the location and multiple restaurants!
the bed was so uncomfortable, clearly two single beds pushed together badly with a terrible mattress topper making it very hard to sleep

The location was excellent. We enjoyed the uniqueness of the hotel and its decor. The staff were so friendly and dealt with any queries in an open friendly and efficient manner. Our evening meal at Sophie's was excellent as was the service. Would definitely visit again and recommend to friends
We had a few blips when we first arrived but these were dealt with efficiently and with humour. There were a few issues regarding electric sockets not working and continual draft from the window so I think things like this need to be checked as its a new build. We were disappointed that the pool and spa facilities were not open as the website gave the impression that they were.

This hotel is just a vibe !! So chill yet low key classy. We spent most of our time just at the hotel because there was just such a good feel about it. The staff are soo lovely, the food is yummy, it can be pricey but you don’t even care because the atmosphere is bang on. Worth every penny you rack up on your bill😅
The shower drain was letting up a musty smell but grand if you kept the shower door closed.

I couldn't say enough about how great our stay was at the Dean. We were in Galway for the races so the hotel and town in general were busy. It was effortless to check in/ check out. The staff were friendly and helpful. When we had questions, they got the answers and sometimes went to the trouble of getting further info for us. In the restaurant and bar the service was excellent. The hotel is in a great location too, it is less than a 5 min walk to Eyre Square. The public car park is very close and also we got on-street parking (no charge on Sundays). I would highly recommend this hotel.

I highly recommend the dean hotel. The facilities are wonderful. The heated pool, steam room, sauna & ice bath were great. The staff at POWER gym were so kind - gave us a tour and checked up on us. It was perfect. The room is a good size. The bathrooms were modern yet cosy. There is also cool touches included such as the smeg fridge, munchies shelf, fully stocked bar & Netflix. There is a calm, easy going yet luxurious atmosphere at the dean which I really liked.
I enjoyed my stay at the dean, the only thing I would have appreciated if there were hotel slippers or flip flops available as these would be useful for the pool facilities - maybe this is just me being forgetful!

Good location. Nice room.
The hotel doesn't offer breakfast as part of the stay, but there's a restaurant in it that serves breakfast dishesand hot drinks. It's not a cheap affair, we got much better breakfasts for quite less in other hotels. also, when we went it took forever to get our food because they got the order wrong. There isn't a safe in the room.

Very modern, trendy hotel! The rooms were really nicely decorated! They rooms had a hairdryer and a hair straightener which was a nice touch! There was also a fridge! The rooms are stocked with drinks and snacks..which you do have to pay for! They take a 50eur deposit on check in which you get back if you don’t take anything! There was also a Nespresso machine in the room! Beds were really big and comfy! Location is grand, pretty central. A few minutes walk from Eyre Square. Sophie’s roof top restaurant is also on top of the hotel and there were 2 more bars and an Elephant and Castle
The ceilings were oddly high in the rooms so it made the room feel slightly empty and had a bit of an echo. The lightning is all dim apart from the bathroom so for getting ready you have to go into the bathroom to properly see for make up etc. It wasn’t an issue for us but may be for others! We were given an accessible room, which we didn’t say we required so I assume that’s all they had which was fine but there was 2 sinks in the bathroom and 1 of them was right in front of the toilet so you had to sit sideways on the toilet or put your leg over it like a horse, which I thought for anyone who does require an accessible toilet, it wasn’t very accessible. Food in Sophie’s was mediocre and overpriced!

record player in room and smeg friedge
We had to leave a day early as my daughter was brought to the doctor as she was ill. My Mum was looking after her while we were there. I told reception and they told me to contact booking.com which I did and they told me to contact the hotel. I wrote 2 emails and also called the hotel and explained the situation. I did not get any reply in response. Even if we could not get a refund it would have been nice to be to organise another night, or even just to get a response from them.

Myself and my husband stayed in the Dean during the Galway Arts Festival. Hotel is very clean, our room was small but had everything we needed for a one night stay and decor was fabulous. The heated pool was a real treat and we used it on both days. We eat in Elephant and Castle which was lovely. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, sausages and pudding were undercooked, we waited over 30 mins for our breakfast also. On checking out, I was confused by our bill as they did not give us a chance to check were all of our charges correct, which most hotels do. We were actually charged twice for breakfast so I am now awaiting a refund for this. On booking through booking.com we added on the 10% discount breakfast package for Sophie’s which i think caused confusion when paying. There should be a more straightforward system for this, and you should clearly see your outstanding balance on your account with the Dean to avoid this overcharging & lack of clarity. I would return but I think for the price of the hotel, staff should be better equipped with handling payments/packages/bills etc.
