exceeded expectations - but I'm genuinely shocked by the prices for accommodation in Galway in general. A four star hotel in Gothenburg, Sweden just last week cost me half the cost of a B&B in Ireland :/

Great location: a few minutes walk brings you to the center of Galway, at the same time the room is quiet; car parking; the host lady was very welcoming and nice; breakfast cooked for us on the spot; the room was pleasant and had all the necessary items

The room was quite small and the bathroom as well; I would appreciate some shelf/hooks in the bathroom to put our toiletries; If you are tall - the room under the roof could have a low ceiling for you, so mention this when booking (it was ok for us but we are not tall).

Breakfast is great and plenty of choices. Room is comfy and clean, just the bathroom and the shower is small. Location is great, the staffs, Miss. Ann and the owner Miss. Maries are great. They helped us with many things, answer the questions what we wanted to know. even arranged for our transportation, like booked taxi, when the taxi didn't show up, Ms. Marie took us to the tour office, so we would not miss our tour. They Even did extra with my laundry, even though laundry is not part of their service, MS. Marie kindly took my laundry to get done in town. I really appreciated their kindness and help.

The bathroom is too small for us, but we managed.

Wonderful atmosphere close to city centre and the docks in Claddagh. A short walk out to SaltHill or up to Eyre Square. The room was lovely and had everything I needed for my stay and the host Ann was so warm and friendly offering a wonderful selection of breakfast choices from the full Irish, to some fruit or a bowl of cereal to keep it light. She always greeted with the same energy as visiting my family. If timing and schedules work I look forward to another stay next year. Many many thanks to the Griffin Lodge for such a lovely stay.

The Griffin Lodge Guesthouse was one of the best accommodation I have ever stayed in during travelling. Charming, very good located near the city center yet quiet and easy to reach everything on foot. Very clean room with en suite bathroom and well run breakfast area. Ann is a great hostess who has always an answer to questions regarding the city, the stay, activities etc. The breakfast is very good too (coffee was great) and they take consideration of any special requests. I had the feeling I was staying at a friend's home. Much better than a big hotel where you normally are "just another guest". I would say it was a great part of my Ireland experience.

The property was very close to the main streets of Galway, only a short walk away from pubs, restaurants and shops. We felt Ann our host was exceptional. She made us feel so welcome, we loved having a chat when we would be heading out. Breakfast was fantastic. Thank you Ann, you made our stay a memorable experience.

The host was very welcoming and provided tips to reach the City center within a few steps and the main attractions. Breakfast is ready made on order - for hot dishes - along with a small cold buffet. Even with a short 2 nights stay, we've found fresh blankets, towels and cleaned room.

The room we had was a bit small and didn't allow us to open both of our luggage with ease. Some wall hangers for the coats, not in the closet, would be a plus.

After my work travel, I decided to spend a few days in Galway. I was warmly welcomed by Anne and felt immediately very homely! I couldn’t have wished for a better stay, with excellent breakfast and comfort, in a great location close to the city centre and lots of bars and cafes just around the corner! I’ll definitely come back, thank you so much for everything!

There was nothing I didn’t like, everything was excellent!

Ann was exceptionally kind and friendly. I got lost and she helped me find my way, including sorting the parking right at the door when I arrived late. She pointed me in the direction of somewhere to get dinner quickly as well. She went above and beyond to cater for my dietary requirements and then offered support in sorting my next steps when she was fully booked for the following night. Flag of my country on the table at breakfast too. Truly a warm Irish welcome! And the best shower I’ve had in Ireland too! Hot water and great pressure!
