The hostel has a very nice common Area, Inside and outside, with a place for everyone to chill. They also have yoga mats. There is Ventilation, very nice breakfast, and the possibility to get a nice dinner as well, for a small donation. And There is free Popcorn in the evening! Definitely a big plus!;) The Capsules were a place for privacy in the hostel. The bed is very comfortable. I would definitely recommed this place to stay :) Thank you for the nice stay!

A litten bit too cold in the common Area I would wish the Personal to know more about the public Transport etc.

Breakfast is amazing! And such a fun way to meet people in the morning before heading out into the city. And then in the evenings we had a great time - you are close to the shuk and it's easy to get swept up with the other guests in some kind of adventure. This is a great place to meet people, to get a little bit of rest, and to see the city! Location is perfect. And thank you to Shimrit for helping me get a discount on a tour! Saved me a bunch of money compared to the other tour I had booked. Definitely recommend

Not a lot of places to get work done in quiet other than in your room. And the kitchen fridge is overpacked and hard to navigate, and it would be great to have some extra spices in the kitchen that are free to use for all guests. It's too expensive to buy spices for cooking and only use a little bit during your stay.

Everything was well organised, breakfasts were provided every day, and were free of charge. Dinner is provided on the Shabbat (Saturday), and is really good. The overall ambiance was relaxed, and the location of the hostel is ideal for a first-time traveller to Jerusalem. It is also ideal for those who may want to stay in the city for more than 2-3 weeks. There are weekly events which help these longer-term visitors to participate in the hostel - such as cinema nights and paint nights. Visiting this hostel also ensures meeting a wide variety of travellers, from all around the world, who make excellent company for visiting the sites around Jerusalem.

One or two volunteer staff could be difficult to communicate with, and this made things a little more stressful. An example was a bar staff member telling me that I wasn't a resident of the hostel (this proved to be a computer error) and another incidence involved a volunteer ignoring me when I made conversation. However, on the whole, staff were helpful and easy to get along with.

One of the best hostels I ever stayed in. It was rebuilt from the old cinema house and has a great atmosphere and a character. The design, common spaces, rooftop, everything is perfect. Everything is always clean. I will definitely recommend it.

One kitchen is too small for a hostel, and it would be nice to renew the pans and add more cooking knives. One refrigerator for guests is definitely not enough, it's always a struggle 2 find a place for your food. Adding one more somewhere will solve this problem.

In the captivating city of Jerusalem, there's a remarkable haven that beckons to backpackers, journey-people, and experience seekers. Welcome to Cinema Hostel, where warmth and hospitality embrace adventurers from all walks of life.As a seasoned traveler, I've returned to Cinema Hostel not just once or twice, but thrice. With each visit, I've fallen more deeply in love with the incredible experiences, and the remarkable people that make this place come alive. Nestled near the legendary Old City, and vibrant Machne Yehuda open air market, Cinema Hostel steals hearts with its open arms and genuine smiles. It feels like a big, welcoming family—a place where connections are forged, friendships blossom, and unforgettable memories are made. As the sun sets, the hostel's balcony transforms into a hub of connection and camaraderie. The air is filled with laughter and the clinking of glasses as new friends from around the world share their tales of adventure, creating an atmosphere of joy. Each sunset viewed from the balcony casts a warm glow over the city, and painting the sky with vibrant hues. It's a magical backdrop to connect with fellow travelers, swap stories, and enjoy the tranquil beauty that Jerusalem offers. Cinema Hostel embraces holistic well-being with invigorating yoga classes that awaken the body and soothe the soul. And when it's time to unwind, the on-site bar offers a diverse selection of beverages to quench your thirst and foster social connections. For culinary adventures, Cinema Hostel is ideally situated near delectable falafel stands and refreshing juice bars. Indulge in mouthwatering flavors and vibrant, refreshing juices made from locally sourced produce, allowing you to savor the diverse flavors of Israel, and Middle East culture. So, dear fellow wanderer, let Cinema Hostel be your joyful retreat in the heart of Jerusalem. Embrace the magic that awaits, and always live your own script. Kudos Cinema Hostel.

I wish I could have stayed longer.

The room was cosy, the breakfast amazing (extra paid for, but man... worth it!) and the staff fun & ready to help. Def recommend, staying single (like me) or with someone 😊

We could've used more air in the room, i.e. A/C or an option to open the window wider (it was limited by the bed). You can imagine a room with 8 men getting sweaty & smelly really easy in hot Israeli weather and low air flow, can't you? 😁 Other than that, great!

Amazing location near the Ben yehudah pedestrian shopping/cafe/bar area! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the hostel in general has a very friendly community vibe— which means you’ll hear the sounds of others around you, but the provided ear plugs at the front desk are amazing (heavy duty construction style, much better than the kind we brought)— so we didn’t have any issues sleeping.

Private room was great but could have been significantly cleaner in our opinion. If you are at all sensitive to sound this might not be the place for you. Still a fantastic value and location, I’d likely stay again.

The hostel is in an old cinema which gave it lots of charm and character. The staff were so friendly - I had a minor issue with another guest I was sharing a room with, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful in resolving things. The Friday night shared Shabbat dinner was a lovely experience, and I appreciated being just a 20 minute walk from the Old City for a relatively low price.

Some parts of the building were a little messy and ramshackle, although personally I felt this added to it's character.

The double bed capsule room was not really a capsule but a small packed room where you could stand inside so was much more comfortable than expected. The breakfast is good including pancakes shakshuka toasts and cereal. There was coffee although the machine was making very short coffees. There's reception but you can also enter anytime with a code.

The room didn't have much ventilation other than what entered through the sliding door holes. The doors from other rooms would bang often when closed. A few times we found the toilets were not flushed (well hello there 💩!).

Location - Very central and right in the middle of everything. Majority of the sights are easy walking distance and 25 minutes walk to the central train station. Cleanliness - Everywhere was very clean including shared bathrooms and shower rooms. Accommodation - We had a double capsule room. The bedding was very clean and the bed itself was very comfortable. There is no noise insulation but it is normal with this type of rooms. The area where the capsule rooms were away from social shared areas so it was mainly quiet. Te hostel has a lovely terrace and a busy popular bar. All the staff we encountered was very friendly and helpful. The 24 hours free water and coffee is also bonus. The free coffee you can make from the machine yourself and made from fresh coffee beans. If we were to return Jerusalem we would definitely stay here again.
