The hotel is lovely and the adjacent Palmers bar was perfect to watch the rugby on a large selection of large TV screens whilst partaking in the excellent food for lunch. If you are not dining in the exquisite Pulmans carriage restaurant then evening menu will be the same as lunch but still very good. The cocktail lounge and piano bars were a great place to relax pre or post dinner and through out our stay the staff could not have been any more friendly or helpful. I also would highly recommend the deep tissue massage in the Spa with special mention for Katerina who was brilliant. Outside there is a golf course with fabulous views and if you don't want to play golf it makes for a lovely walk. You have to dine at least one night in the infamous Pulmans restaurant just to experience the fine dining and unique ambience.

It would be nice if it had a pool but we knew this before we arrived. Also the queue for breakfast can take some time if you arrive down after 9am but again the service and food are worth it.

the staff definitely always make a property for me, personally. very kind and friendly staff. I like when staff engage with who you are/where you come from, etc. rather than just grabbing your money and sending you off to your room. the staff here were amazing and very helpful. even when I didn’t want help, for example, with my bags, they insist.

the property itself was amazing but it was the type of guests at this property that I did not enjoy. I am a young female and I often felt some uncomfortable glares from the guests, maybe wondering how I could afford to stay in such a place. there was some “snobbery” so I did not enjoy hanging around the facility as much. I have stayed at other 5 star hotels in ireland but the guests are more “mixed” and it becomes more enjoyable. If you are someone who enjoys socializing, I’m not sure if this is the hotel for you.

We had been on a week long excursion of Ireland (Dublin, Belfast, Killarney, Cliffs of Moher) to end on a high note at the luxurious GlenLo Abbey. The location and hotel was exquisite but more importantly, the service exceeded expectations! It was a peaceful end to a very ambitious trip. My husband had a medical situation arise and the staff went above and beyond to help in every way possible. We loved our stay although most of it was spent dealing with the medical situation but each employee at the Abbey treated us with kindness and care. Thank you!

We will remember our stay at Glenlo Abbey for a long time to come and were sad to leave. Such a charming Irish experience that I would recommend to anyone. Take advantage of all of the wonderful activities available at the hotel. My son had a blast fishing with Glenlo‘s ghillie and the falconry was superb! Breakfast was delicious. Simply walking the grounds during the bright summer evenings was so relaxing. The beds and bedding were also super comfortable and allowed for a great night‘s sleep.

5 star attention to detail, huge bedrooms, very clean. Amazing staff, very friendly and courteous. Food and drink excellent. Not one thing could be faulted.

I loved the opulent feel of the hotel, was very luxurious. The location was really good and the grounds of the hotel itself gorgeous. I loved how the we had turn down service every evening. The breakfast selection was also really good. all staff were very attentive and accommodating.

I didn’t like the fact they didn’t have pool/jacuzzi facilities which would be expected from a 5 star hotel

Post Covid I suspect there were some staff resourcing - not enough to undermine our holiday but increased waiting times which one would not expect from a 5star hotel. Breakfast room could be bigger otherwise if all guests arrive at the same time queues develop.

Service from the bar == I asked for a hot whiskey be delivered to my wife who was reading in the Abbey Room. I then went for a walk and came back an hour later to discover that the whiskey had only arrived 10minutes earlier. There were other aspects to this tale but at least they didn't charge for it !

Everything. This is our second time staying here and it did not disappoint. Pullman dinner was amazing.

It is not that I didn’t like but was on the bottom level facing the parking lot. To get the upper levels with view you need to pay more or go off season like our first stay. Went in late June and hotel full.

Our room (#315) was quiet and beautifully furnished, with a garden view where the falconry demonstration takes place. The staff was very pleasant and professional. The grounds include a beautiful golf course with walking trail. The breakfast is excellent, with a lot of selections.

The only variable, and it can't be changed, is that it takes a taxi ride to get into Galway, but the setting more than makes up for it.

We loved everything !! The staff are exceptional, they are so friendly , accommodating and helpful .. it was so Christmassy and cosy .. the food and drinks were great and the room was perfect , clean and comfortable.. we haven’t felt this relaxed in a long time . the spa was fully booked but we’ll definitely plan better next time ..
