The hotel staff are the friendliest most helpful people we have ever came across in a hotel they really.made our stay the most enjoyable experience from.the cleaners, the ppl at leisure centre , the receptionships the bar staff and waiters and waitresses and especially the night porter Alex he goes out of his way to.help anyway he can , food was lovely, hotel was spotless rooms spacious could recommend this hotel enough will deffo be back, was a gang of.us with kids ages 4-14 and honestly cannot fault this hotel

If I had to pick something to fault.id say maybe a bit more effort put into the kids club and the room was a bit dark maybe more lighting but that's just trying to leave feedback not a bad review

Staff at the bar Sunday evening were very friendly and professional. But credit must go to Josh at reception who checked me in Sunday . (I hope I've name right) he not only gave me a nice welcome he also remembered my name when I came down for dinner. Always impressive when somebody takes the time to greet you by your name. Hotel spotless as always. Ideal for short trip for studies in Portlaoise. Pool area was grand. Pool tiles floor is slightly slippy in the water of the pool not the deck, so non swimmers like me need to be a bit more careful. But staff and facilities down there were perfect.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Maldron Hotel in Portlaoise, and I couldn't be happier with my experience! Overall, the Maldron Hotel Portlaoise offers exceptional value for money with top-notch service, modern amenities, and a warm atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in Portlaoise.

The hotel was nice and the bed very comfortable. The room was just the right tempetature

I came in late and was a bit nervous trying to get my key to open the front door. Also I had booked the room through booking.com so I couldn’t get breakfast however it was the same rate as they were giving to my organization and they got breakfast. That annoyed me and would stop me staying again.

Check in was professional and speedy, the room was quiet and suitably double glazed. The servicing of the room was to a good standard and staff were very polite. Breakfast in the dining area was explained to us both very clearly and there was a good choice of beverages and food. Checkout was really quick and all in all the whole of our four night stay was most pleasant.

Everything was fine and there was nothing to be critical of.

The staff are the best and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Alessia and Josh on the front desk went over and above to help out. I was travelling with my elderly mom with mobility issues. The room we had booked the bed wasn't suitable for her. They helped with sorting it out and changing rooms for us. Nothing was too much.

I know its probably down to insurance reasons but the only thing I didn't like is that for older children to enter the pool an adult also has to enter the pool. I had my 11 year old avid deep end swimmer who swims way better than I can but she was very restricted in going to the pool as I was only able to enter the water once. There is no deep end and I feel that older children could be allowed in the pool supervised. Not the end of the world. Just a little letdown by the restriction

Check in was quick and the staff were all so friendly and really seemed happy in their work. They all had big smiles and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The breakfast was very nice, great buffet with lots of choice for everyone. The bar was warm and cosy.

Our toilet wasn't properly cleaned - I had to clean it myself when we arrived. This surprised me as the rest of our room and the hotel were spotless

Room was clean and comfortable, the staff were helpful and friendly. The swimming pool was nice. The breakfast was amazing so much choice and the overall cost was very reasonable. Would recommend this hotel.

We didn’t like the fire alarm going off late at night but we believe that this was down to the storm rather than the hotel.

The rooms are spacious, and the beds are comfortable. The bar and food are great. We have stayed here a number of times when visiting relatives in Portlaoise.

On our last stay there were a number of Xmas party's and it was loud and packed !! This was continued into the night.. The prices are top end. But we will certainly stay again for its convenience.

Decent sausages. Scrambled eggs. Gluten free bread

Fried eggs tired and dried up. Same for rashers. 8am. Fri. There were berries in illustration of breakfast but none there. No gluten free pastries Very little parking. Learnt after there was more next door. Didn't see notice, depended on client to tell me. There was a queue of cars, difficult to turn round
